Looks rad:

  • Magical girls
  • summoning cool looking giant creature
  • weird world with tons of giant swords sticking in the ground
  • good opening song
  • propbably copious amounts of edge/despair/tragedy
I'm in.
The voice acted bits at the ends were pretty cringey though, I think I need japanese voice acting for that, which the game has so yay.

So Sekiro...

It seems they got fromsoft to hand them the game prior to release and the most competent army of QOL tester went to town and they they gave it back and didn't check that fromsoft implemented the dragon rot system... smh

Like now the story is front and centre but the items still provide tons of lore that you now read when you get them.

This game is so polished and massive, I can't even imagine the size of the budget.

For anyone not getting how is different from soulborne, thinks this, it is exactly the same just there is no build variety now you need to use all those items that you didn't touch in the other games.

You need an aug that'll make you stop getting legit shook by the Epic Store mang.
I see you say this every time EGS is brought up. Is it because you use the EGS client so it doesn't effect you, or you just plan to wait over a year for every game they money-hat?

Fanfest JP is tonight for anyone else that possibly plays FFXIV. Super excited for more news. Expansion is going to be so good:

Sekiro is hard.
It really is, but I'm playing on KB/M and it's kinda fun still. I'm currently stuck at the chained guy, don't have an idea on how to beat him since the just do that wrestling flying kick out of nowhere that has a ridiculous hit area, then the fucker do a 180 to grab and smash my poor neck. Cool game tho, and no going back since I'm past 2 hours clocked on it.

Is that the guy where the npcs tell you is weak against fire? (got nothing on me that uses fire lol)

That's the first miniboss I fought, died a dozen times, avoiding that grab was harder at point blank range using jump so I started dodging away/side step early to make room.

Well, I was interested in Sekiro but people are saying that its combat system is faster than the Souls games so... I'm probably screwed. I thought that many enemies, especially bosses, in Dark Souls 3 were already way too fast since I'm old and slow and have bad reflexes. Am I already dead?

That one, exactly. Nothing with fire on me, not a single health upgrade either.

I'm playing through Crypt of the Necrodancer and it's really a gem. Got hyped after the announcement of the Zelda sequel during the Nindies event.

Also pretty damn hard. Needed 6 hours to clear the first two areas.

Game Informer had a short talk and the reviewer made it very clear that he thinks Sekiro is harder than any Souls before and that's after you get used to the required (more aggressive and offensive) playstyle. Apparently it starts off pretty accessible but then there's a severe spike.

Finally manage to beat that fucking ogre. I decided to go back to the temple since it was obvious I was missing a fire thing. I gave some item to that statue and it teleported me to an entire different zone. Once I found what I needed, I went back and decided to redo my strategy. Instead of trying to fight my way over his two health bars, I provoked him and ran so when he stopped chasing me he was standing in the stairs. I went by his back, used the stealth attack that takes one bar and fought my way to the last one.

That was hard but it has been sometime since I last had this feeling in a game.

Your comments have scared me of playing Sekiro. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:
I've been lacking time, and patience, to play long games, so I was saving Sekiro for later. From what I'm reading, it was the right choice, because by now I would have probably thrown the controller at my monitor. :face-screaming-in-fear:

Yeah... I'm already way to stressed these days to even get near Sekiro. Maybe later...

here's another interesting tidbit about how steam works under the hood :)
Those pesky customers with their unpredictable choices!

Well... I'm not going to defend their algorithm too much because it does appears to fixate in some things, but as usual it shows the difference between putting value or not in what the customer does (or wants).

And off topic but....
I feel OOOOOOOOOOOOLD......

lol :p nah, it's just interesting because up until now i think everyone just assumed the games in that particular list were pretty much only in there based on sales ... but apparently it's also the fact people are playing those as well, not just sales

So those hentai games are actually being played? Who knew people are perverts.... :)
Well, the demand must really be there for Valve to try to sell them despite all the controversies. I can't remember which game that appeared on Steam that made me curious so I went to search a little and saw that people spend a lot of money on Patreon for adult game creators.

See... this is how old I am: I'm one of those weirdos that uses the light theme so I thought that spoiler was dirt on my monitor and was going to say you are way too mean! :steam_pig_laughing:

If you bought Sekiro from humble bundle did you get the pre order bonus for the digital artbook and mini OST?

Not 100% sure i want to keep mine but I did order it when it was listed so I wanted to see if their copy included it.

I really recommend you to get the fire thing now as it's really helpful. You're stuck at the next miniboss? If so, I tried it twice before ringing my playtime for today. Seems that he is the same thing as the previous general, so I'll try to stealth my way to him to take one health bar, spam fire on him and go from there.

Do I absolutely need the fire thing? Even the merchant's tips was telling me where to get it but I don't know if I should backtrack because I already cleared those enemies without it lol, I think I'll keep going and see where it takes me, I guess I could always teleport back if I really need to

I'm probably at the same point as you so I can't say for sure if it's 100% required, but at least it made things a lot easier for me, especially in that fight after the ogre with multiple enemies. I searched a bit to see which item triggered the teleport to the area with the fire thing for you and there's not much of a backtrack, actually.

Just travel to the closest bornfire to the place where you fought the first miniboss, then rush past the enemies there until you find a destructed home with an old lady. Talk to her and she will give you the said item. Return to the temple, put the item on the statue and you will be teleported to a new area full of enemies and the fire thing at the center of it.

Well, I'm screwed. Are there at least summons in the game? I don't think I soloed a single boss in DS3.

It's hardly affecting me. I already in the back of my mind have a bunch of games I want that I expect to go EGS exclusive this year at least.
There are many various titles to play now and keep an eye on that'd release on Steam and GOG that worrying about the next big exclusive for EGS is a waste of brain cells and emotions.
Play and enjoy what you can because there is a lot of them, then by the time the Epic exclusivity ends and that pub or dev starts crying for sales

Surely you can understand why this is frustrating though? The Outer Worlds is one of my most anticipated games from one of my favorite studios, and it was marketed to me for 3 months as coming to Steam in 2019, even the devs said it was. It goes beyond just being "shook" and I think it is something people should be able to vent about.

Son of a bitch, I hate it when I fight a boss the first time and do incredibly well so I take my time and put all I could into it only to die at the last combo lol, so god damn anti-dramatic, then I do worse and die a dozen times before actually winning, damn.

I never have what these NPCs keep talking about :(

Anyway loving Sekiro so far, I barely just started too.

Do we have enough people around playing for an OT? lol

I'm pretty sure Tizoc dislikes the EGS as much as everyone else here.
