BBC report on the state of the music industry

Spotify only pay there artists between £0.002 and £0.0038 per stream. YouTube is £0.00052 and apple £0.0059.

In general the creative side only ever receive 16% of the money brought in from their own sales. Even then that has to be shared around the likes of the writers as well.

so while championing fairness for creators he chose the one industry that truly seems to hate the creative side and a company that seems to give Amazon a run for its money in the scuminess stakes.

Think I will switch to Apple Music. Sucks since Spotify has such a good music recommending system, the personal playlist they update every Monday is pretty much the only thing I listen to discover new music. On Apple Music I had such hard time to find new music I liked.

Apple Music is very good, I don’t miss Spotify as all.

Yeah it depends how you use it, as I said I mostly use streaming services to find new music and on that front Spotify wins without any contest. But I do like Apple Music just fine, so will probably get Apple One subscription.
I want an Apple One sub as well, but I want an iPad before jumping in. I actually was considering buying one yesterday but I restrained myself :p

I just switched to iPhone after donating my Android to my father.

Apple music is great, even the recommendations. Just a couple of things that I'm missing:

1.) It doesn't automatically put your "favorites" into a play list. I don't understand why.
2.) It also creates a "recommended" Music station for you, in parts made out of your favorites and new music based on your taste. And it is doing a fine job, so far. But I can't find a way to download/preload that station. Which sucks.

ALSO:
If you try out Apple Music on an apple device, got to settings, music and set Dolby Atmos to "always on".
Now search for Dolby Atmos in the Music App, put in Headphones and be amazed.
(I recommend Riders on the Storm - The Doors as your first song. The rain in the background is amazing)

Giving them a try on the three month free trial.

Opened their browser page for it and thought I had loaded Spotify up at first glance.

Apple Arcade is actually good. Especially Fantasian is impressing me.
I also looked into Apple TV+ on my LG TV and I must admit: From all the services out there. Apple is by far streaming the best HDR, 4k picture.
Only Blu Ray looks even better, imo.

But Apple Music has no PC App :S
You can use it from a browser, which is at least something...
It's still Apple, after all. They want you to buy into their hardware.

KH, NEO and FF7R are all timed exclusives, probably signed at the same time.
Playing through FF7R just a few months after I first time played through the original was a bad choice.

All of them should be rather easy waits for me. Only NEO can be a bit tempting, but should be still fine to wait on.

Having only gotten halfway through FF7R and kind of just stopping, I am more excited to be getting a better version of FF6 on PC (less said about the mobile one the better). Who doesn't love suplexing a ghost train.

FF7R is not a bad game as far as I am concerned, but I just find it is stretched far too thin. You could drop all the side quests in that game and I don't think it would make that much of a difference.

Regarding the music discussion, it's interesting to have numbers on this. I mostly just listen to independent music, but seeing those numbers supports the idea I already had in the back of my head that it's probably far more efficient to download it and support the artists I like with a 5€ donation than trying to go through official distribution channels (which are both more annoying and far less effective in getting my money to the creators).

Watching LTT's video about the Steam Deck it's very clear the 649 USD model is the one to go with.
Dammit! I went woth the 569 GBP model. I wonder if i can change it?

I don't have Apple kit so i've never used Apple Music or even considered it. I don't have a Spotify account either, maybe i do but it's a free one i might have used years ago with Alexa.

My Bandcamp library is overflowing and has been for years and years. My music habits are odd, i'll listento streams or playlists on youtube, buy things on Bandcamp or maybe Amazon Music if it's not on Bandcamp then i download the albums and put them on my phone or storage. Reading the new numbers from Spotify make sure i'll double-down on direct purchasing or Bandcamp in future.

I just wish the bandcamp app had better management tools. Buy a couple of discography bundles and it's nearly impossible to find stuff.

Me neither.
I'm convinced that we need to start executing a plan B: How to survive and live with Climate change.
Nobody seems to be interested in executing Plan A: How to stop climate change, anyway.

And I understand that Plan A is a complex and problematic topic and doing it in a fair way to everybody is even more difficult. Probably even impossible.

I've seen all the articles and while I'm not as pessimistic, I just feel powerless. The ball is vastly in the camp of corporations. I did what I could. I voted for green parties, I am doing my utmost not to buy meat, especially beef and try not to use the car. There is very little more I can do as a single person.

Doing something regardless how little you think it is in the big picture is better than doing nothing. Even just knowing about this is better than being ignorant.

There is a reason billionaires don’t give a fuck about climate change, they already know all this but they are hoarding and building a safe future for themselves for when the shit hits the fan. When millions and millions die, they will just live their nice cozy lives in seclusion.
At least they are using the last couple of semi good years to measure dicks in space.

Things I experienced once and now I’m good, no more please, scratch that off the list.

- watched saw a man masturbating on the tram

I’m not the most perceptive person, mostly because I don’t really care about my environment in my shitty city I suppose. But yeah, on second thought it explains the odd vibe I got from the other passengers.

Li Kao That'd cure me of my habit of zoning out on public transport for sure!

As long as you didn't applaud and ask for an encore i'm gonna assume most people realised you were in a world of your own and not actually watching him.

In more positive news, my ZS5s started sounding really muddy and the right felt as if my ear by clogged with water. Received the moondrop Arias today and holy crap, are they good. The soundstage is a bit smaller but I feel like I can hear again. They are pricey but so good. The ZS5s served me well but the Arias are also so much more comfortable in my ear. I don't think I can ever go back to something shaped like an angular stealth plane to shove in my ear.

Now I wish I knew how the Starfield sounded.

I may have used the wrong word, I didn’t watch him. And people gave me strange looks because they were awkward and didn’t know where to look. I was not, and I believe no one was, the target audience for that little performance.

Now why did I use watch instead of see. I’m weirdly angry at myself for this language mistake. I’m fucking rusty, this is not good.
And I have another man’s dick burned in my brain.

As I was saying, ok, cool, this is a new one, but no more, please.

As tempting as it is to pin it all on the rich, this pandemic has made it crystal clear that there are way too many people that do not give a fuck about others and will not do anything that might mildly inconvenience them for the sake of the future.

All I can hope for right now is that I'm long dead by the time things get truly bad.

Of course, but imagine how much billionaires could do if they wanted to?

And the blame that lies with them is that they are often tied to industries mostly responsible.
