My first thought was also Skyrim, it basically is a 1 to 1 representation of the beginning of Skyrim.
Never played Ico, what is referenced?

Before I saw the second set of stairs, I immediately thought of the "first" shortcut in Dark Souls, in the tower in the Undead Burg above the ladder.

Skyrim was also my first thought, before I saw that the interior is built from concrete

Not directly related to Steam, but Roblox seems extremely manipulative. The combination of Roblox's extremely high cut, using digital scrip and a system where the rich get richer and everyone else gets nothing makes the Metaverse seems like a dystopian hellscape.

Edit: I see we're on the same wavelength.

I'm sure a certain billionaire CEO will fight for the rights of developers to earn more on Roblox, right?

After my controller issues with Battlefield 4 i was still in the mood for some shooty bang bang and there is a thread on Era about COD Infinite warfare and so i fired that up instead and yeah, its an amazingly good campaign. Slick and exciting and visually impressive. Really good COD.

Also, was that Lewis Hamilton! on my starship?
Yep, I was all wtf when I first saw him!

reading some impressions of Recompile, and yeah, I think I'm going to wait to play it until later in the year, after there have been a few patches. seems like it could use some better signposting and combat balancing, at the very least (some people are complaining about the platforming but I'm not sure how much a patch can fix that)

I felt a little bad that I copped for Tetris Effect yesterday, but after playing it a bunch it's something I can see myself playing off and on for years, and Deck will give it even more longevity. What a comfy game. Also have to try out that multi-controller vibration gimmick one of these days. Switch's HD rumble thing is kinda weaksauce so I should probably use my 360 controller for maximum... enjoyment? :thinking-blob:

There you go
this is making me realize that I know jack about the Genesis and Mega-Drive libraries because Crusader of Centy and Linkle Liver Story both look like my kinda thing
There are so many jrpgs and action/adventure games out there I don't know of that I would probably like @.@

I grew up with a Mega Drive and I only discovered Crusader of Centy/Soleil through emulation. Now I want to play it again because of all the fond memories.

I was in the mood for some hack&slash action, so I decided to replay Chronicon. But for some reason, my brand new character owns all the money and upgrade materials from my previous characters. Starting a new game with 30 million cash partly breaks the games balance, since you can buy anything you want and the (money) penalty for dying is peanuts compared to my "fortune". What a bad design decision :(

I liked Hellpoint a lot. Very decent combat and level design, it's major weakness is the lack in enemy variety. The devs are working on DLC, so perhaps this will be solved in the near future.
That is pretty standard for ARPGs like Chronicon, especially ones leaning more into Diablo-land. They aren't designed around the campaign, they're designed around the endgame. I actually think Chronicon has some serious issues with that (way too much RNG on loot at end game, way too costly to experiment with builds) but that is what their goal is.

If you truly only care about the campaign, you can do to your save file and delete the shared save thing (or move it) and that should clear out everything when you make a new character.

Also just jumping on the Hellpoint like train, I just finished it with my brother a couple weeks ago and really liked it.

Quake remastered!
... How are they gonna top playing the original in Quakespasm? :p I guess VR will be nice, except you can do that with OG Quake.
And whatever they do, they have to keep the original version up for people to play custom levels with. They're doing the same thing with Doom, anyway.

Small update on the RAM situation; I just said "fuck it" and bought some 3600MHz 32 GB sticks to outright replace the ones I have, with some helping-grandma money. It turns out my motherboard can't actually handle RAM speeds that fast, so I'm having to run it at 3200MHz, but it does mean I have this lined up for when I buy a new mobo+CPU down the line.
