That means that you have to purchase Nekopara first, and tie it to your account. :troll:

Edit: Right for Christmas!

That is the game with animated anime backgrounds! :cho: I am a bit wary about spending 2000 gems, so I cannot try, but I assume you need to own the game before making a purchase from the Steam Points Shop.
I purchased one of the backgrounds without owning the game. Also purchased an animated avatar. I have embraced going full anime.

Regarding the anime topic another new historical lowest recorded price this time for "Gal*Gun 2"

Gal*Gun 2 - 68% off - [UWSL]~7.74€[/UWSL] - Steam

It doesn't show the discount applied until you check out your cart

Allyouplay new super deals should be up in less than 30m 👀

You need to play the meta-game: the spreadsheet.
I started making a mega-spreadsheet with every PC/non-PC game I could think of, but it sapped all energy out of me.
I slowly add games whenever I feel the mood.
I bookmarked my post on NarohDethan Addiction Log and kept updating it over the year. Hopefully we have another one of those next year.
I'll use this in 2021.

Ah, that was a good reminder to update my addiction log entry as well. I’ve gotten through 25 games this year, and plenty of meaty ones among them too. Pretty happy with that.

I've completed 22 games this year including all Ys games except Memories of Celceta. I tried playing it but I kinda burnt out on the formula so at this point I'd just rather wait for Ys IX :blobdrool:

How do people track CURRENTLY played games?

I start a lot of games, but I forget about them and never finish them. :negative-blob:

I spent so much time this year beta testing multiple JRPG's at the same time that it burnt me out of SP games for months. I probably only finished like 3-5 games this year because when I wasnt testing I was playing quick games like Destiny, Overwatch or Fortnite or grinding FFXIV when the seasonal depression hit.

I've been playing more SP games lately though so I think im out of that funk for now. But I really gotta limit how much im putting myself out there in terms of testing going forward.

I add them to my favorites as well. Categories are a great way to track played games. This is how I do it:

  • ASAP
  • Backlog
  • Completed
  • Retired
  • Multiplayer
  • Endless (games without a real ending and/or high replayability, like arcade games, racers, pinball, rogue-likes etc)

I really hope Valve hasn't permanently disabled recent purchases in the activity feed. Was one of my main ways to discover other games.
This.

It's one of the main boons of having a lot of Steam friends for me, to see what people buy and play. I often find interesting games from my friends in the activity feeds. This change is a mistake.

Played a few hours of Disaster Report 4. I enjoyed it so far, story-wise. The performance is terrible, though. I've no problem reaching 120fps in outdoor areas. But in some indoor areas, it dropped to sub-40 fps for no particular reason? Anyway, the AA is kind of lacking which is surprising considering this is using UE4. If only the performance wasn't already so terrible, I'd use DSR to mitigate it.

I completed these this year:
  • Control
  • Horizon: Zero Dawn
  • Mafia Remake
  • Amnesia: Rebirth
  • Tech Support: Error Unknown
  • Resident Evil 3
and liked all of them. Cyberpunk might join them still, who knows. Im taking my time with the game because I love it!
I took a look at my completed games for 2020 and felt sad. I don't think I played any of these games thinking they were subpar, but if you ask me for GOTY, I'm embarrassed. Maybe I have bad taste, or more probably a special skill to always select the wrong game to play.
And let's not forget that like a good dragon chaser, the grass always seems greener elsewhere, and some of these were great.

Picross S3 – Switch
Shin Megami Tensei IV – Apocalypse – 3DS
Ys – Memories of Celceta – PC
Code Vein – PC
Superhot – PC
The Lab – PC VR
Half-Life – PC
Superhot VR – PC VR
Doom Eternal – PC
Voxelgram – PC
Resident Evil Revelations 2 – PC
Resident Evil Revelations 2 – DLC 1 – PC
Resident Evil Revelations 2 – DLC 2 – PC
A Plague Tale – Innocence – PC
SteamWorld Dig 2 – Switch
XCOM – Enemy Unknown – PC
Assassin's Creed – Unity – PC (+Dead Kings DLC)
Devil May Cry 5 – PC
Path of Exile – PC
Assassin's Creed – Syndicate – PC
Drakengard – Emulation – PC
Max Payne 1 – PC
Max payne 2 – PC
Cube Escape – Seasons – iOS
Cube Escape – The Lake – iOS
Cube Escape – Arles – iOS
Cube Escape – Harvey’s Box – iOS
Detective Grimoire – iOS
Mario + Rabbids – Switch
Streets of Rage 4 – PC

28 games and 3 DLC

In my mind that looks like a minor issue with many solutions. You could have a separate column / tab in your spreadsheet for currently played games. Or if you exclusively use steam, you could favorite only these games, or make a 'Currently Playing' category. Or simply leave their good old shortcuts on your desktop.

Honestly was one of the great games of this list. I'm not a puzzle person, so I would have difficulty telling it was one of my GOTY, but it was.
you should definitely check out the steam workshop stuff for it then :) there's a metric fucktonne of amazing new stuff for the game in there

Finished CP 2077. Saw six endings so far, all beautiful, all different, all sad in their own rights.
What a ride, took me 67 hours. I nearly cleared out the entire map of yellow missions (did all story heavy side missions). There is some good stories there and the main quest is great.

This song is now stuck in my head.

btw, my method for keeping track what I completed this year: every game I finish, I put in my Steam library category "Finished" (unless I forget). Then, at the end of the year, I can sort that by "Last played" and based on memory and sometimes looking at my old forum posts, I extrapolate from that which were actually finished this year as opposed to previously finished games that Ive merely started up again this year. Not very efficient or clean, but whatever :face-with-stuck-out-tongue-and-tightly-closed-eyes:

Steam library shelves:

Games I wanna finish (installed one and done games)
Diverse (games I don't find to fit in any category)
Online/MP
Strategy
Roguelikes
Sandbox
Management/Building
VR - Play

Got a collection on Steam called "Curated backlog" which is not as a shelf, just as a collection where I put handpicked one and done games I need to remember to play, but haven't installed, makes it easier to find my next game.

Reddit story confirmed, EGS is a resource and temp hog.

For what it's worth, I ran totally unacademic tests on my new PC and when the EGS was running my temps went up by about 1-3C (5800X CPU), but I also noticed the fans on my AIO radiator spun up faster at the same time, so evidently they were working much harder to cool the CPU. I have a pretty awesome cooling setup right now (good airflow on my case, plenty of intake and exhaust fans, and a good AIO CPU cooler) so my temps didn't go up significantly, but I guess if you have a more standard cooling solution you'd see your temps shoot up, which is not good, especially as the client needs to be running to play many games.

Regardless, there were lots of verified tests that confirmed it was hogging CPU. The big question is why?

Obviously some people were crying about China or something, but I still reckon the reality is it's just a bad app. Sweeney's not averse to lying or just ignoring an issue if it's inconvenient, so this is probably unintentional and will hopefully be fixed sooner rather than later. Whether you love or hate Epic's business decisions, I think it's fair to say we all want the app to improve so PC gamers who opt to use it have a less shit experience.

But while we wait we can still point and laugh at Epic. [UWSL]:minos_laughin:[/UWSL]

It's also not just about the rising temperatures, they are just the effect of CPU usage. 5 to 10% idle CPU usage like in reddit and era threads is far too much. Steam is below 1% in most cases just 0,1%

Yeah, absolutely. Temperatures are just a byproduct of increased CPU use. I never looked at its CPU use as I was more interested to see what impact it had on my cooling specifically, but evidently having the client running while playing a demanding game is going impact performance significantly in some games.

It's also why I think Epic are going to fix this quickly. The last thing they need is for this issue to drag out for months and then someone does a performance comparison between Steam and EGS versions of a game on identical hardware.

As someone with low specs, it is obvious that EGS clogs the system more than Steam does. I always close EGS after I am done with it, because of that feeling. I have not noticed any issue with CPU temperature, it is only because the system feels slower when EGS is in the background. It could be hogging the RAM.

Ditto with Geforce Now: it is even easier because the window cannot be minimized, so I close the program as I close the window anyway.

Sorry in case it's a stupid question - and I guess it's common knowledge for heavy Steam users ha - but what is the go-to method to idle for cards these days?

I got plenty of card drops and it should make a good couple bucks. Thanks in advance!

Dear Players!

In some countries, The Medium was mistakenly priced with a huge discount. When it was brought to our attention, we researched the issue and made necessary corrections, which sometimes resulted in a price increase. We did consider specifics of each market, though, so regional prices are still often lower when compared to the base USD price. If you pre-ordered the game at the old price, you won't have to make any additional payments - your pre-order is still valid and the price change doesn't apply to past transactions. We consider the current prices as final and plan no further changes.
