PSA for Re;Zero fans .... WATCH last 5 minutes of final ep if the Director's cut version... they finally did what they should do back then
Does the Director's cut add anything else important? (or at all?)

Oh, I may have jumped the gun by one week. Could have sworn there were a lot of new series starting yesterday, but seems like it's next week ?

Watching Konosuba season 2 for the first time, almost down with it.

Holy smokes, I love how they turned the nastiness of the characters into a wonderful comedy.

Dino good uwu.

I'm loving the liberal use of airhorns during the live-action segment, lmao. Who the hell is Mieharu-ossan anyway. It was almost a deconstruction of gal genre. :dana_blanket:

Anyway, I hope they will adapt Dino's birthday chapter, or when they went to DVD rental shop. It's a riot.

I wanted to finish watching Infinite Dendrogram today, but it turns out this week is a break and it will only finish next week. Meh.

Anyway, as someone who really enjoys the LNs, the anime is really not worth recommending. It obviously leaves out a lot of "side stuff" (game mechanics, world building, side character activity, etc) due to the constraints and change in medium I guess, but that alone would still be alright.
The last few episodes have been a huge step-up now that lots of twists and fore-shadowed stuff had their pay off but it's all undercut because the show looks like garbage and the direction is awful too. Gah.

Having Bofuri in the same season makes it worse, because it's essentially the same genre and while I don't know Bofuris source material the anime is just so much better in everything. I can't help but imagine Dendrogram with an adaption of Bofuri's standards and that makes me sad :(

rant end :p

Okay, quick question or two about RWBY which probably fits in here more than anywhere else.
I watched the first volume in movie form and started the second volume and it seems like there's a big jump in time and tons of things happened. Is there other media between volumes? Like Yang goes to a club and they're talking about the last time she was there and i'm like eh? Did i miss a scene?

Also, what's up with the audio? The voices are too quiet and the sound effects are too loud. I'm playing it a Firestick 4k, is it an Amazon release thing? Everything else i've watched has been fine.

So far though, i'm enjoying it.

nothing in between, in case of yang it's referencing/it's a nod to the yellow trailer, RT used to release the trailers before RWBY first volume aired, in that trailer Yang goes to the club and wrecks it

the other trailers if you're interested

That Miyazaki documentary truly is wonderful, I'm still in the process of watching it and it's a delight.

I'm also loosing myself in Demon Slayer's plethora of soundtracks. It's just so damn good.

I think we have to prepare for many cancelations/delays/indefinite holds.

Animation work can't be done from home.

I know Heaven's Feel 3 has already been indefinitely delayed, and that likely means everything else by ufotable will be delayed as well. It's a matter of time before other anime studios start to announce their own project status.

What's a good place to order anime merchandise? I joined the Redditgifts Anime & Manga secret santa event.
AmiAmi, Neowing/CDJapan, Nippon-Yassan. These are companies located in Japan I can vouch for, that have great websites for foreigners.

Ebay isn't so bad if you're cautious/smart. JP-Sellers on Amazon too, they rarely offer prime shipping but they're reliable and the ones who bother to setup shops on foreign Amazon usually do so with good intent.

So Kaguya-sama is one of the funniest thing I've watched since nichijou.
It's a great Show indeed.
Best thing about it tho is, that it also manages to be just as good when it's trying to be serious every now and then.

I agree, the mastery the show has of tone and nuance is amazing. Characters are really endearing without being one-dimensional endless pits of cynicism. I'm having a blast.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I decided to buy a figure of Saitama from One Punch Man: POP UP PARADE Saitama: Hero Costume Ver.

I found this on a website that I've previously used, Entertainment Earth.

I found out today that Doga Kobo has delayed Teibo as well. :dana_cry:

Chances are they're delaying one of their two airing shows this season (The other one is Yesterday no Utatte) so they can keep their schedule for it.

Yep, not surprised.

If Heavens Feel 3 got put off, of course Eva would too. These are massive productions with lots of people and movement between staff/studios.

Also today Tokyo reported it's highest number of new Covid cases yet so... expectations are increasing to shutter more things and take it more seriously.

I love the standalone stories in Violet Evergarden. Not to say that Violet's character arc was bad in any means, but their stories were really good and I won't mind watching an entire series filled with them.
