New week, new thread! What are you playing?

Continuing Super Robot Wars V. I've reached the final branch which leads to ending A and B. Each route has 3 scenarios and I plan to play both, so 6 scenarios left in total. After 100 hours, the end is finally in sight! Enjoying it a lot.

After completing this playthrough, I will probably watch a few anime shows featured here and play some other games before starting another playthrough with the other protagonist.

Kingdom Hearts III: boy, did I finish the main game people weren't kidding when they said that the end games has like 90% of the plot development.
There's still some post-game and then the DLC before I'm done.

The DLC is fun to play, and you can up the challenge nicely, but after revisiting the games with Steam to check em on deck, I'm done with the series tbh

I've just hit Act 2 in Expedition 33. It's indeed very good. The volleyball minigame is incredibly bad however. Like, unbelievably garbage.

Zenless had its big season 2 finale and i enjoyed it a lot, especially the Epilogue. Tons of lore and set up for exciting future plot threads and they keep dropping more all over the place in the events. Crazy stuff.

Also bought the Hamble and am trying out Nine Sols. Liking it a lot. The setting is kinda wild and pretty brutal. Sci-Fi wuxia? Dope.

More Monster Hunter Tri. Yeah it looks blurry because I'm not even using high resolution stuff in Dolphin (at the moment, some times I do, though this game's blurring/fog/bloom don't seem quite right either way), I tend to emulate stuff at their original res/look. With Monster Hunter World onwards taking a very different direction I hope we get some (indie?) classic Monster Hunter likes soon (when the Souls clones slow down I guess?). This was the pinnacle for me, a grand upgrade from what came before that implied an amazing future which didn't quite materialize as I had hoped...

I actually messed around with Cemu for 3 Ultimate too but I'll just do a short story run of the original as I didn't like the changes enough to consider that a definitive edition. It's sharper, 60fps, vibrant, crisp, with nice character shadows and all of the G rank content (since Tri's online side is defunct also the High rank content which is inaccessible, though I see there's a mod to enable it but it doesn't seem like they got 100% there). But also obviously simplified geometry (due to its 3DS roots), gutted dynamic lighting so caves are brighter by default and torches don't illuminate things and I don't even like the new monster and other designs and overall vibe as much, it's almost like they were trying to make it look more like the then eventual Monster Hunter 4, which is definitely cool on its own but it just doesn't match Tri's original style, imo. Maybe it'd have turned out different if it had been developed normally for Wii but instead they made that weird Portable 3rd as the PSP's last hurrah which reused Tri content but gutted half of it as PSP couldn't handle all the swimming stuff and replaced it with different things and then it took way longer for 3 Ultimate to land on the 3DS.

I'm also still playing Freedom Unite since the Tri run will be super short, in case I need some more Monster Hunting after that. I'm up to 3 star quests in both games, Barroth, Qurupeco, Ludroth and eventually Gobul in Tri, Plesioth, Hermitaur, Congalala and other such stuff in Freedom Unite. Lovely. It was surprisingly easy to adjust back to these games without all the so called quality of life stuff from later games. At first I felt like I could barely heal or sharpen mid battle as the animation of it renders you immobile (vs running/riding away during in the new games) but I've gotten it down since. The farm is really useful in Freedom Unite's early game without having too much meta game time wasting bullshit. It starts worse in Tri with pitiful returns per cultivation round but it also has the boats and trader to help and you can farm basic items (and boss monsters) in Moga forest free runs too.

Since i never played III (and by extension 0.2) i decided to replay all the games before and while my dislike for certain things that they did in later games (especially 3D) have gone away I don't know if I'd return for what they do next.

Never played AC1 beyond the intro back in the day so I bought it on the steam sale and play it right away. After the first 2 mission the repetition already set in. But at least story wise it's pretty interesting. Just going to do the bare minimum to finish it ASAP so I can go to AC2.

I still remember first playing the game on console. The game was very beautiful and fun back then. It's astonishing how open world game designs have changed, because I didn't feel the repetition at all.

Then, AC2 came out and completely blew AC1 out of water.

I just finished The Mummy Demastered that I've been chipping away at for the past few days. It's ok, I expected a bit better given the praise I guess.
I also started JETT The Far Shore campaign but I've only done the prologue so far so we'll se how that goes.

Re: Super Robot Wars V

After 120 hours, ending A done! Really like the final boss twist about (heavy spoiler)the question of love. Game is overall quite easy but I heard the other ending route is more difficult. Please be true!

I finished The Séance of Blake Manor few days ago and now I'm playing Skin Deep.
I also intend to fire up Babushka's Glitch Dungeon at some point this week, maybe also Mika and The Witch's Mountain.

Also started Voxelgram 2 and Strange Jigsaws.

I'm also playing Proverbs here and there.

Is that enough games?

I've been playing a couple 2025 games recently, so LePertti doesnt come to my place and break my legs if I dont vote in the MC GOTY awards ;)

Hades II: I enjoy the combat to some extent, the characters and the presentation etc are all top-notch but man do I hate the whole roguelike thing. I see myself playing a few more hours of it before I leave it be.
Doom Dark Ages: Im afraid its like Eternal just not for me. Just too much of everything going on all at once. Its okay for a few hours.
Dispatch: I played through this and liked it a lot. But honestly, "played" is an overstatement. I watched it and played the gameplay sections in between badly. I also didnt like the way it handled a certain core character. In the end, the game was like "you neglected xxxxxx" – and I absolutely didnt, in fact, I thought I did the opposite – but I found out it the game has a hidden "mentor meter" and I just fell short by some points, probably. A bit of a letdown at the end there, but overall a good game. I'm glad it was fairly short.
Atomfall: played a bit so far, its not too bad, Im not sure itll be able to hold my attention though ;)
and I plan to play Outer Worlds 2 as well – we'll see when I get to it.

its gonna be a tough list to make, there were a lot of games in 2025 that fall into the "fun for a while" category for me personally. Nothing really stood out as amazing.

This past week I focused mostly on finishing with Ride 2, and also decided to continue the FF Pixel Remasters playthrough with Final Fantasy II, but that's FFII so it's going to be a more "relaxed" playthrough compared to the blitz that was FFI
