Even when it is on Game Pass, you can play it when you want. :toucan:
No, because you have to be subbed, technical issues, 3rd party titles leaves or need Internet if you use cloud.

One of the reason I stopped using game pass was due to technical issues, which did not allow me to play when I wanted.

I thought you were talking about the psychological burden of having a timer on your subscription, but sure.

My point was that, whether a game is in your Steam library or on Game Pass while your subscription is active, you can play or not play it whenever you want.

To quote a certain fictional psychopath, "A hobby's supposed to pass the time, not fill it". ;)

Ultimately, videogames, like any hobby, are supposed to distract you, and provide you with an enjoyable time.
If you are not enjoying your time with a game, or start feeling any stress or "pressure" to do something videogames related, it's time to take a step back, and rethink your habits. :)

In my case, I always loved long games, in particular RPGs.
Now, the truth is the available time I have is frequently short, and even when I have time I frequently don't have any patience to play something "taxing", so what I find myself playing are arcade games, short games.

For example, I've mostly been playing:
-arcade games on Capcom Arcade Stadium;
-Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania
-Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron's Workshop

We frequently forget about it, but our time is limited, and it's a bit pointless when you waste some of it on hobbies, when you are not enjoying what you are doing. That's why I don't hesitate to drop a game, when it starts feeling like I'm forcing myself to continue, and not having a good time with it.

I bailed on that when I got to act 2 and realized it was gonna be the same thing as in act 1 again. Thankfully it was the physical Switch release so I could trade it in. It's so bizarrely repetitive. Hopefully Triangle Strategy is a bit better in that respect.

You know whats the weirdest part of a forum selling out? That some of the members, who made a lot of threads and provided the value of that place are getting zero for their efforts.

And I thought the UFC was trash for paying less than 15% of their income to their fighters

This.
I can't say it's particularly bad, it's just that a couple characters in, let's say 10-20 hours, you know in your heart of hearts that this is exactly what you will get for untold amount of hours. Like when I play it I have an adequate time, it's competent though too verbose, slow and boring, but thinking about playing it again after that, I'm 'why, though ?' every time.
I know what I must do but it's hard :cryingwhyblob:

If it applies, do it. You can always return to it later. ;)

Sometimes, it's just a matter of not being the "right" game for a certain moment. I started plenty of games, stopped them, and quite some time later returned to them (re-started), and actually had a good time. There are times when you just don't have the "mind" to play something, and you return later on, have a great time, and wonder what the hell happened the first time.

For example, I'm a huge fan of INTI CREATES output, in particular their Blaster Master Zero series.
I bought Blaster Master Zero 3 at launch, played a few hours, was lacking time (and patience) to continue, and was not really feeling it, so I dropped it. I'll surely re-start it one of these days, and probably have a great time doing so, but when I dropped it, I just wasn't having "fun", so I played something else. :)

So the World of Horror dev communicated for the first time since the beginning of this year... While I'm glad they're seemingly okay and the game may yet be finished, I can't say I'm not salty about how they handled their absence. I'd have been satisfied even with a simple message saying they're on hiatus. I'd have been okay with it if the game was canceled and they said as much.

But that was also true for Dwarf fortress and Aurora 4x

Tried a bit of Deathloop, I find it to be a really good game, but don't have the interest to play it now so I uninstalled it and added it to my curated backlog, so Im going for Ender Lillies and Metroid Dread now instead, both that I really wanna play.

Took an overview of what Im interested in playing next that I own and have installed....and it's a lot

Ender Lillies, Eastward, Amnesia Rebirth, Arise: A Simple Story, The Artful Escape, The Forgotten City, Huntdown, Orcs Must Die 3, Lone Echo 2, Metroid Dread.

And still, Im receiving so many "just releases" mails from Steam. fucking hell.

For better or worse, there are daily releases of Super Meat Boys, Limbos and Braids.

Watched a bit of Project Zomboid Lets Play, now I have bought it :(

The thing with Project zomboid is the actual mainline branch of the game and the beta branch are leagues apart so if you want to see where the game actually is you have to play the the one that is updated frequently. They're like on 3d models in the beta branch and still using 2d models in the production one. So it gives off the appearance that they're not actually doing anything

At least that was the case the last time I paid a lot of attention to it but that was awhile ago so dont take my statement as fact, I just know there was a big disconnect

Then you're probably playing the latest and greatest, I'd imagine? I try and check in on it once in awhile as it's the closest to a zombie survival game as I'd want from a game. Though state of decay gets pretty close

This really sucks. 90% of the reason I still have a playstation is for competitive multiplayer. I'd like to make PC my main platform for that, but cheaters make it impossible. It's not terrible with Battlefield 1, since there are plenty of community servers that don't hesitate to kick cheaters, but that's not something you can rely on for every game. I do like modding and other advantages of PC, but I guess you can't have that and also stay away from lame ass cheaters.

Looking forward to it repeatedly crashing on my PC later this year.
edit: sorry, I meant to reply to this:

Im all in favour of AntiCheat for multiplayer games, but a) Kernel-level sounds defintely wrong, and b) I fear if ActiBlizz puts this into Overwatch or WOW, I might not be play to play those games on Linux anymore. And theyre the only MP games I play.
Unless they also wanna have their games work on the Deck and port their stuff to Linux.

its hypnotic :D

After 13 hours, I have finally reached one of the endings of Ring of Pain. That is a nice rogue-like game: simple, yet a lot to learn from and to experiment with.

These were my stats. I had the underwear hat.

I have been zoning out from deck news for a while as pre-order is not available here, but I will probably grab it on ebay next year provided that the price is not outrageous.

Yeah, I hate the kernel level anti-cheat as well, and I don't consider it a solution. I wish those dipshits shooting themselves into space would redirect their efforts to solving this problem.
