A new Steam client has been released and will be automatically downloaded.

General
  • Updated embedded Chromium build in Steam to 72.0.3626.121
  • Fixed the Steam updater window intermittently displaying as a small transparent rectangle if it is shown when the main Steam window is closed.
  • Fixed store trailer video playback on Windows when DPI scaling is active.
  • Fixed audio artifacts in web audio / friends notification sounds / voice chat for users with certain headsets that create multiple devices and have mono/single-channel chat output devices
  • Improved wizard that helps install SteamVR and related components (such as the Windows MR driver) when VR hardware is present.
  • Fixed an issue with the new Steam networking system where the datagram relay configuration would never become available to the application if it was the first run after starting the Steam client.
  • Updates to shared installer content will now be listed under “Steamworks Common Redistributables”
  • Fixed black box covering much of the first page of the dialog when installing multiple games on Windows

Broadcasting
  • Reduced latency for 1 on 1 viewing of friend broadcasts to less than a second

Big Picture Mode
  • Added a Big Picture Mode library filter for local multiplayer games

Steam Input
  • Added a “Controller Connected” notification to the desktop client for Steam Input enabled controllers. This can be disabled under Steam->Settings->Controller.
  • Added a “Configuration Loaded” notification to the desktop client and Big Picture when launching a game with a Steam Input enabled controller
  • Add action set layer visualization support to the controller HUD and the ability to bind beeps when applying/removing action set layers
  • Fix some cases where the Steam Input Configurator could get stuck with a blank view when previewing configurations or when deleting action sets
  • Fix some cases where adding/deleting action sets and action set layers could scramble which action set layer an “Apply Action Set Layer” binding points to.
  • Fixed modifier and volume keys not working properly as controller bindings on macOS
  • Added a “Platformer” variant of the gamepad template for the Steam Link Mobile Touch Controller with pre-laid out on-screen controls
  • Added filtering of unneeded template results in the configuration browser for controllers that don’t have touchpad or gyro inputs (ex: Xbox One, Xbox360, and Generic Gamepads)
  • Added the ability to blacklist individual DirectInput and Xinput devices in the controller settings menu. This is intended to be used when a device either erroneously shows up as two devices or shows up as a controller but isn’t one.

In-Home Streaming
  • Reduced packet loss and latency on high bandwidth streams
  • Improved automatic bitrate algorithm to rapidly handle changes in available bandwidth

Vulkan
  • Enabled Vulkan pipeline dumping and collection if Shader Pre-Caching is enabled

Steam Networking Sockets
  • Fixed issues with P2P connections sending too many keepalives on an idle connection

Linux
  • Fixed more instances of 0-byte downloads and missing Proton or data files for Steam Play titles
  • Added Steam Play configuration settings in Big Picture Mode
  • Fixed an issue where the mouse cursor would be invisible in the Steam Overlay when playing games through Steam Play
  • Fixed an issue where the Steam Client wouldn’t automatically update or download Proton before launching games through Steam Play
  • Fixed additional cursor and mouse grabbing issues with the overlay on Steam Play games.
  • Improve support for Steam Library on NTFS mounts

macOS
  • Fixed kernel panic in audio capture driver when streaming on macOS 10.14

No joke, that is a big one for me... It has happened multiple times that me and my friends where sitting in the living room, started Steam streaming and couldn't sort for games we could play together randomly ... Nice update

I know a lot of us are disappointed with Era, but I think we should slow it down.

It's not a good look. :steam_pig_deadpan:
yup, agreed ... good idea ... let's talk about games - they're MUCH more exciting anyway! :D

speaking of which - anyone played Pathway yet? what do you guys think about it?

the reviews (user and regular) aren't all that great tbh

Well now that LEFT ALIVE got updated I have to go back to that and beat it at least once I hope.

It's so dang janky and performance heavy though. Oof. I was ready to drop it entirely tbh, even after stanning for it "oh it'll be a cult classic." But the more I play the more I think no freakin' way can it even hope to reach that level. It's hopeless that game.

but many people were wrong to judge it solely on looks. As I've said, once the graphics are turned up you could very easily compare it to any modern AAA game.

Yeah, I'm going to have another go at LEFT ALIVE over the weekend. I just found Chapter 2? a bit frustrating and then got distracted by other games but seeing the patch pop up has me interested again. Sure it has some issues and a bit of polish but i was enjoying it once i got into my groove with it. I'll just burn through the story as some of the side missions are not easy on a first run without perks.

Here's the thread for Ludonarracon, it's obviously quiet at the moment but hopefully it'll be more active during the event.
MC Thread - Ludonarracon 2019

I hope it does well because it would be relatively easy to expand the idea to other genres and run them more regularly or have seasonal themed events. It would certainly aid discovery especially if smaller indie games were included.

Yup, same here. Chapter 2 is also where I temporarily quit. Once the side-missions open up, I got tempted to do them and it just ended up being beyond frustrating trying to stealth through it all. All the backtracking and route-planning,

Did the Left Alive patch improve enough to make it worth a purchase?
Oh goodness no. Especially not at full price. (But a decent sale purchase would probably be okay.)

I posted the patch notes a page or five back I will try to find and edit the link into this post. :)

I made the mistake of dropping Obra Dinn for a month or so, and when I tried to jump back in I was utterly lost. I think I got pretty far in too. Don't know if I can muster the endurance to go through that again :')

AAT is a blast. I haven't gotten to the third game yet though. Got a little burnt out after doing 1 and 2 back to back.
I'm currently at 25/60 crews identified and while I haven't consulted a guide so far, the crew members with three chevrons are being difficult to identify. Such as the Chinese crewmembers, for example, since they almost never interacted with other crews except when translating for the Formosans.

If you enjoyed what you played so far, I highly recommend continuing with the game. Not only because the investigation parts makes it feel rewarding, but the mystery itself is super interesting. It's basically this (appropriated from the Steam Community forums):

Ace Attorney is great too. I really wanted the game to sell well (Currently sitting at #2 Visual Novel top sellers) so that Capcom has a good reason to port the other 3 games.

After kinda pushing myself to play Borderlands 2 (playing it back to back after finishing Borderlands was a bad idea), I'm finally back to Enderal.
And wow, I'm instantly hooked again. Borderlands 2 can wait.

Go play Enderal, y'all. You can check out my impressions in the review section.

I know that they got a mixed reception, but i enjoyed the games from Three Fields (those available on Steam).I've been playing recently the first Danger Zone. That game and Dangerous Golf seem more polished than Danger Zone 2.Also, when Dangerous Golf was in development, the team was larger (11 people then).

Steam Proton continues to be such an amazing thing. Can just play Whispers of a Machine, the new game of the Kathy Rain devs on my Linux laptop without having to setup Wine or anything, just on the press of a button.

People calling Valve out for doing too little or not deserving the cut are so full of shit.

It's good that BPM got an update, but I'm still waiting for them to fix the BPM blue screen issue. (Not BSOD, but occasionally the BPM UI elements won't render, leaving just the dark blue background until I delete config.vdf from the config folder.)

Will Tron 2.0, Disney Infinity etc also be removed? Thankfully, i already have them in my library.I don't think Disney has any plans to start their own game store/client (at the moment). When asked a relevant question in the recent investor meeting, Bob Iger didn't answer, because (he said) whenever he says something about games, always creates problems (not the exact quote).

Weird article, with way too much speculation.

A few of the comments stuck with me though, like how when next-gen hits minimum requirements might go up again, and how in general we should see better assets. (Because consoles have a way of setting the bottom line or whatever.)

Another comment mentioned that if GPU prices continue to be outrageously high, it will be hard to turn down consoles that offer so much for so little in price. (Comparatively.) And while I don't ever see myself going back to the overly-restrictive console lifestyle (i like mods, cheats, and ReShade too much :p), I do see the mans point. High-End GPU prices are whack. 😅 (And I say that as a 1080ti owner.)

Disney keeps going back and forth when it comes to video games.
One day they are closing their development studios. The other they remind themselves they own a big pile of properties and games, and start making plans to re-release them, or license them to other publishers.

Fortunately, I own almost all their games on Steam, especially the Tron games, since I like the franchise (and love the original film :) ).

I could see Disney taking games down to put on their own store at some point but would Tron: Evolution be the first one they'd take down?
Is there maybe a licensing issue?
Probably a licensing issue. Maybe some of the tech? The soundtrack?
Either way, it's a strange choice.
Hopefully, everyone who wanted it go it before it was taken down.
