Woohoo, I managed to get Type Lumina kind of working. Since the region locking is based on your Steam download server, and it's apparently only the NA PC server that's borked, you can pick a JP download server and the game will start functioning. The game has plenty of other technical issues, but they can be worked around.
And now that I've been able to play, I can safely say... that it feels clunky. I initially tried the maids, since I've been loving Strive's puppet characters, and I don't understand them. Calling for assistance from the second maid seems to take forever, and the reward doesn't feel that great. Coming off playing Jack-O', where a minion slash leaves you +15, sitting there waiting 6 years for Hisui to smack the opponent with a chair feels meh.
So then I tried Vlov, and wow, what a scrubkiller. Dude's projectiles are huge and deal tons of damage, especially once you're down a round and enter ice mode. Feels like he'll fall off the instant I face an opponent that's good at shielding, but for now, I feel like I can get some free Ws.
