Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney thinks the Tesla protests are being covertly funded by George Soros, Reid Hoffman, and Tesla competitors using shady proxy orgs they can't fathom that the backlash to this burning clownshow could be at all genuinebsky.app
We are excited to announce that Loci, an industry-leading developer of AI technology for 3D content understanding and tagging, has joined Epic Games.
No but you see they're going to help with the Metaverse (that has less players than games like Schedule I).Got money to buy AI shite but not enough to keep staff on payroll.
I was being a bit disingenuous as spring is usually Fortnite's low point for player numbers and it still does >2-2.5 million on the weekend. Also the CS numbers are inflated as there are a lot of bots farming cases, but Valve might be in the middle of a ban wave so numbers could drop a bit. I don't deny there's some degree of botting in CS, but I don't think it's as egregious as say Banana or Team Fortress 2.The fact CSGO can get similar numbers to Fortnite despite CS being PC only and Fortnite being on almost everything is very impressive.
Epic Games v. Apple judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers just ruled that, effective immediately, Apple is no longer allowed to collect fees on purchases made outside apps and blocks the company from restricting how developers can point users to where they can make purchases outside of apps.
As part of the ruling, Judge Rogers says that Apple cannot:
- Impose “any commission or any fee on purchases that consumers make outside an app”
- Restrict developers’ style, formatting, or placement of links for purchases outside of an app
- Block or limit the “use of buttons or other calls to action”
- Interfere with consumers’ choice to leave an app with anything beyond “a neutral message apprising users that they are going to a third-party site”
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney says that, following this ruling, the company will bring Fortnite back to the US App Store “next week.” Sweeney is also offering a “peace proposal” from Epic: “If Apple extends the court’s friction-free, Apple-tax-free framework worldwide, we’ll return Fortnite to the App Store worldwide and drop current and future litigation on the topic.”
Tim says big EGS news coming soon
I’m guessing mobile related.
0% Store Fee For First $1,000,000 in Revenue Per App Per Year
Starting in June 2025, for any Epic Games Store payments we process, developers will pay 0% fees on their first $1,000,000 in revenue and then our regular 88%/12% revenue share when they earn more than that.
Epic Games Store Webshops
In June 2025, we are releasing a new feature enabling developers to launch their own webshops hosted by the Epic Games Store. These webshops can offer players out-of-app purchases, as a more cost-effective alternative to in-app purchases, where Apple, Google, and others charge exorbitant fees. With new legal rulings in place, developers will be able to send players from games to make digital purchases from webshops on any platform that allows it, including iOS in the European Union and United States.
As an extra bonus, players spending in Epic Webshops will also accrue 5% Epic Rewards on all their purchases.

I feel dirty but I am actually glad this happened. Next, go after the console makers and Alphabet. Break down these walled gardens.
