It's okay Gevin, you gotta shloot your shlot.
They won't.I'm not a petty person, so I hope those comment wont come back to bite them in the ass. But it will funny to watch if it comes to that.
Probably Epic will pay them if they don't sell a certain amount of copies.Ah, if they didn't get money upfront how the hell did they secured stability? Sweeney paid in stock? Diamonds? Baby blood?
They need to fire whoever signed that deal.Rebel Galaxy Outlaws devs claiming that there's no difference between 1st party and 3rd party exclusives
It also seems they didn't get any money up front, unlike Coffee Stain.
i want to believe this wont happen but it will probably happen. They won't.
With the anti-consumer direction the whole gaming industry is heading towards, they will be hailed as frontrunners and enablers by the gaming press, publishers and pretty much everyone other than us, games.
Risk of Rain 2 is about 500.000 I thought. Probably more now? Risk of Rain 2 tops 650,000 players in first week - GematsuOne wonders how many copies Risk of Rain 2 and Forager, at least have sold thus far. Someone should contact the developers and ask if they could share this info.
Man, I was forced to work on a weekend ONCE and I was fucking livid (the project was a mess anyway), I cant imagine being expected to work 100h weeks PLUS weekends.
... and on a completely unrelated note:
That's just the cost of taking on the greedy, gargantuan, incompetent, TERRIBAD Valve.
... and on a completely unrelated note:
Absolutely disgusting. People need to work 100 hours a week so this asshole can be even more obscenely rich.

pretty much, yeah ... fuck epic, fuck Tim, and fuck the entire AAA industry (this shit happens pretty much everywhere) ... let it all burn to the groundMan, I was forced to work on a weekend and I was fucking livid (the project was a mess anyway), I cant imagine being expected to work 100h weeks PLUS weekends.
All while Tim drinks champagne and fights with people on Twitter.
yes ... yes, it isAbsolutely disgusting. People need to work 100 hours a week so this asshole can be even more obscenely rich.
they still do ... nothing has changed (and probably won't change any time soon)That's pretty awful that Fortnite developers had to work so much.
If you think indie devs don't work 100 hour weeks, you're deluding yourself.pretty much, yeah ... fuck epic, fuck Tim, and fuck the entire AAA industry (this shit happens pretty much everywhere) ... let it all burn to the ground
oh, i know .... trust meIf you think indie devs don't work 100 hour weeks, you're deluding yourself.

You guys just want to hate on Epic xDDDDD also did you know that Valve has been sitting on their asses for 15 years now? I logged into Steam in 2009 and wow it was horrible! It def needs some competition! Also, what is GMG? Sounds sketchy xD they're not like Epic that came up with thar brilliant idea of battle royale! It continues to be hilarious (but mostly sad) how people can lionize Epic (in whatever fucking context) and pretend they care about video game developers.
This is a great sum up of comments from people defending EGS.You guys just want to hate on Epic xDDDDD also did you know that Valve has been sitting on their asses for 15 years now? Valve is pretty much the ideal place to work though. Valve don't do anything yet their store keeps getting features and they keep releasing hardware. Can you imagine working a place where the products you sell keep improving even with everyone being complacent and lazy? Valve's take on VR will be announced soon yet no one moved their butts!I can't imagine how it feels for Epic employees to see all the success and money Fortnite makes and realize that they're treated worse than dogs of medieval royalty while their boss playing Game of Thrones with Gaben. At least Valve employees seems to be mostly happy with their job.
I have a theory. In reality Gaben is not human, he's a highly advanced android from the future pretending to be an average American who secretly builds Skynet (code name HL3), he also the only one who really works at Valve. Tim Sweeney learned it the hard way, and now he restlessly fights for humanities future.Valve is pretty much the ideal place to work though. Given how many people still believe in that 'passing the savings to the consumer' bs, I dont doubt people believe that Tim walks around the office in Santa Claus cosplay giving 6 figures bonus checks to their employees. If anyone thinks actual developers as in employees who actually work on game get any of Epic's money...
What makes you say that?I think Origin might have gone Offline...
Forcing yourself to do it vs being forced to by others isn't the same thing, even if the reasons and end result areIf you think indie devs don't work 100 hour weeks, you're deluding yourself.
No no noI just realized, as we're going to have a GotY voting, it should be for all plaforms ala Era.
So, basically blind vote?No no no
Let's make the couragious choice and have a GOTY voting limited to EGS games.
Neither is a "good" thing, but there's a huge difference between a faceless corporation encouraging 100 hour weeks, and self-employed businesspeople choosing to work 100 hour weeks. If you think indie devs don't work 100 hour weeks, you're deluding yourself.
Despite saying I wouldn't do it I ended up nearly at the end of NG++ (with some save scumming for the endings) and modifying the xp multiplier to get the last few skills (the grind wasn't worth it)./ISPOILER]
Worry not ... at somepoint in an undefined distant future it will ... just trust me ... it will ... you just can't see that the people who complained because they wanted a larger piece of the pie are going to lower the price to make just the same amount of money they do now -Given how many people still believe in that 'passing the savings to the consumer' bs, I dont doubt people believe that Tim walks around the office in Santa Claus cosplay giving 6 figures bonus checks to their employees.
