I played a bit of the UNBEATABLE demo and I'm a lil confused. Why is this free? Why not just add a bit more content to this (music/backgrounds, release it for 10 or so bucks, and use that to fund the larger sequel (along with KS)?

The game has good art design, good music, and a fun lil loop. That's more than enough. Not everything has to be filled to the brim with stuff. According to the KS, they're building a story mode, which is why it's going to take 2 years ¯\(ツ)/¯ I wanted to skip the talking and walking stuff so badly.

I dunno, maybe I'm weird.

Good UW support out the box.

It Takes Two is a juggernaut that "came out of nowhere" no way in hell they were expecting this success.

30k reviews? goddamn!
I don't know how the review count works with the Friend Pass (if one copy bought can get multiple reviews), but either way it's very impressive, specially because these past weeks it appears to be fueled only by word of mouth.

Really curious if it's following a similar pattern on the other platforms.

EDIT: Okay... this is interesting. Lots of posts from China (I think) on the steam message boards for the game.

Hmh really? I have over 20 hours in RE7 and 15 in RE2 and I still have Claire to play in that.
I don't know what to say cos i'm really surprised by that 20 hrs figure for RE7

HLTB has 10 hrs for RE7 which was I think also longer than what I did it in too

If I recall correctly you can beat RE2 in about 3 hours.
Yeah but with one character and kinda not knowing where to go. To get to the true ending you need to play through it at least 3 times. It took me 15h to do so.

No idea about how long it takes to beat RE games beyond when I played them on the Playstation.
I can say that in horror games in general I do like to deliberately drag them out a bit for extra excitement. Nothing like lurking in a darkened corridor for a bit longer than nessecary just looking at the corner you have to go around :p

Been playing more PS5 today, as in more Demons and Returnal and it made me realize that playing on consoles is "tiring" or something, like after a run of Returnal I longed back to PC gaming again. The PS5 is a fast, powerful machine and the Dualsense is good and the games are great, but there really isn't more to it. Basically I think I like PC gaming more because I can do more with my PC, not only games. Kinda hard to explain, but despite how much fun I had with Returnal and Demons today, I still longed back to PC.

This isn't all that new for me, even back in the PS3/3X60/early PS4 days when I mainly played on consoles I also had a PC, but not for games, I could play some games on consoles, but then I went to PC to do something else because I got tired (?) of playing on console.

I have sort of ended up putting some stat points into pretty much everything a little, but recently I've been pivoting more into magic.
Cause that staff shoots awesome semi-homing fire-bolts that ricochet from walls and melt enemies like butter. (And got 2 more fancy skills from mastery exp).

Metro Exodus EE really looks amazing

And some more 360 screens

This makes m want to play it so much, but I'm afraid of what it will do to my poor 970.

iNTEREsting. So balancing stats and picking a weapon whose abilities suit one's preference of playstyle.

Note that Resident Evil 8 in game timer doesn't count cutscenes and retries. I saw a streamer first playthrough that completed the game in 13 hours on hardcore, and he's pretty fast with games in general. So yeah, it's safe to say it's not as long as RE4 and not as short as RE3

I think there are some options, yeah. So far the weapons I've found didn't have super high stat requirements and it's possible to add weapon mods that change the scaling.
For example right now I have 6 Strength, 8 Reflex (Dexterity basically), 3 Cognition (tech stuff) and 10 Foresight (magic stuff). The sword I'm using is strength/reflex based in terms of requirements, but I've added a weapon mod that changes its scaling to Foresight, so I only really need to meet the requirements and putting the rest into magic will continue to make the sword stronger too.
Melee is pretty much required though, you can't be 100% magic or guns because they use energy which is only built up again by melee attacks.

And worst case there's a cheat engine table that lets you change your stats around ¯\(ツ)

R-Type Final 2 is just what I expected, more R-Type goodness. Playing it bring me back to the days of myself playing R-Type Delta on PS1 for many hours in a row, dying in stupid ways, raging and cursing until I could beat the game.

I can't say how it compares to R-Type Final because I didn't own a PS2 so I never played it, though the gameplay feels similar to Delta, one thing that I think it doesn't compare to Delta are the musics and the sound overall. I had to lower the sound effects to properly listen to the music and in my opinion Final 2 OST isn't in the same level as Delta.

Overall it's a good game and may earn a spot on my top 10.

Finally saw the Bengal and I can confirm that yep, it's a big boy.

Complete with gribbling and a damn amazing sense of scale, so very rare in ships of that size among the gaming medium.

I also got to explore a bit of the Javelin's interior and damn, it's awesome. As in, Alien-inspired awesome and it should come as no surprise given Nathan Dearsley's involvment. You know, of Alien Isolation fame and all that.

The game actually runs surprisingly well in its awesome presence. The problems tends to be that it's a player-magnet and people initiate world war III on it, which of course is going to tank server performance. The average Bengal appearance tends to go like that.

I keep doing this too. I keep "forcing" myself to play the PS5, but I always just return to the PC and I'm not entirely sure why.

For me it's because my PC is my 'default' device. For consoles I have to do the effort of plugging it in, and concentrate all my attention there.

probably gonna wait for the live patch then, PTU is too much of an effort for me rn
That makes a lot of sense, plus the PTU has more bugs than average. I think the patch goes live on the 21st.

Edit : And, if I'm not mistaken, it's a free fly week. Anyone can play with just an account and bask in the glory of bugs and bengals.

RE8s performance on Steam is impressive.

I wonder why there is such a 5x ccu leap over RE7.

Maybe RE fans weren't too big on the FPS camera change back in 2017. So more and more people warmed up to it over the past couple years being lttp to RE7 I guess.

Or maybe the PSVR exclusivity turned people off at launch.

Regardless Capcom is on fire these last couple years and MHR next year on Steam will clean up too.

Looking at Metal Wolf Chaos XD from the current Devolver Sales, I wish more games from the back catalogue of From Software are ported to modern platforms. There are so many gems there.

I remember Queen mentioning news of Otogi and Lost Kingdoms are coming. Hopefully these two projects are still on-going.
