Mmh, tempted to make a ’what game are you waiting for in 2022’ thread. The little I saw listed, while not horrendous, left me very nonplussed.
I should also make a ‘what are the CRPG of 2022 thread’. But on that front it really felt sparse the last time I looked into it.

Or it’s my horrible gaming lull that colors my view.

Now I know what I will be playing for the foreseeable future, a replay of mass effect! also nice to see outer wilds come back, hopefully it has fancy new next gen enhancements this time.

This months Humble is definitely not for me. I picked up a Between the Stars key cheap, already own Stickman, and that's it. I'd maybe try Iron Harvest but even then looks like is has $20 of DLC to get the full experience.

Doctor Who isn't exactly know for it's capital ship sized space ships. Not that they don't exist but there's a lot of other Sci-Fi franchises that have more memorable capital ships.

I don't know how people can motivate themselves to care about a lot of the pickins'. I consider Early Access games to be 'out' since you can buy em, too.

So it's really just Elden Ring, and a couple promises we'll see if they come to fruition.

Mass Effect coming to Gamepass is very nice, especially since I was thinking of buying it on sale. That and EAs client, while still a joke, is at least functional. it didn't even have a button to uninstall games for a while like HOW

I'm learning about banks! Cuz I'm gonna be working with banks. Kinda like my mom does actually, just completely different.

Out of the Winter Sale I only ended up buying the Jump Force Characters Pack Pass 2 because of how it's going to be delisted next month.

The game is decent. And for $20USD (the ultimate edition + character pass 2) it's not a terrible price to get it as right now.

Is it just high frame rates, widescreen support, photo mode and some cosmetics? I just bought Death Stranding too and I'm not going to refund if that's all it is. Sounds like it should be free tbh.

Those are standard features of the PC version. Director's cut content is new methods of transport, a racing mini-game, and VR mission style content, I believe. The Valve and Cyberpunk cosmetics are also already part of the base game.

For all my talk of gaming lull, and that's unfortunately the case, I have to say Falcom formula still works marvelously on me. Good combat, good bosses, not too much yap yap yap, good old video game.
So after Xanadu Next I plan to tackle Ys 7 or Tokyo Xanadu

Just be aware that Tokyo Xanadu is pretty much a completely different game, and actually has quite a bit of "yap yap". I still liked it a lot, but it is a bit weird that Falcom decided to recycle the Xanadu name here. I guess both have a focus on dungeon crawling, but that's where the comparison stops.
Given their complete focus on Ys and Trails right now, it's also up in the air if there will ever be a sequel to TX, given Falcom's crazy risk awareness.

Yup, I'm conscious of Falcom evolution on the yapyaping scale. And of the truth fact scientifically proven that solo Ys are best Ys. Buttttt... what can you do, I suppose it's still better than nothing. I expect good combat. Don't tell me the combat is bad ?

Well, 'good combat' for a multiple character game, but you catch my drift.
