Every now and then I check out the other forums by communities that left Resetera, like Xbox Era, Install Base and Famiboards. I would say that they are all quite decent, with the exception of one: Icon Era. That place seems to house not only some of the very worst platform zealots from Era but also awful people in general.
I only check Install base to get a somewhat more sane and nuanced look at all things CCU, Sales, and industry news. But they are quite the Nintendo fans

All the best for 2025!

I still can't believe a place like Icon Era even exists. There hatred for Xbox is something else.

This looks even better than I expected from a "mere" side game (even after Gaiden was among the best in the series), Dragon Engine seems to be a champ at handling all the different systems they add, from standard Yakuza to turn based to these ship battles and of course even Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate/R.E.V.O. :smiling-face-with-heart-shaped-eyes:

The Xbox Era folks are cool. Famiboards is a no fun zone. Install Base is ok I guess.

Friends, you’re probably already know that just two days before the release, Take-Two Interactive deleted our YouTube channel without any warning or attempt to contact us.

A huge amount of effort and time was invested into the channel, including hundreds of hours of streams dedicated to the mod's development. Additionally, we lost connection with our international audience, which was a significant part of our community. The teaser trailer for GTA Vice City Nextgen Edition gained over 100 000 views and 1 500 comments in less than a day. Unfortunately, the channel was removed without any possibility of recovery.

This was a cruel move from them, but we have already accepted the situation, since we cannot influence it. We refrained from commenting, as we weren’t sure what further actions could follow. So, we decided not to take any risks which could disrupt the release.

These past two days have been emotionally tough for our team since we envisioned the release very differently — with a cozy stream dedicated to the long-awaited launch of the mod. But none of that matters anymore.

The most important thing now is that we released the project on the promised date. It’s unclear how long it will remain publicly available or whether there will be demands to take it down. We are not opposed to reuploads, but we cannot openly encourage you to do so. Do as you see fit.

P.S. Initially, the modification was planned to require the original game in order to show respect to the publisher. However, over the past two days, we have completely rebuilt the project, and it is now available as a standalone "installation-ready package". Just download, install, and play. There are no issues with version compatibility since the mod is now fully autonomous. In light of the current uncertainties, we had to make this change to ensure the mod's stable performance for the widest possible audience.

it's a great pity that Take-Two Interactive blocks modding initiatives that aim to maintain interest in their iconic games. Perhaps our project will serve as a precedent for the entire modding community.

It's a remake of Ninja Gaiden 2, the original Xbox 360 version.
The game in the collection is Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, a re-release for the PS3 that neutered the original game's difficulty and censored all the over-the-top blood spraying.
It is not a remake of the original, it's actually an Unreal Engine 5 reskin of sigma, it even contains the models :|

Don't see why that makes it not count as a remake, Demon's Souls does a similar thing. I don't get folks making some differences between the standard, sigma, black or whatever versions such a big deal, they're all good character action games and they all aren't perfect, you can understand why some changes were tried here and there, how not all are bad and they're all still definitely better than third rate action games like Stellar Blade that don't get the same flack. Character action is struggling as a genre since PS2 because apparently every Bayonetta/DMC/NG etc. has to be the best game ever, or get trashed.

Couple that with the outrage culture looking for reasons to get annoyed and people falling for it so easily and being inclined to be the first to spread the outrage before even caring to confirm any of it like they gain anything (folks even whined about characters having smaller titties which isn't even the case and they definitely upgraded even that aspect with more jiggle physics etc., just as others whined about Stellar Blade censoring, lol) and things aren't looking bright.

Now I see there's also a war on Avowed (and pretty much every other upcoming game in some way) because apparently having a Pillars of Eternity that has enough budget to go from an isometric 2D CRPG to go after a failing Bethesda in style and scope is such a bad premise that also has to be perfect or bust. Hopefully it doesn't catch on like it did for the last Dragon Age (which doesn't even look like my thing but despite review bombing/hating its USER rating on the likes of Steam is not bad at all, especially if you compare it to the previous games, but clearly the agenda posing it as evil and awful online took its toll on sales).

Even BGIII would have gotten the same flack, lord knows many tried over the character/romance options, but overcame it by being a rare landmark release.

I'm having a tiny bit of fun with Diablo 4 (free weekend), but I'm not sure I want to buy the game for €27. The game is clearly made for the console audience and/or controller, with rather slow gameplay, only 4 skill slots and most special attacks are automated.

Also, my stomach turned around a few times when I saw the map cluttered with icons and a line that indicates the shortest route I'm supposed to take. I hate modern gaming sometimes... :(

I also got no tickets for Tomorrowland for the 14th year in a row. Sold out in 20 minutes. So yeah, I'm grumpy now. Gonna make some comfort food tonight. 😉

D4 campaign is a lot of fun imo but the game has too much GAAS AAA nonsense on top. I dont regret buying it, but hard to recommend with PoE2 now.

Quickly checked out DLSS4 on my RTX 2070 in Cyberpunk. Lost about 5-10 FPS in Dogtown, or 7-14% performance loss, compared to the CNN model.. I got the impression the Transformer model made the image "punchier", but maybe it was placebo. I felt the need to tone down the Contrast Adaptive Sharpening I had enabled via ReShade, so maybe it wasn't placebo.

The upcoming driver seems to gain back the performance loss according to those that tested it, so that's good news. And yeah, it's definitely sharper on default vs CNN.

UFO 50 got a ~70MB patch for me but I can't find info (edit: here it is, lots of fixes). So this game got fully 3D remade and looks pretty damn good. A sequel is coming also. The 2D version got some extra content before too. A nice showcase of what budget (crowd fund here) can do even for a small indie studio & game.

or the team just likes to drink a lot. maybe someone had a birthday, who knows.

Honestly, Im a bit skeptical that Fable will make its 2025 release date. Would expect way more footage of actual gameplay, otherwise.
Yeah, I just find it incredibly funny that buying expensive drinks -> their game is done!!! The logic did a leap of faith.

Some leakers are commenting that Fable is targeting Dec 2025. Let's see how this goes.

Back when I was begging my parents for a Mega Drive, I remember telling a friend "if they give me the one that is bundled with Sonic, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe and Shinobi, I'll never need another videogame in my entire life."

And that was a factual statement, and you've held up your end of the bargain, right?? It's been nothing but those games, on that original Mega Drive, since then, RIGHT?!

RIGHT?!

It seems that Rebirth did pretty well CCU wise, for a late port of course. Quite a few people must have bought the twin pack too since Remake has also seen a surge in players.

notable here that falcom is doing the port in house here. they are likely reusing the xseed script so some licensing deal there as well, I assume
I woke up 30 sec ago so forgive the low effort meme.
