Anyone with any experience with this store? They seem to have Starlit Season keys.
That the official Bandai Namco JP store. They started to sell Steam keys just a few months ago (all the other JPN big name publishers have their own thing, SE and Capcom have been doing it for years).

Just to clarify there are third party sites but on that site Bandai gets 100% of the money from the key sold

But I would think that maybe there would still be a region lock?

Keys are region locked, yes, you won't be able to redeem them via Steam, although I'm not sure if that changes if you are using a VPN to mask your location.

i'm not seeing enough talk on the big Hitman 3 news
Are you surprised?
Does the game, and IO, deserve any talk at all?

I'm a huge fan of the series, I play them since the very first one, I pre-ordered all of IO's games (sometimes for more than one platform), and their decision to shit on their established Steam community, and take the game elsewhere for a full year is enough to kill all hype and goodwill with me, and surely others.
Like Remedy, they frequently liked to place the blame for some of the negative happenings with their games to their publishers (like exclusive missions to PS consoles, and crap like that). They self-published this game, and did equally shitty stuff. Not only the EGS exclusivity, but also locking VR to the PS4 for a full year, never even providing any info about this exclusivity being temporarily or not (they simply ignored any and all questions about VR coming to PC).

What's more, they posted all these news, and new trailer (which I haven't watched, since youtube wants me to register a credit card or provide a personal identification document, to verify my age; what?!), and they still didn't even have the decency to acknowledge that the game is coming to Steam, and when.
Plenty of developers add pages to their games when exclusivity is about to end, and start posting updates to increase interest, and they still haven't even bothered to acknowledge a big portion of users for their previous games, that resides on Steam.

HITMAN III is a year old game. It's hard to be excited about something that amounts to "old" news, after all the crap they pulled.

The game went from my most wanted game of 2021, to a long distant memory. I'm not even able to tell you about the stages it has, since I simply unsubscribed from their newsletters and updates, and pretty much unfollowed the studios and their work.

Surely, by now, PC users waiting for a non-EGS release have missed out on all sorts of temporary content/targets, which makes things even more shitty.

I'm very curious to see what kind of price they'll charge users on Steam for the game when it launches. Surely, full price, which will be adding insult to injury.

I'm a 40+ year old guy. I work my ass off all day, and when I arrive home, I want to chill out, and have some fun playing a game, or watching a film.
It pisses me off to no end when a developer whose work I esteemed pulls crap like this, "locking" me at the last moment from enjoying the game on the same platform where I own the previous games, and content, and then is cynical enough to act like they are doing a big favour in, say, making a year old game available to Steam users, or making a year old mode (VR) available to PC users.

You know what, screw them.
I won't be a "cheerleader" for their game, and indirectly promote their work, when they are as scummy as a company can be.

They even went double scummy, and closed the servers to one of HITMAN 2's modes (Ghost mode) just two years after launch, as a further way to try to move people to the new game, and their new buddies at EGS.
That's an E.A. / 2K move right there.

it's hard to get excited for raytracing and DLSS updates when I can't get a damn Video Card that supports those features despite having saved up and held on to that money for over a year now for this one specific purpose.

it feels like by the time I can actually get a 3080 or hell, at this point I'd settle for a 3070, but by the time I can... Nvidia will have launched 4xxx cards. 😓

so tiring.

You will eventually get bored of the chase and settle for something lesser but better
You ever see a technical term go from being important to actual legit developers to buzzwords in a span of generations and it becomes a word that mean absolutely nothing.

That's Ray Tracing

I have legit never cared for after the PS4 people started to talk up Ray Tracing

Is there a translation guide or some other equivalent English speakers can use to muddle through this? I've always been intrigued by Idolmaster as a series (never played it before), but I watched the Steam trailer and it seems doable if you have a basic understanding of how the management stuff works (and have a conversation choices FAQ or similar).

I'm excited to check it out, I own hitman 1 and I think hitman 2. Haven't played much of them though (maybe 2 hours). The VR side makes me want to try it again and put more time into it (better be a good discount), Haven't used my VR since Alyx, so this will be the opportunity.

Somebody tell SE to stop making these things EGS Exclusive and maybe the games will sell better???
Don't worry, it will bomb on Steam too because S-E will shadowdrop it like they did on EGS.

As for this, maybe we'll get news of a port? Well... that is my hope but i know it's a long shot...
A port, heh, that would be the logical outcome and we are talking about Atlus here :lampblob:

There's some MTL project on forums but honestly, I'm planning on looking into it more once I get a copy.

It should redeem just fine considering it's basically the same process as what people are doing to activate RU-locked keys.

The way I see it, the moment you take an exclusivity deal, you already get everything you wanted out of the industry - money - so they don't need praise or anything like that.

Spend that check on marketing yourselves, fuckwads.

Shit pricing + exclusivity = get fucked

I just saw someone argue that "these types of games don't sell on PC anyway".
When the fact is that several JRPG franchises have sold extremely well on Steam.

Of course, usually those are franchises managed by people who seem to have a bare minimum understanding of how to handle their releases so that they actually have a chance at success.

I don't think it's possible anymore, but if you know a way, feel free to hit me up.
