Oculus Rift S iteration/replacement of their previous base product revealed and, indeed, it's basicaly a tweaked PC version of the stand alone Oculus Quest.

ahahah what a shitshow. yeah, it's more a mix between quest and go but not stand alone and overpriced for what it is. and it's a actually a lenovo product. a modified wmr headset. oh i wish valve would tell us something about their hmd or if its even coming or only a prototype for knuckles development.

Here is a new list of videogames you are allowed to play for free until 2020

  • Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey
  • Afterparty
  • Control
  • Industries of Titan
  • Journey to the Savage Planet
  • Kine
  • Phoenix Planet
  • The Sinking City
  • The Outer Worlds
  • Soul Ash
Slow down with the list, it takes time to add all these titles and developers to my ignore list. :p

Surprised Metro Exodus sold that good but still no concrete numbers and tbh saying it sold 2.5x what Last Light (without even clarifying if that includes the Steam preorders and if their Last Light number includes sales from all 3rd party sellers or the Redux etc) did isn't a big deal in itself, Exodus was handled and marketed like an AAA release when the previous games were anything but. Similar to a Witcher 3 situation where it was a clear leap from Witcher 1 & 2.

Lots of games to number now but in the grand scheme of things it's probably better we found out all in one go rather than have it trickly out over time.

I totally agree, numbers can be tweaked.

So, the only actual number we got was the for downloads of the free games, and that was 4.5m for both Subnautica and Slime Rancher? Don't know if we can conclude anything about the store growth since Subnautica was more high profile.

And unless they clarify the numbers (right....) that 2.5x is going to generate even more confusion than no numbers at all.... we don't know about the Steam Pre-orders, and it definitely doesn't include key sellers, that I'm guessing for a game like Metro add a lot of sales.

NecroDancer makes Zelda playable before Nintendo, ffs.

Super Smash Bros series am cry :V
They will probably be fine, but if Epic keeps making all the good game exclusive for a year, then we will only see crap games released on Steam.
The fuck
Do I bust my ass making these highlight threads because I want to pass the time? Epic won't be able to buy up everyone, and there'll still be lots of worthwhile games to pick up on Steam over time.

This is some 'asset flips'-level argument you've got going there, amigo :S

They're extremely far from getting all the good games, or even a sizable percentage, these are a drop in the bucket all things considered.

Also just timed because most devs can't pass up on Steam userbase forever even after getting paid to do it.

There's currently no feasible way for them to take "all the good games" from Steam without running into the same problem Steam has with an overflowing library.

Sorry, I am just feeling down since after those recent announcement of exclusive games, mostly those that even got steam store pages. I shouldnt be down since I rarely buy games at release date

It's understandable. :cat-heart-blob:

Usually, one plays games, watches movies, or listens to music to "chill out" from the stress of daily life, and when something comes along to cause some friction to this, people react poorly. I'm guilty of this myself. :)

But, at the end of the day, gaming is a hobby, and we can always choose to do something else. Or play something else. ;)

I'm so excited to pick up games like Control, andThe Outer Worlds, on my PS4, where the developers/publishers will get as little money as possible from each sale.

Apologies if my post was rude, but you really shouldn't let it get to you.
Personally I'm just chuckling about this stuff.

Epic also revealed that Deep Silver’s Metro: Exodus sold more than 2.5 times as many copies in its first few weeks on the Epic Games store in comparison to the previous franchise release ( Metro: Last Light ) on Steam over the same period of time.

Epic's bloodbath is even worse than I thought:

  • a shitload of new exclusives, including the outer world and control
  • partnership with 1 (one!) keyseller to counter the criticism that they are boycotting 3rd party keystores
  • extended partnership with Ubisoft
  • a misleading communication about Metro Exodus' sales that makes it sound that it sold better on EGS than the last game on Steam
Epic is really playing a very dirty game here to become the biggest player in pc gaming. Every fiber in my gamersheart hates what they are doing and how the media is responding to it.

To see more and more people on Era who have been opposed to Epic's tactics cave in to support them anyway makes it even worse.

I need a break from all of this... 😳

Edit : Seems I'm banned from Era, can't even see why. Oh well...

Was to be expected.

Perhaps. Still disappointed about certain people from who I expected to stand up against Epic.

Oh well, it's not up to me to tell other people what to do with their money. I'll just stick to my own principles, although it feels a bit useless to boycott something while millions of other people don't care.

What's really pissing me off is the media reporting that Metro Exodus sold 2,5 times as much on EGS than LL on Steam. That's not at all what Epic said afaik. Many people pre-ordered the game on Steam...
