Yup, Ubisoft did it a few days ago but only in poorer regions. The result? No Kotaku, PCGamer, etc headlines.
I mean stoneshard is slated to be in early access for 1.5 - 2 years with the price increasing gradually the more features going into it

To be fair, Gamepass doesn't offer DLC either and both services are still an incredible value without them. I think it's better this way too. In a subscription dominated future, there still need to be incentives to purchase full games or it will quickly become a race to the bottom quality-wise.

I wonder how Steam could get away with Remote Play Together. Looks like the type of initiative that would get a publisher to have an aneurysm.

You were able to run any game by quitting a launched game, and starting something else during early beta.
Some people say that this still works for EA games, if you quit out of Apex.
As texhnolyze said. It's probably a publisher thing. GTA 5 was for example available, but is no longer. RDR2 is on Stadia though.
Because:
-Devs can opt out of it if they so want.
-It started targeting a small section of games that have local coop but not online coop (thus adding a new free service to devs).
-Most of the affected games with the addition are indie developers which dont have that much power.
In general the more surprising thing is that not that many devs prohibit "Family Sharing".

I have always been eligible to try Prime for free and I have never seen the appeal. You need to have lots of money to spend on Amazon to find an interest in getting faster shipping. Plus, if I had a lot of disposable money, I would boycott Amazon as much as I can anyway.

I thought the same for years, that last encounter seemed so unfair. Then I finally decided to play on easy and man I was finally able to beat it, so give it a try you can do it!
Although I played it on easy the feeling when you finally beat is soooo good

Besides, it's more restricted than Family Sharing, and I'd say most devs are OK with that. With Remote Play Together people can only play if the owner is hosting the session, so it's not like they can play whenever they want.
