Remedy's next AAA project has to be Alan Wake 2. It just has after how Control's AWE expansion ended.
An Alan Wake remaster would also be very wise.

Day one on both.

If Remedy doesn't take the Epic partnership opportunity to make Alan Wake 2 it would be the biggest gaming blunder of the decade for me.

I don't care if AW 2 is exclusive to EGS. I need it. Alan Wake is one of my favorite games of all time.

At this point so much time has passed from Alan Wake that I'd rather them leave it like that than deliver something that can never live up to the hype.

That's what Valve did with Alyx anyway.

Doesn't the ending from Alyx imply they want to make more Half LIfe VR games with Gordon in it, which would basically be Half LIfe 3, however you call it?

90% sure it is AW2

That is correct and still some people didn't understand entirely what Alyx was about xD

Does Steam automatically unpack preloaded games when it's available?

I'm thinking about leaving my PC on as it'll take 30 minutes at least.

The last few posts remind me i have Alan Wake and Alyx in my Library unplayed :(
This christmas, this christmas will be the one i get Alan Wake done. I still have my GOG backup on an external drive somewhere... oh, no i don't, that drive died earlier this year. Dammit.

I started warching a playthrough of Alyx back when it launched but honestly got bored and never went back to it. I shoud watch the rest at some point but watching other people play bores me out of my mind and the first few hours aren't very exciting in terms of plot.

You probably already know, but it is a better experience playing it.
Nothing (so far) was able to showcase the VR experience of games correctly or in a meaningful way. It only works first hands.

Yeah, i hate to say it but VR is definitely a technology that you need to experience for yourself to know what other people are raving about... and that's the problem with it unfortunately. I still love VR tho and i'm glad i was able to get onboard even if i do spend most of my VR time playing Audioshield and stuff like that.

I'll be honest, when I see something that has both this scale and level of detail I'm amazed that it doesn't take at least 10 years to make, even with a team of several hundred. When you start to think about the amount of work involved in everything from creating the assets for buildings, vehicles, objects, etc to the handling of each vehicle, all the possible character interactions, physics, NPC behaviour, planning the layout of the city and the architecture of every building, all the different weapons, etc, it's just insane, the scope of a project like this is mind-boggling.

If they would work normal 40 hours weeks, and have a decent work life balance, it would probably take them 10 years.
So at least you get some decent results in terms of productivity by forcing people to work like slaves.

Yeah, I forgot but I was going to mention that. With the amount of crunch involved it's probably the equivalent to 10 years in 40 hour weeks.

On a different note, Geoff assembled quite a line-up to present the VGAs, I hope it's not all style and no substance.
Having Lyn (Persona 5) do a live peformance is awesome.

Yep, pretty much. I mentioned in my review of HL Alyx on Steam that it sets them up perfectly to make two games if they wish to. A proper Half Life sequel and another VR game.

You can have one follow the story of Alyx now in the employ of the G-Man or whoever he works for and then have a separate game that follows Gordon's quest to find Alyx.

Almost 1 million people watching Cyberpunk on Twitch.

Not bad for a singleplayer game lacking polish.

I still haven't decided what character background to play. Still don't know about male or female. Who to create. Or what difficulty to play on :anguished-face:

Gonna spend hours just probably do it all again soon after it gets more patches :anguished-face:

The thing with HL: Alyx is that it is very much the next chapter of the Half-Life series. Any future game is building off how it has pushed the narrative forward. It's just as valuable as every mainline HL game, because it is a mainline HL game rather than a spin off.

Alan Wake could do something similar in terms of having ways to ensure players out of the loop of other games can at least have some context, but very much is still for players who know the whole series. Alan Wake has an easier road, where they could just put out a cheap remaster so people can easily jump into it / bundle with a sequel if it is critical.

Don't CDPR games usually do better on GOG than Steam? I'd be amazed if it hit numbers that high :blobpanburn:
Not entirely sure about this fact, probably but one thing is for sure, I made sure I contemplated most of the possible scenarios here, so yeah, maybe, maybe not, influencers got their keys for GOG, media was a mixed bag mostly for GOG but some for Steam IIRC, and and keeping into consideration the fact that C2077 has been top seller for 3 weeks on a row and has been in the top 10 for 9 weeks (no joke) I think those numbers are not crazy to consider.

You are killing me with these alyx spoiler, I want to play it so badly..
Absolutely 0 spoiler, bro, seriously and even if you read it, you won't fully understand why it happens, so please, IF YOU CAN, play it.
