No matter how good or bad the hardware will be, what makes or breaks a GPU are the drivers.
And Intel still has decades to catch up with AMD, never mind NVIDIA here.
I'm thinking about the 5800 with triple the cache, should provide enough boost without having to change motherboard + RAM

I just bought like 15 JRPGs + DLC for less money then Square Enix is charging for Babylon's Fall..

Hi all! Hope everyone had a pleasant holiday season.
I was on vacation visiting the in-laws (who are surprisingly cool) and generally away from my computer. It was a nice break.
With the Steam sale coming to a close it time to tally up the damage.
The Wasteland Trucker- New release that wasn't even on sale. But at $12 impulse territory it proved worth the risk as it's one fine, jank-ass The Long Drive clone in the most charming way.
ΔV: Rings of Saturn- Near-future asteroid mining sim based on hard science. Thoughtful design with tons of "realistic" Kerbal-esque upgrades and a Zen gameplay loop.
Mon Bazou- Gifted from r3n4ud (thank you, r3n4ud!) and oh boy is it something. It's a budget My Summer Car clone, but you know how MSC was pretty budget to start with? Yeah, Mon Bazou is like 10X more budget. Curious to see where it goes.
Panzer Corps 2 - A sexy & polished operational-level hex wargame. This is step 2 into classic wargaming after you've wrapped your head around genre primer Unity of Command. I'll get to you one day Gary Grigsby (shakes fist)!
Gothic II/ The Chronicles Of Myrtana: Archolos- G2 was cheap and I came across the free standalone mod Myrtana that dropped only a month ago. Won ModDB Mod of the Year and everything. Gonna have to tinker as the controls felt clunky out of the gate.
Offroad Mania- Heard Offroad mentioned here and elsewhere as a hidden gem for this sale and boy they weren't kidding, this thing is a blast. It's like a combination of Mudrunner & Trials by way of Art of Rally presentation. Killer physics and hundreds of bite-sized levels (start in Classic mode). Only $4.
Dorfromantik- Enjoyed Dorf ever since trying it during one of the Steam Next Fest events last year. Put it on hold waiting for a sandbox endless mode. Now it's here and being mentioned in GOTY conversations inspired me to dive in.
Starsector - The only title still on my radar. Not on sale and not on Steam (or any other launcher, lol). But I find myself continually drawn back to it in my mind. $15 really isn't a heavy lift at this point. Def. on my shortlist atm.
All and all a pretty active sales season for me as I've slowed down over the years. Pretty funny that 2 of the 3 breakout hits so far, Rings of Saturn and Offroad Mania were both $5 range.

Yeah I might bite in choice for mafia, probably cheaper than buying it, granted I get the pause offer.
My son's been asking for the Henry Stickmin collection on the iPad. I might have to unpause just for that.

Yeah but it was treated as an add on for the existing game if you already owned it. Here it's its own thing.
NGS doesn't have much content (even with the recent winter update), so it's not too hard to keep up with it while playing another MMO, depending on how much free time you have.
Their current roadmap has notable updates every 2 months (such as the first major boss urgent quest in February), minor updates such as seasonal events in the remaining months, and the next major update in June.
While i really liked DS; i don't feel like it's the kind of game i would play again.
All the fun was in the exploration and conquering the world for the first time.
