I don't really believe this is a true change in direction, still gossip level for now as far as I'm concerned, especially with essentially 2nd party games still coming to PC imminently, but whether it is or isn't these companies should probably try committing to a strategy for more than a few months before changing mind lol :shrugblob:

Remember how my 1st post in this thread was about how my life was going so well these days? Well, forget it. A couple whose offer on my apartment I rejected is taking me to court in order to force me to sell it to them. I'll spare you the details, but this means I can't sell my apartment to the people I did sell it to, even though I officially accepted their offer. I never thought I'd need a lawyer in real life, but here we are...

And in some time, Yotei will be announced for PC, leaving everyone including Sony themself confused of what's going on.

"Wait, didn't we scrap this?"
"Yes, boss, we did"
"So why am I seeing this PC announcement trailer for something we scrapped"
"I don't know"

Would have been fun. :P
I can already see the arguments on the other site. It'll be Horizon's PC port in 2020 all over again.

Powerful New Tools For Customizing Developer/Publisher Homepages
Better tools for presenting your studio's brand and showcasing the games you make
With today's Steam update, we've introduced powerful new tools for developers and publishers to customize their store homepages. Now you can customize your page colors and imagery while organizing your games in the best way for your collection. Capture the essence of your brand and highlight titles to best align with announcements, launches, and special promotions.

For an overview of the new tools, and how to get started, please check out our tutorial video:

Why? Build your audience on Steam

Developer and publisher homepages are an important part of building an audience on Steam and keeping them up to date with your latest releases. Even if you have only released a single title, it's still worth setting up a homepage so that fans can follow you and get notified when you release your next title.

To get started, please see Developer And Publisher Homepages documentation

As hands-on as you want to be

You can do as much or little with your new homepage as you wish. Set it up to run automatically without further edits, or get hands-on with updating as frequently as you want.

Here are a few ways you can set up your new homepage:

  • Just the defaults - The easiest setup is to simply create one of these new homepages to replace your existing homepage. The initial setup creates a page with default sections that work great out of the box for most cases.
  • Configure for automatic updates - Building on top of the default template, you can customize your new homepage with your own choice of sections that automatically populate with your latest releases and new upcoming titles.
  • Customize for special occasions - Optionally, you can stage future versions of your homepage with special graphics, video, and layout to support the launch of a new game or major update. Enable and disable alternate versions of your homepage whenever you wish.
Regardless of how you customize your page, there will always be a section at the bottom that lists out all of your products, organized by new releases, top sellers, and upcoming titles.

Default templates make it easy to get started

When you enter the new editor tools, you'll find a default configuration for your page ready to go. These are sections that we think are likely to be commonly used and useful in the most cases. These defaults also show you a bit about how the tools work. If you want, you can just hit save and then set your new page live with these defaults and you should have a pretty good page automatically.

Here is a breakdown of the default sections:

  • Popular Titles - The page starts off with a big trailer-focused section that automatically highlights your most popular titles.
  • On wishlist - The next section on the page will show the visiting user any of your games that are on their wishlist. If no games match, then the section will not appear for that user. This is handy for giving the player context and making sure they know that they're already interested in your games.
  • Recommended - This section will show the visiting user any of your games that Steam recommends for them, based on the games they've been playing lately. This uses the store tags applied to your games, so it can include both released and upcoming games in the set of recommendations.
  • Set of Creator Lists - If you had created any lists of games previously, we'll show them in this section automatically. You can also create new lists at any time by returning to your creator home dashboard.
  • Current Specials - Automatically highlights any of your games that are running a discount.
  • New Releases - Automatically shows off the newest things that your team has released on Steam.
  • Upcoming Releases - Showcases your next upcoming releases.
  • Browse all - The bottom-most section on your page will always be a tabbed section that shows new releases, top sellers, and upcoming games, with options for users to filter down by relevant tags, features, and attributes.

We've also developed some new documentation to help get started with the new editor tools: Developer/Publisher Homepage Tools Update (Steamworks Documentation)

Q. How do I create my developer homepage?

A. To get started, please see Developer And Publisher Homepages documentation

Q. I only have one game on Steam, should I still create a homepage?

A. Yes! Your studio makes a game and has fans. Give them a place to follow you and learn about whatever the next cool thing is that you're working on.

Q. My developer name currently links to my publisher. Can I change that?

A. Absolutely! And you should! Create your developer homepage and then update the links to point to your fancy new homepage. Check out the instructions above to get started.

Q. This seems complicated!

A. Setting up a new developer homepage doesn't need to be complicated. Just create a Steam Community group and start linking your games to it by visiting the 'edit store' section for each of your games and clicking the 'link' button next to your developer or publisher name.

Need help? Have questions? You can contact Steam Developer Support at any time by clicking 'support' at the top of the Steamworks website (or visiting this URL: Steam Help)

Embracer have embraced again. But this time in the comics industry. They had bought Dark Horse comics back in 2022. Well today they have got rid of the founder Mike Richardson. He was dismissed to "long-term vision to better align Dark Horse within a more connected and forward-looking group structure." All in an effort to bring in licenced products.

The funny thing is, for a long time, they where the go to for licenced comics anyway. The popularised the Aliens vs Preadtor idea, the Terminator comics where a lot better than the sequel movies. They kept Angel, Buffy and Firefly going (but ewww Joss Whedon). And for a very long time they where the face of Star Wars comics (both for good and bad).

But Embracer proving once again they don't care for the people they employ.
