Jeesus, HROT is hard too. Enemies hit something fierce. Pretty awesome artistic direction.
Why do every retro shooters that really interest me are either EA or in development ?

I guess I should try Dusk or Amid Evil, but on first look they don't interest me as much. And as relatively cheap as they are, I am broke.

What region do you live in? I'll gift you a key for Maximum Action. 😉

Hm.
I wanted to finally give Edge of Eternity a try, but it looks like they still have a lot of post-launch updates planned...
Granted, most seems end-game / post-game content, but there do seem some general new systems/improvements in there.
On one hand, that's some pretty great support. On the other hand, I thought it would have been "done" for good when it released out of Early Access and I could play the complete package, but it seems like the wait continues...

Void Bastard was never in a Choice bundle, right ? Odd, it seems old enough and has left Game Pass.

Tetris connect players, what zoom option do you use? To me it seems that the default is a little bit tiny but I imagine is due to being thought for VR use

I use the default one because I played with it for so long that everything else looks oddly hooge in comparison.

Finished Ys IX with an ingame playtime of 54hours, but it probably doesn't count all the reloading and stuff. The game is a lot better paced than Ys VIII imo, exploring the town is more fun than I thought originally but I think it's still a lot less interesting than the map in VIII.

One improvement is the combat and better mobility, dungeons are a lot better than the ones in VIII because of that, I remember dungeons can feel like a chore in VIII and often felt like it drags, but I had fun with them in IX. One thing I didn't like are some of the encounters with a lot of enemies, often I just can't see what's going on and I just rely on spamming dodge/flash guard+special moves, one example is the secret boss that also throw adds at you, I ended up just spamming items instead of properly learning its patterns because of too many things on screen, and did not want to retry it from the start.

The raids are pretty fun and probably easier than VIII to S rank.

Didn't like all the crafting/trading items/equipments, it's a lot more convoluted and I find myself just using whatever gears I have at some point because the items are often too expensive, and going through multiple ways to craft/buy/trade items were just too much hassle, there's no achievements tied to getting every single piece of equipment so I ended up ignoring it for the most part.

As for the story I love the characters in this one but didn't find Monstrums storyline to be too interesting after the first few chapters.

Played a bit of Riders Republic, its Steep 2 but a little more fun, if it was F2P would be huge, but for $60 probably gonna die really quickly.

That's way more than good enough for reviews scores for Psychonauts 2. Not going to watch/read anything. Going in blind and hoping that the Windows Store works.

As much as I don't like all the Microsoft studio acquisitions, I can't deny that I'm curious what Double Fine can do with more time and budget.

Cripes my Top 10 reads one-note, lol.

Do you like Mundane Sims, PDX or WRPGs?

Been on holiday this past week traveling through Quebec City & Montreal.

Really enjoyed both stops but didn't realize how much courtesy French I needed to brush up on.

That's another shooter for the wishlist. Hadn't heard about this game. Just drowning in these lately.

Steam's Interactive Recommender is not great: I have plenty of examples of good games which could be recommended to me, and yet I get other recommendations of lower-quality games. Hopefully, more work goes into the recommendation system.

If I push the sliders to the left (popular games released in the past 10 years), it is okay: the top 4 includes games which I considered purchasing at one point.

If I look for old niche games, I get recommendations for games with Mixed ratings which I would not play (I tried the demos during a Steam festival, it is a skip).

Then, if I check popular games released in the past 6 months, I get debatable recommendations at the top. Maybe these are good, but they do not seem to my tastes. The combination of "many positive reviews" and "a very low price-point" is usually a great indicator that I would not play these games.

Finally, for recent niche games, this is not looking good at all! After a quick look, there is just this one which could be of interest to me:

Overall, I would say that it is best to keep the slider to the left for "popularity": popularity must be correlated with good ratings, so the list looks nicer overall. :toucan:

How's the Capcom Arcade Collection port? I see it has very negative reviews due to the pricing which is fair, but is like the port bad?
