Same, but the gaming laptop's a bit heavy when you wanna game on the couch/in bed, no? so you pretty much NEED a steamdeck..is what im telling myselfI now have a gaming laptop but I still want a Steam Deck . Damn you Gaben!
The only time I tried using a laptop in bed it was far from satisfying. First I don't recall it precisely but there must be an angle of vision issue, I want to use the thing while lying in bed, not sitting. And second, one thing I remember very well, is the fucking heat exhaust from the thing that gently cook your basinSame, but the gaming laptop's a bit heavy when you wanna game on the couch/in bed, no? so you pretty much NEED a steamdeck..is what im telling myself
(but yeah, as i mentioned, i wanted this thing for ages, before it even existed i kept hoping somebody would make it)
*edit: I'm super happy I have my gaming laptop either way as my main PCs GPU died recently :/ so i use it all the time now...its pretty much becoming my main computer
yep exactly. and the touchpad is no replacement for a mouse, so controlling anything is a chore. plus, battery life isnt so great on my laptop, so after a while I needed the power cord anywayThe only time I tried using a laptop in bed it was far from satisfying. This is rad, hope it works well although it is cool that we will get this same benefit on main launcher on PC.Steam :: Steamworks Development :: Steamworks Feature Update: Dynamic Cloud Sync
An improvement to Steam Cloud Saves to make it easier for players to move seamlessly from Steam Deck to other PCs.steamcommunity.com
Dynamic cloud saves are being added
There are almost assuredly third party apps that can do that. But I haven’t looked into it too much.Hell yeah
Next up would be a system to automatically set up cloud saves for all games where the devs didn't bother themselves.
Or maybe Steam should at least make them mandatory going forward.
Instead of that, Valve should just upload the Deck RAM savestates to the cloud for games like that.Hell yeah

Yep! And Lawrence Yang from Valve also retweets Deck activity a lot:The Steam Deck twitter account has been very active retweeting various developers showing their games.

I mean, this is Valve.I can't wait for the full media coverage to start, come on Valve!
I'm sure they will send out units to the media to review, those are the ones I can't wait to see!I mean, this is Valve.
What media coverage?
Well, here's hoping enough people cancel their 500GB order when their time to buy comes in late February. I don't expect it, but it would be nice.Am I the only one that checks everyday if I have been moved up in the queue?
EDIT.
WHY AM I STILL Q2!?
In addition, we're sending out press units for full review shortly. Press review embargo on Steam Deck coverage will lift on February 25th, but keep an eye out for some preview coverage and impressions before that.
Bro, I want that couch since foreverWith the deck I have once again started to think about having a "reading corner" in the future when I have money!
I mean, it's UE4 and Octopath is verified, I think we should be good.Hopefully the inevitable Steam port of Triangle Strategy works well on the Deck.
They will probably do the top games on Steam and then focus on verifying new games going forward. Unless they want to hire an army of testers to go through every hentai puzzle game and evaluate them for their Steam Deck Verified criteria, then I suspect most games will rely on crowdsourced updates as "playable" or "broken" and will be that way forever. The pace of these is a bit slow, though. Given the thousands of games on Steam, they need to verify and check a couple of hundred games every single day to make any dent into it.
Given that this is Valve, I wonder if they are trying to automate this process. Like something that installs and runs the game on a Windows machine, records the video, then does the same on a Deck, and let some AI compare the footage to decide if it's a close enough match (including replicating the same inputs, etc.)
