And while I don't exactly see meltdowns over it here, there are plenty of you who pretty much hate Tim Sweeney and the Epic Store because you can't play the games on your favorite launcher. Is that really much different? It's just games.
The reason why I dislike EGS and Sweeney has literally NOTHING to do with not being able to play games on my favorite launcher. It's all about their shitty policies and money hatting practices.

Kingpin wasn't very good in '99 and got most of the attention by being edgy, about drugs and uberviolent. Will get the remaster but I wouldn't dare calling it a classic.

What's the difference between the early and late game that made you quit? Asking since it's on my shopping list for this year, hopefully, and would rather pay for something I'll enjoy from start to finish and not feel inclined to drop midway through.
The last "level" is extremely difficult, takes about half an hour to complete and has no checkpoints or savepoints at all. There are 40 other great levels to play tho, so don't let it prevent your purchase.

Many reasons something can be a classic. It had it's cult following that was mostly about the multiplayer. And the game had it's unique personality, in many ways, So I actually sometimes think back to it fondly but haven't played it since long long time ago so not probably doesn't hold up very well, as you say it wasn't even good back then.

Plenty of people here who dislike EGS use other non-Steam launchers and some even use EGS for the freebies. Some people do just use Steam, but to characterise it as just another launcher is dishonest.

Personally on my PC I use Xbox, GOG, Steam, Origin, Twitch, Uplay, Itch.io and EGS (for the freebies) and except for EGS I have bought a game on all of the other services.

Steam Proton is an incredible thing. For years I've been wanting to dump Windows because I love (mostly) everything about using Linux as my main OS, but obviously games are an issue. You'd have some games in Wine that ran perfectly, some that were mostly ok, and a ton that just weren't going to happen. In the last two years though this is hugely different - almost everything works perfectly or nearly so.

I don't even dual boot anymore. My Win10 hard drive has been sitting outside the case on my desk now since March '19. I wish that Valve would make a bigger deal out of it, because it works so well more people should be doing it at this point. Games on linux went from being a hit or miss disaster to being completely doable this past year.

I started Darksiders 3, I like it.
It's simple, but it works. I already regret the lack of a map though...

I think Steam's 'time played' is incorrect.
It says I played FEAR 2 for 76 minutes, but I am sure I played it for more than 2 hours >_>;

Has it not been confirmed already? Id be SHOCKED if it didnt.
I don't think so, unless I missed the announcement.

The reason I'm worried is that they are making significant changes to the formula with that game, and that might give them a reason to decide to drop that feature. (And because there really aren't many games that provide a Tales-like coop experience)

I've got that issue with a lot of games. Some are incredibly off, like more than 10 hours.

It's just the combat that's coop, right? Never played a Tales games cooperatively myself

Yeah, just the combat is actively coop. It's still a pretty fun couch coop game -- what we do is basically split the characters evenly (in terms of playing them in battle and deciding their skills / equipment etc,) and just alternate on doing the map stuff in dungeons/cities. Of course, many of these games are ~100 hours (at least if you play it like we do), so when a new one is released it's usually a several-month commitment.

I think you should use the HIDE tag rather than the SPOILER tag for this kind of content. It is not a spoiler. :cpc_kappa:

Also, this, otherwise, I am going to warn all of you! :einar:
I mean it did "spoil" lashamn's mood

Isn't that pretty much a given? Except mobile, every Tales games have co-op.
That's almost true, Legendia doesn't.
And Arise does change the basic mechanics of the game, doing away with distinct encounters, AFAIK. That would also require some re-imagining of the coop mechanics.

I'd love for my concerns to be unfounded though. (Or any gaming site that does an interview to simply ask about coop directly!)

but even then, it suffers from a bad case of Warnerbisoftite like all Sony games.
What's Warnerbisoftite?

I played Gravity Rush on Vita and though it was okay, the combat was not something I was a big fan of, but there were moments were I did like it.

I played the Remaster of the first one on PS4 and really liked it despite many shortcomings due to its handheld origins (and I could not finish the game on Vita because the low framerate made me physically ill).
Gravity Rush 2 is perfect.

Warner Bros and Ubisoft combined for ultimate evil.:smiling-face-with-horns:
Pretty much boring Batman melee combat that is now everywhere (at least Dark Souls seems to be taking over now), boring shooty bang from Far Cry, and tons of empty open land to "explore" without getting anything meaningful.
Pretty much all Sony games fall in both of those categories, with the extra "cinematic" autorunner sections and QTE.

Gravity Rush is nice, but it does get very repetitive. And it is pretty empty, though I do not think that its Vita origins are to blame as GR2 is much larger and even less interesting with a shit ton of bad side quests.

Inject it into my veins, I need it NOW!
Anecdote time kids, sit by the fireplace and listen.
I think Kingpin is the only game that was extremely problematic to play for me. Not that my family was strict, but it's one of the most vulgar French dub I ever heard. Funnily enough, I talked about it on some forum years ago and this wasn't a particularly remembered aspect.
Now, I know why. Americans and their bips :pleasedblob:
Kingpin without bips could make a cadaver blush.

I'm stupid, I barely touch my Switch, finally finish the big JRPG I was playing, and of all the fucking idea I get is... maybe I should finally play Bravely Default.
FFS, I need to enter 2020 already.

Oh, and on a related note, Nintendo and SE can go to hell, the game was released fall 2013, it is sold 45 euros.
