Jag önskar er en God Jul!

I wonder how this affect Chinese devs. Will they still be releasing games to Steam Global and how will the already released games be supported?
I can't see it affecting the Devs releasing on Steam Global too much. There may be some more hoops they have to jump through.
Finally got Control Ultimate Edition on xbox, been waiting way to long to play it! How is are the expansions for it? Usually I just stick to the main game on games but if they are good I might .
I enjoyed the base game a lot. However I never got around to doing the expansions. A mixture of wanting a change of pace and having heard the reputation. Apparently the best ones are meh and the worst ones are awful.

However I do intend to go back at some point and try them. I enjoyed the lore of the game (big fan of the SCP stuff that this heavily riffs on). So wouldn't mind checking that out.

Also I see RPS has finished there Advent Calander (there version of GOTY). I always enjoy there advent calenders, usually a nice mix of AAA and Indie games. The first 23 are in no particular order but the 24th is usually their game of the year. Here is the full list:-

  1. Chivalry 2
  2. Boyfriend Dungeon
  3. Unpacking
  4. Before Your Eyes
  5. Age of Empires
  6. Guardians of the Galaxy
  7. Super Auto Pets
  8. Dyson Sphere Project (grabbed this but need to put some time into it)
  9. Webbed
  10. Slipways
  11. Dorfromantik (My joint game of the year if it wasn't in early access)
  12. Valheim (was another contender until the most recent patch screwed the pooch)
  13. Death's Door
  14. The Forgotten City
  15. Humankind
  16. Outer Wilds DLC (I really need to play the base game)
  17. Forza Horizan 5
  18. The Great Ace Eternity Chronicles
  19. Hitman 3
  20. Psychonauts 2
  21. Resident Evil Village (personally think this shouldn't be in there for the way they treated PC players with the DRM fucking the game up)
  22. Wildermyth
  23. Deathloop
  24. GOTY Inscription
Excuse the editorial comments. But a fairly decent list, based on what I have played, what has interested me this year and what I have managed to play.

Feliz e santo natal para todos. Tenham cuidado com as rabanadas e o bolo rei, não sejam como eu....

So far my only purchase this sale has been an animated frame for my avatar :drinking-blob:
I have a bunch of stuff in the cart but as usual I'll wait for the last couple of days before pulling the trigger, especially considering the sale ends after the reveal of the next monthly bundle.

I watched the latest video entry where Iron Pineapple plays some souls-likes games and one of the games featured in the video was ENCHAIN, as the developer wrote in the store page:

"ENCHAIN links hack & slash juggling and frenetic platforming with fast-paced retro FPS gunplay. Inspired by platform fighters and Quake, smash the undead into pieces with your lantern hook and arsenal of guns. And, with progression and verticality influenced by Dark Souls, tackle a single interconnected world chunk by chunk, retreading old paths and secrets."

It was highly praised in the video and the demo may give a pretty good idea of what is about.

Other game that was highly praised in his video was UNSIGHTED. Particularly it was highly anticipated game for me but I forgot about it, hopefully his video gives the game a push.

It seems really good based on the demo I played and the impressions I've heard/read about. Pleasant art style, clear visual language, good game feel. Already picked it up and it's at the top of my list to play next. I'm not a fan of time limits in games, but thankfully there's an option to disable it. I'll do that on my first go around, and if I enjoy it enough I'll try another go later with time constraints.

It's supposed to be on PC Game Pass, by the way.

How well does steam link steaming work over wifi? I have boot camped my MacBook Pro to run Deaths Door and would love to play it on my main computer, so if the steam link streaming works well then that would be perfect!
It's terrible, there's a stutter you can't get rid of, so everytime a game scrolls it's nausea-inducing.
Try Moonlight if you have a NVIDIA GPU on your PC. Night and day difference.

for me works great and i dont have a special router, maybe works great because i have a very fast internet) last game i ended precovid was ff12 in my mobile 4g, worked amazing too.

Merry Christmas to all, my brother bought some jackbox party games and a group on people translated to spanish so it was a great Christmas, as a family we choose no gifts this year (no kids in my family so that was easy)

Feliz navidad a todos, espero que lo hayan pasado excelente junto a sus familias y seres queridos!

2:40pm waking up gently. Sounds are not too loud but still kinda unwelcome. I may have pushed it by one drink yesterday. Or two. Or three.
No gifts, nothing. I hate you.

But let’s cut the jokes, I wish everyone of you friends a merry Christmas / happy holidays ! May you be happy and at peace :photoblobheart:

But don’t make too much noise, please.

Can confirm over wifi it was abysmal, so much so I think something was wrong as it was barely working.
I have used Moonlight and Steam Link and decided to stay with Steam Link because of great results and its simplicity. I don't know why so many people have issues with it because for me it works perfectly no matter if I use it wired or wirelessly. From time to time I even stream from my home PC to my office through Steam Link and it works so well that some people couldn't tell if the game was running natively or not.

I think for me the issue was that the game ran like sub 20fps so of course the streaming will be horrible also.

If the Steam China thing is true that would actually be a huge thing. That was one of the big advantages that Steam had there.

I need to look into more details about it.

Also if this is true then it should not come as a surprise seeing how it was only a few months ago when China said it would be regulation more game stuff because of the 1 hour play rule that they have. And something to do with regulation foreign companies I think.

As other already said it seems to be an outage actually and not a ban after all.

In speaking of Control
There is this bundle, Control Ultimate Edition and Disco Elysium

What seems nice is that if you got Control standard edition from Humble Choice, then it still count as you own the game. So you will get the real Ultimate Edition with the dlcs plus Disco Elysium for 16 euro

I haven't tried it myself, so I don't know if you really get the real Ultimate Edition.

Hmh maybe I do pause my playthrough of Yakuza 0 and start with Control as my Christmas game.
Im happy I decided to quit playing 0 on game pass and just bought it (I bought all the games on Steam). All are so long that I need lots of time to play them.

I ran through a few Yakuza games so they don't have to be that long, but it seems 0 is really long so that will be my game Ill keep playing on and off till its done.

It's REALLY easy to burn out on Yakuza 0 even with the variety of things to do and the quality of the side activities and some of the side quests.
It's a fantastic game tho so playing in bursts is fine and worth it. There's a ton of entertainment there.

It's a Yakuza game that I want revisit some day as I didn't invested enough time in the side activities.

Everything I'm hearing is it was a DNS poisoning attack. Not an intentional ban.

And agreed if it did happen it would be a huge schism in the games industry.
