Yeah I barely use my PS5 as well. Outside the exclusives there's not much I would prefer to play there than on my PC.

Never been interested in single-player Pokemon ever since Pokemon Black/White and its sequel. I'd still buy the later ones due to my obsession of building teams but I sleep-played through the actual games.

Legends: Arceus actually made me a bit more interested but I hope it's more open in the actual game. If not, then I don't know.

PS5 has been in stock about 4 times today in the UK. No sign of a Series X for ages, ffs Microsoft sort it out

No wonder they're so far behind, their production is terrible
Are you on a stock drop Discord by any chance? They tend to get the scoop on the deals really fast. I managed to snag a PS5 thanks to one of them.

I bought the Pokemon Unite battle pass. As someone who hates the practice, I feel like a dirty hypocrite. In all seriousness though, I enjoy the game for what it is. I can play a quick match or two every day and be fine with it.

So Aliens: Fire Team looks to be a run-of-the-mill but fun Co-Op shooter with Aliens IP for added nostalgia and fun. Some people are saying it reminds them of L4D but Aliens. Looks decent and solid enough if you're looking for an online co-op shooter to play with friends while having some beers.
I was kind of expecting a trainwreck but this does look competent to me who has no idea about online co-op and these type of games, lol.

Random video posted on the new EG forums.

edit: people saying now that it's quite tricky in places and you'll have to coordinate as a team to get through some points.

Really annoyed they're launching Infinite this year when it's still so hard to get the series X model. I guess they feel it's fine to do because they're launching on PC and the previous consoles, but I feel they should have reconsidered. I have credit on Amazon for it (series X), but every time I check the site they only have the S model in stock, or a bunch of grossly overpriced X units on their shitty marketplace.

Importing the new Shin Chan. Now to see it be announced for localization in a month like what happened with Gnosia (and that was a double whammy now that it is also coming to PC). :goodmorningblob:

More evidence of Xenoblade 3: Mitsuda was recording with Anúna yesterday. Anúna was featured in Xenoblade 2 and it seems that the group is back!

I've only watched playthroughs of Xenoblade Chronicles (so far) so it's not like I'm a big fan, but a Xenoblade 3 sounds so exciting, like the next big Nintendo game. I want to see how it improves and looks.

Yes, it is very exciting. Monolith Soft is both ambitious and efficient in making games. I enjoy their games so much although all of them have obvious flaws.

Indeed. I can't wait. Hopefully this gets revealed in a potential September Nintendo Direct. I can easily see it as the final announcement if it happens.

Anyway, it's crazy that there will be 2 new Xenoblade games for the first Switch. It must be so awesome for fans of the series with these games and also the remaster.

Tune in next Thursday, September 9 at 1:00pm Pacific Time / 9:00pm BST / 10:00pm CEST for a look into the future of PS5. The Showcase will weigh in at around 40 minutes and include updates from PlayStation Studios and some of the industry’s most imaginative developers, for games releasing this holiday and beyond. And stick around after the presentation to get more updates from some of the studio teams featured in the Showcase.

One thing to note: PlayStation’s next generation of VR won’t make an appearance this time. But there will still be plenty of great PS5 games from developers large and small. We hope you can join us!

Good on Sony for backing down and doing what they had originally promised. Kinda lame that they are doing a $10 upgrade program for future games instead of Smart Delivery, but at least it's a small positive step.

Them backtracking on it so fast just really shows how pointless their pricing strategies are.

Its all about greed and profitability. a shitty grift to squeeze an extra 5-10$ from people.

Finally turned on my Xbox after some time. I thought a tornado of dust would come up from the vent hahaha.

I might just jump straight to Psychonauts 2.

Kinda fits here a bit more than Steam thread, but new Simon article discussing indie sales and consoles (though does bring up Steam a fair amount). Interesting read and lines up with what has been discussed in recent times.

Essentially, discussing how sales of indies has likely seen some struggles on consoles as of late.

My own spit-balling, but PC is likely far from immune, there are just so many more ways things are resurfaced, especially on Steam. It is not unusual for me to pick up games many, many years old compared to my Switch where if I do not purchase a title near launch, it is likely going to be out of sight, out of mind (with maybe the exception of Nintendo's own first party offerings).

Discovery feature is the key here and honestly PC is inherently better on this front than on consoles. It is very easy to look for games with some clicks whereas on console it is usually difficult to find games, not due to interface (of course, steam store's UI is pretty good) but the way of navigation through game pad.

Indies sales is really a multifold topic which is very difficult to digest into a few sentence. Mindshare, price, the effect of GaaS... the article explains it pretty well. One thing I want to add is how Game Pass and PS Plus change people's behavior towards indies. Many people would rather wait for them getting included in these services rather than buying them. Similar phenomenon exists on PC where people would wait for a game bundled in Choice or Fanatical's bundle.

In present times there are tons of ways to market a game, but at the same time there are also tons of external factor impacting how the game can sell. Many good gams are buried or forgotten with no good reasons. Being a customer, honestly what I can do is just trying to promote my beloved games on places like MC so more people can remember the existence of these games.

Yeah, I often buy games on Steam that are many years old, but I don't think about it. On my PS5 and Switch I mainly see new stuff. If there is a game that is many years old I need to know about it if Im gonna buy it.

Sony got Insomniac working their ass off with all these games. They basically gonna release 4 games from 2020-2024 lol. Wouldn't be suprised if Sony got them doing a new VR game too as they are most experienced to actually make something with their past.

The Wolverine game better be gritty and dark. The release of that seems like the time I will buy a PS5. That should be right around the time of the slim version ;)

But yea not much else looked interesting. Forspoken looks good but gameplay/bosses will make or break it.

Ragnarok looks more of the same so that is disappointing. But it makes sense they started development for it 2 or 3 years ago and its not numerical sequel in title.

I tested my repaired fat PS3. Turns out it has CFW installed by the last owner. The controller is a counterfeit, can only play wired and cannot play PS2 games. Most importantly when it runs, it sounds like a jet engine which really scares me.

I will put it into storage for now. In the meantime, it's time to think about how to mod it so I can reduce the noise and risk of overheating.

Same as the PS4 or anything i imagine. Pop it open and give it a clean, blow out dust from inside etc and maybe look at reapplying the thermal paste or pads. If it's super loud maybe get a new fan too. With a console as old as the PS3 i reckon there's plenty of info on cleaning one out there.

No no, I have completely cleaned it. It still sounds like a jet engine lol.

Xenoblade 3 pleasssssseee.
Yeah, I hope we see something. They always seem very ambitious and different from their previous games, that I just want to see what new things they can come up with.

Would that actually launch between now and March though?
