I'm looking forward to seeing the Top 20+ for the GOTY votes. 4 out of 5 games I voted for are not in the top 10 :p

Shame about LIS2, but after the turd that was LIS1 I can understand people not giving the sequel a try. it's a shame, since it improves on LIS1 in every way, mostly by not having shit protagonists
Nah. LiS1 was amazing and LiS2 was boring with awful and annoying main characters. Should have voted for it as Turd of the Year because it's definitely the game that was the biggest letdown for me.

I played 5 out of the top 20 games, played not finished, so you can see why i didn't vote.
This year was going to change but... I'm back on Xenoblade Chronicles X so yeah, i doubt i'll be voting for GOTY 2020 either.

Who put Bloodstained as a TURD of the year??????

Did they play it? That game turned out to be everything I wanted out of that Kickstarter even after waiting like 55 years.
It's kinda baffling that a lot of people put it as turd, while a (presumably different) group put it in their GOTY lists.
No EGS games making the top 20 😅
The Outer Worlds is an EGS game, though it is also on Gamepass, I guess

Yeah that's a bit of a head scratcher. Maybe they played the switch version? lol

Actually Outer Wilds did. And I think this contest is about art, not about the business practices of the industry. I actually voted for that game simply because it deserves it even though the studio made hostile and anti-consumer decisions.

I didn't vote for it, but happy to see Bloodstained on the turd list. Game crashed every time i interacted with a bookshelf. After some googling, it was a known issue that supposedly got "patched" but i guess not really. So i just uninstalled it after 2hours or so.

Even the Switch version got mostly better by the end of the year haha.

Still tho, Switch was a bad version sadly.

That was Outer Worlds 😅 I assume almost everyone here played that on Game Pass. But yeah, Outer Wilds and Control are the obvious ones that got robbed. Better luck next year.

I would have voted for it if I could have bought it on Steam/played on Game Pass at least :D

God dammit, I misread haha. I haven't played Control so I couldn't say. I'm not sure you could say Wilds was robbed, it's still niche in the same way Outward or, say, Journey are niche and this is a popularity contest after all!

I haven't voted this year because i don't really wanna engage with videogames in such a manner anymore, but it's nice to see that AI The somnium Files managed to get into the top 20

Gotta play AI someday. Also finish my replay of Fata Morgana and play the prequel. Damn, why are there so many interesting games out there?

I don't like to discuss lists since everyone is entitled to his/her opinions and there's no right or wrong answer but...

9 | Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (appID: 74701, released on 2019-Nov-15)
11 | Slay the Spire (appID: 40477, released on 2019-Jan-23)
What. The. F...?

I wouldn't call Bloodstained a turd by any means but I was certainly a tad disappointed with it tbh, much more grindy than I expected

Very happy to see AI Somnium Files in top 20 though 🙂

As for GOTD I really hope Prey is there somewhere!

I'm one of the two who voted for Bloodstained as turd of the year because, from the time I spent playing (a few hours before giving up both bored and annoyed) I expected a '90s inspired game in 2019, not a '90s game in 2019. Sluggish controls to say the least and terribly uninspired design despite the ridiculously high budget for a small title (yet one more proof that veteran Japanese developers suck at using money from crowdfunding campaigns). These two factor, added to the fact that I'm not a big nostalgia person, made it an absolute chore to progress through the game so I just gave up, despite being a backer myself.

I can respect a man who stands by his word in the face of impending doom, but alas, you will have to be crushed by the army of truth for your transgression; be prepared
Oh, in that case I should be fine, after all, al l said was quite objectively true, it's just a bunch of butt hurt fans that seems to beleaguer me

As for the Games of the Decade, there is a tie for the tenth place, so that we have a top 11.

Our member Dragon1893 managed to submited a vote with 8 games out of the top 11.
Yup, that's me, as average as you can get.

Credits are rolling on RE7, unfortunately the third act takes a nosedive in quality but it's a fantastic game overall.
I was taken aback by the amount of ammo I had before the final level but turns out it's a literal shooting gallery. Shame.
Anyway, still need to do the dlc.

Prototype has some bullshit sections. Then again I think certain missions would've been easier if I had bother to do some of the side stuff. Seriously one mission involved taking out 4 tanks and you are barraged by rockets, choppers and mutated enemies and it is too chaotic even damage these target tanks, yeesh.
Thank Crom for Cheat Engine.

Cool GOTY list, I didn't vote because I can't give an informed opinion without having played a whole lot of 2019 games that I really want to try at some point. :blobgamer:
But the lack of Outward is :poutblob:
