I’m still enjoying Days Gone 28 hours in. Just got to a brand new zone after the warning about losing access to the first 4 areas of the map. Playing pretty thoroughly with the exception of saving the hordes for the end game. This new zone seems to have the highest level upgrades for my bike so I am stoked about that.

It’s totally following the Ubisoft template, but I miss that template since I refuse to buy Ass Creed etc on Uplay.

It was good while it lasted, enjoy irrelevance alongside Tumblr
Its really fascinating how some platforms are so happy to shoot themselves in the foot. Must be something about US companies and their shareholders only seeing very short-term.

But its not just US companies. For example,, Spotify CEO Daniel EK has annouced he's co-funding a Military AI startup. (Link to his tweet) What joy! So, apart from Spotify lacking any customization options (still shows me rap playlists on the start page even tho I hate the genre, still trying to push podcasts even tho I dont listen to them... ), and of course, their pitiful payouts to artists, thats one more thing why I dont wanna be a subscriber with them anymore.
I will have try give Deezer, Tidal or Apple Music a try soon to see what they offer.

Pro tip for people playing Blasphemous for the first time or replaying it after some of the major updates: donate a (cumulative total of) 20,000 at the church in Albero to unlock fast travel between save points. It's so worth it and imo should've just been the default.
.... son of a bitch! The gate system works fine but man, that would've saved me some tedious traveling time hahaha.

Apparently she got some leaked info about Persona at TGA and is telling people to temper their expectations. If it's relatively low key, I'm expecting something like a P3P port or P4A and not a Royal PC port.
God, I hope it's P4A or something like that. I'd rather get no port than get a port of P3P. That game really needs a fucking remake of some sort that combines the contents of both FES and Portable. Both versions have too many drawbacks.

Now I doubt it would be P5R. Maybe a Persona spinoff or Catherine Full Body?

No, nothing changed at the hardware level.

I searched for Citrix issues and there are some reports that Citrix fucks up Unity games. I also saw reports that DX11 mode in FF14 is a 2fps shitshow with Citrix installed since October (while having 150+ FPS in dx9 mode)
I deinstalled Citrix and restarted the PC but sadly it didn't change anything. But couldn't test it more because I need Citrix tomorrow for work.

checking the nvidia overlay, the 1660 is used as the display but not really working
the performance overlay when I tested the problem with Rimworld tells me:
gpu clock 300 mhz
GPU temp 44C
GPU voltage 0,6volt
GPU usage 10-20%
GPU power 15 watts
GPU fan speed 0 RPM
memory clock 405mhz

I could confirm this issue with Wasteland 3, Xcom2 and Rimworld

CK3 and Factorio are fine, they both use the GPU fully and the temps go above 60C and mostly stable 60 fps

:steam_pigblanket: Got it working. I deinstalled Citrix and reinstalled the 2108 build from a few months ago. 60 FPS again :steam_pigblanket:

Thank the holy keyboard!

Game Awards today

Get hype for the advertisement everyone

I would be more than happy with P3. I know people want the new stuff but there is always gonna be time for newer titles. Give me the classics that aren't trapped on dead hardware pls.

Major time saver when you're backtracking. The basic fast travel points are too far away from each other. I didn't get until like 2/3rds into the game and wished I skipped over some of the lackluster sword upgrades to afford it earlier.

All you really need are the base versions of the special attacks and you can even do without the charged attack (never used it myself), which means you can have the funds for it after completing like one or two areas... Ouchie. You'll also unlock the upgrade that makes save points restore your mana in addition to health and that's quite nice too.

A new Persona spinoff would be reason to get hyped and Atlus specifically teased a Persona announcement for December so Catherine wouldn't be relevant. Also the "Next Inforamtion" button on the official website is yellow which matches P4's color scheme. I'm with Mor and curi0usBystander in believing it could be P4A.

as long as its not P4AU I'll be happy.
I can't into fighting games. Even Persona Dancing I'd be fine with.

If it is AU though happy for those that do like that sorta thing.

Do you guys know whether there is a cross-platform (Win+Linux) tool to evaluate frame pacing ?

More generally, what do you use to get measurable info beyond FPS, when that metric alone does not seem to tell the whole story with regards to how fluid the game feels?

Specifically, I'm testing Dark Souls II on Proton, and although the GPU is waaay underutilised and the framerate is locked at 60+, the game feels somewhat bad and "choppy", in a way it clearly doesn't in Windows. I'd like to make a Protondb report with some data to back that feeling up. To do that, I'd need to find the relevant metric at play under that feeling, and, ideally, a tool I could use on both OSs to measure it.

Since it's really more a gaming-enthusiast question than a Linux question, I though I'd start by asking here.

(In case anyone is interested in that, I found DS3 a bit choppy under Proton as well, though much less, whereas Sekiro runs perfectly -- though it takes a bit more GPU -- which bodes well for Elden Ring's compatibility when the time comes).

i don't know of a cross-platform tool, last time i checked the go-to tool to display metrics (like a frametime graph) on windows was afterburner+rtss and mangohud on linux.

If Atlus does announce something at TGA I feel like it would have to be SMTV related to keep that game in the news.

P3 or P5 wouldn't be something they announce at Keighleys show. I don't think he ever had trailers like that for old ports. That is more PCgamingShow or just a twitter post. And spinoffs even less likely tbh. Anything outside of SMTV would probably not happen tonight and instead later in the month for Persona specifically.

Been futzing around with the new Alpha 20 build of 7 Days to Die and holy crap is it good.
I saw the update for that. Looks awesome! I've been waiting for bandits to come to the game before I start back up, which I believe is coming in Alpha 21. But playing it now is tempting :thinking-blob:

I wish I could watch TGA live this year but it's in the middle of the night and I have a meeting very early the next day at work. I guess I will have to survive the whole day without going on the internet to avoid spoilers and watch TGA later that day :weary-face: Anyone with the same struggle as me? I hope they reconsider their schedule in the future so that maybe both Europeans and people from NA can watch it at reasonable hours.
