I'm afraid that even epic won't have a hat big enough for Rockstar, I totally believe in Rockstar ditching steam for their social club that I never will be member of.
2K otoh can go either way,
The only thing worth remembering about T2 is that as far as I remember, earnings reports have shown in the past that they don’t nearly make the amount of money you would expect a company of their size to make. Their money largely comes from like two sources, GTA and NBA. And now Red Dead I guess.but Rockstar is like literally a biggest fish out there
every time when I see steam numbers for GTA I go into shock
not that it really means much coming from an exec ... the moment epic shows up with a big enough bag of money - they'll make a deal with them
It doesn't matter, the community will oppose that too.
That take two story today really gave me a sigh of relief that I've needed for a while. I've been scared to death that Outer Worlds was going to get taken off Steam and while it can still happen I feel a lot better about it today.
Yep, the most important part is that the PC community has largely stayed united against Epic's incursion. We have some stupid takes from within the nominally "PC" community, like some dumb PC Gamer articles, but that's about it.
Obviously, you also don't want to overstate the importance of niche online communities, since they usually constitute microscopic fractions of the larger user base. But when communities like /r/pcgaming and /r/steam (obviously) number in the hundreds of thousands, and have an palpable dislike towards Epic permeating through them, that means the resistance to Epic's business practices are still holding among the hardcore enthusiasts.
Maybe eventually Epic will hit upon a big enough maneuver that they turn more people towards their store, but we haven't hit that point. If I were Valve though, I would be careful not to take the loyalty and holding out for granted. It is entirely possible that the longer this goes on, the more Epic begins to wear users through, and it'd be better for Valve to take some punches before that happens.
I'm a huge fan of Tim Cain, but even despite that if The Outer Worlds ends up, for some reason, as a EGS exclusive, I'll have no hesitations in skipping it.
Biomutant caught my eye. If it launches on EGS only, it will be more money in my pocket.
Heck, I am a huge fan of the Shenmue series (to the point I have rare demos, promotional VHS tapes, ...), and if Shenmue III ends up as an EGS exclusive, you can be sure I'll ask for a refund of my Kickstarter contribution.
that's not the case nowadays, so if enough of the "casual" people (people who don't bother browsing forums, reddit etc. and only play occasionally) decide to support epic - that's all they really need to keep going ... so ... yeah ...
Well, I see it like this: the casual audience for AAA games mostly plays on console and the audience for indie and niche games isn't casual. I don't think it'll be an issue.
Note: I'm not using 'casual' in a derogatory manner. My 20-something self would definitely consider my current self a casual gamer.
we can only hope they won'tThe casual audience is already on Epic launcher to play Fortnite for free.
I'm not sure the same audience will pay 60€ for Metro.
but yeah - i'm just worried the "I don't care where I play my games as long as I can play them" audience might be just big enough for them to keep going ... that's all
(even if we don't know how many of the Fortnite players are on PC)
I hate to be a broken record, but I seriously do not understand why there is not a better attempt at conversion going on.Yeah, no way they get Fortnite players to buy Metro in way that is sustainable.
Their whole initiative is so half-assed.
So does anyone know the combination of effects that is causing this?
As far as I could tell, it seemed like the AI squadmates will kill things on occasion, but only things that are non-objectives. I.e., they’ll shoot down part of a pack of drones, but they won’t shoot down an enemy ace pilot.Played a few missions of Ace Combaty 7, it's pretty fun.
Are the AI mates fighting proper and kill things or are they just decoration?

Oh shit! I really liked what I played of it on release but I only did the first couple levels I think. Workshop support is mental, I can't even imagine how amazing this could be.Two Point Hospital just received a big update that adds a lot of customization options, with workshop support:
the game is just broken like that, you can't do anything about it, unfortunately
RE7 was the same way
it's the reflections they're using - they're basically shiiiiiiiiiiit

damn Triangle Service sure loves to make some weirdass titlesAm I the only one that was unaware that Triangle Service (the Japanese team behind shmups like XIIZEAL and DELTAZEAL, among others) has released two titles last year?
...
Jesus Christ RE2's 4th survivor mode is hard! I weep to think about tofu mode ;_;
Anyone play Lobotomy Corporation? I’ve been considering it for awhile. Looks really interesting
I dunno about Evoland, but Evoland 2 is extremely good..So Evoland, it's actually good or is it more of a "joke game"? Like if there is more to it than just the gimmicky style?
