Yeah same here. I started getting into JRPGs on the PS1, so I missed out on all the great SNES ones back then. I used to mainly play sidescrollers on the SNES at the time and only started catching up on SNES JRPGs thanks to emulation. The last one I played was Earthbound a couple of years ago and I thought it was very unique and fantastic! I still wish to play many of these classics soon, but mostly FF 4-6 and Chrono Trigger. I'll probably play the SNES version too even though I have it on Steam where it's supposedly much better looking now after all the patches and has a bit of extra content too.Of course.
It's incredible how many great SNES games I still haven't played. The lack of internet for decent recommendations and the insane prices of SNES games were a huge problem in my youth.
Edit: it seems Chrono Trigger never got a PAL release in the first place

Unfortunately the animation framerate is representative of framerate the game is running at.
I'm sorry, I'm just frustrated with the state of the port.

Just catching up on the State of Play stuff. I'm glad to hear that Spelunky 2 isn't a surprise exclusive and I hope it comes to Steam sooner rather than later. I also think Bugsnax actually looks great, I didn't think the game would be like this at all from the first reveal.

Tbf, mobile probably has different settings and resolution. It's also the first beta for PS4 with minimal optimization.

Oh my God, what the fuck is wrong with Death Stranding? I played the entire thing without any issues but I'm in the post-game now and it's like the game just shat itself or something. I can't drive anywhere without the game constantly freezing and going "Now loading...". Sometimes I can't go five meters without getting hit again. And that's when it doesn't just give up, throw an exception error and crash. It's maddening!
It's like it's no longer able to stream data fast enough or something. And today it started doing this cool new thing where I'll enter a distribution center and the lighting/shading won't load properly so it'll be just flat colors or just completely dark. And that's not even getting into the weird controller behavior I've been getting. I'm validating the data right now but I'm not holding my breath...
I spent the last few months reading books instead of playing games and I'm starting to think I had the right idea. Books don't crash or require loading.

Mine has gotten worse to the point it crashes. It crashed in a long cutscene and I had to do the fight over.
Sometimes it crashes on launch lol.

Happened after progressing. Literally 30 hours nothing. Seems like it got worse the longer and further I got.

Weird. I wonder if there's something in the game's data that's degrading over time. I updated my GPU's driver yesterday and it seemed to go away for a bit but it started happening again after a while.

edit: OH GOD I just saw the Alan Wake thing! If the Horizon port is rough then maybe I'll just skip it and wait for Control instead. This is the closest we'll ever get to Alan Wake 2 and I've been waiting for so long...

Except for the initial stutters, that went away after an hour or so Death Stranding ran perfectly fine for me.

So I just saw the new GodFall gameplay overview video.
There's some interesting info I learned, like the game will have no mtx and it will be feature and content complete at launch. I'm still bothered by the over the should camera though, it serves no purpose for a melee combat game like this. It's not a shooter ffs.
Also, Youtube's automated caption catches the game's title as "God Ball". It's probably a better and more fitting name.

All right. Why didn't anyone tell me that learning to skateboard at almost 35 was a bad idea? I wanted to feel what it was like to ride fakie, tried to skate a wet (yeah... wet...) half-pipe, slid on dat mornin' dew and ate shit. Oddly enough I fell on my right butt cheek but it's my left leg that hurts when I try to lift it (as if the shock wave traveled sideways through my ass and did something to where the quad connects to the hip).
