Anniversary Collection Arcade Classics JP · SubID: 358787

Looking more into this, I don't see any kind of restriction on ACTIVATION, so I guess the key could be redeemed from any region? Only thing it restricts are trading/gifting and purchasing.
yeah, it should activate just fine if you can get your hands on that key

Oh FFS really??!
Every time I think there's a bottom to this shitty saga...
tbh it looks more a case of epic moneyhatting their new game ...

but also wanting to give away World of Goo ... but they told them to maybe patch it since the PC version is ancient now ... and since they're paying them for the "free" giveaway - the patch is timed exclusive as well

Wouldn't be surprised if part of this work was already done along with the Switch port and they were looking at updating the PC version to help promote their new game. Then Epic gets involved.

I'm probably stupid and that's just not how this shit works though.

no, no ... i'm pretty sure you're right on the money tbh ... wouldn't be the first time epic did this (Journey was going to come to PC anyway ... and then epic stepped in ... same with all the David Cage dreck)

Valid point, game is getting positive reviews not because of the game itself, it is not even given away for free on Steam. Where's the outrage? Will Valve flag this too? Hmhm.
of course not, lol

What is it? The tweet isn't showing up for me.

Edit: Oh, it's a reddit link. It's banned here.

Metro Exodus did get too I think. (Positive reviews with fuck epic)
No outcry somehow from the usuals.
Yeah while I don't mind the positive reviews Unity got in this example, doesn't that harm the validity of its reviews strictly as a tool to evaluate the game's quality? At least going by some people's logic :thinking-face:

Why did sauce of the past need 188 save files... I only beat the game once...

Unless these were from my iron man attempt?

Epic must have raised an entire department that's looking for new ways to frustrate Steam users. That department keeps delivering.
Naaah. Their "edgy" moves by now just seem laughable.

Seriously, just laugh at them, and move on. There are so many worthwhile games, and worthwhile developers, releasing every single day on Steam, GOG, itch.io, and others, it really seems pointless to "cry" about not getting a game or two.

I barely have time to play the games I want, let alone losing my time and cool over the EGS.
If these developers don't want my money, I'll just spend it elsewhere. ;)

The ancient japan one never got a translation anywhere I think, so that's probably not gonna happen anytime soon
Kenzan's plot involves child prostitution so it's a absolute no go, Ishin the second historical Yakuza spin-off is in the realm of possibility and i think i read somewhere recently they are actually thinking about localizing it now.

there were two!? damn ... now i want them even more!

I think that we might see Yakuza Ishin being localized and having a western release for PS4 and PC at the same time. At least its not completely out of the realms of possibility, I think. I'll be hoping for that for sure.

If they're going to put in the effort, I hope it gets the Kiwami treatment with the new engine

Part of that wouldn't surprise me, but is there really all that much that can be done to world of goo at this point besides resolution related work?
The idea of an exclusive patch on pc is pretty galling. Epic really going for broke on breaking new ground on ruining the landscape of pc gaming

fucking hell, Bernardo! O_O

Seems odd Epic would pay for an exclusive patch for an 11 year old game.
i'd say it's a part of the deal ... like, their new game will almost definitely be exclusive ... and since they're already doing that, epic wanted to give away World of Goo for "free" but since the port is ancient - they probably asked if they could maybe update it a little bit

either that or Tomorrow Corp were already planning to update World of Goo on their own (maybe as a promotion for their new game since they all take place in the same universe) and epic just stepped in, gave them a big bag of money but said they have to make the update exclusive as well

it was probably the latter tbh

And that's why their next game is most likely part of deal too.
at this point - i'd say 99% certain
