I missed this update on the Halo insider flights. Apparently the PC version is more complicated than they expected and the flights might not start this month, though they're still aiming for April.

Honestly, how is getting Halo: Reach set up for PC so hard? Sega has teams of two or three handling the ports of their old console games to PC, while I think the whole of the MCC has two teams of hundreds working on it. Reach is also going to be initially releasing without user-created replays or maps, so that should cut down on a lot of the complexity.

apparently ... and QLOC can't do anything on their own if NRS won't give them the patched stuff to implement either
wow that sucks. from the messy ingame economy to this, I don't think I'll try out the game anytime soon.

They talked how they wanted an experience as native to PC as possible. I can see how porting an old Xbox game and adding a UI that does all the things you want (and is usable with a cursor) can be a bit of work, depending on how it's coded.

Making a simplistic port that barely fits the platform is easy, making a great PC port takes time and work. And while I'm sure the Halo teams are huge, do we know how many are working on the PC stuff specifically? Tend to be smaller teams, going by experience.

yup ... so they're just sitting there, twiddling their thumbs, and waiting for NRS to finally give them the stuff they need

at least the port is decent - QLOC did what they do best ... so at least there's that

Should also be said certain things in software development are not solveable by just throwing more manpower at a problem. Like, if one of the things you need to do is "code a menu with mouse support" and you estimate it takes 100 hours. Throwing 100 people at it does not suddenly make it done after hour. (And how would you even divide this among 100 people).

Apparently the notice only comes up if you block certain scripts. That's leading some to assume it's just leftover code from the last game.

It's been an interesting Thursday - Mortal Kombat11 pc port sucks, NRS ban 'pc' from their chat.
Tim Sweeney obviously seeing the forest for the trees, states he'd do better if his competition intentionally hobbled themselves and he'd be nicer to them. Then Sonic Racing PC up and gets delayed into nearly the fall.

It's only 2pm, what can the rest of the day bring.

at this point - i'm not so sure anymore :(

they never released that Snoopy game on PC either :(

at least with Crash they had an excuse to go back to it - the Xbone version ... with Spyro all the console versions are already out .......

I bought the $15 3,500 gems pack a couple of hours ago and used 3,000 to get 15 packs. Gonna go get 10 more through coins :3

TBH I don't care for Liliana, and would've preferred if it focused on Gideon (how'd he survive all those zombies?) or Kaya.

Surely Crash trilogy did well enough on Steam to warrant porting Spyro and CTR? I personally even expect Spyro to release this year. Hopefully no EGS shenanigans though :sick:

I'm rather disappointed to say that after only 3 maps in I'm already rather over One Finger Death Punch 2 :(

It's sadly rather repetitive already. The appeal of the first game held up much longer than this; don't get me wrong the first was completely new and this isn't, but it's been so long since then I expected it to still feel fresh :confused:

Still it's a game to play from time to time just to yell some kung fu kiais while rhythmatically killing stick men :p As is I play up to 25% of a map each play session to not get burned out and then move to another game.

Yeah I've actually been 100%-ing maps so far and I feel like that's the worst way to play it.
Odd to say that, best way to play it is to deliberately not play it all, like the hinterlands :p

I'll probably just rush to the end and play something else soon.
