Ohh I didn't realize the new Savage Planet game came out this month. I enjoyed the first one.

We'll see on Doom. I liked 2016 but really disliked Eternal. I'll probably wait and see, and see how similar people say it is compared to Eternal.

Thanks for the new thread, lash!

Nothing for me this month. Still haven't yet played Doom Eternal. :cold-sweat: I may need to pick up something from the Golden Week sale.

I haven't paid attention to previews much, but from what I've seen Doom the Dark Ages looks closer to Doom 2016 than Eternal. I do find it funny they added a Sekiro-like parry system to the game. Sekiro has lowkey been one of the most influential games the past decade.

May already! Thx for the thread lashman

After 2 extensions to my WFH contract (July 2024 and December 2024) I "finally" got the termination notice on my contract as a video moderator.
Did 3 years, and it was lucrative, but alas, I don't want to relocate to the onsite location 400km away. So in 31 days I will be let go.
(and it would be crazy to relocate, the contract is always in risk of getting axed by our client, we just lost the contract for it on our second site and the hundred or so people will lose their job in august)

Datum the hots keep coming.

Curious about Nightreign but will probably wait. Knee deep in Trails still and then I am very interested in both Pirate Yakuza and Clair Obscur.

I didn't dislike Doom Eternal but it was a step down from Doom 2016 in multiple ways. Eternal was plagued with problems in game design and, IMO, in their philosophy for the whole game. Dark Ages seems to take it a step further in the wrong direction. To me, Doom has always been a futuristic, kinetic sci-fi shooter. Dark Ages having a medieval theme, giving the Slayer a shield and telling the player to 'stand and fight' is the antithesis of what I want from Doom. I don't want to be overly critical of an unreleased game but so far nothing they've shown has seemed enticing and that just makes me very sad. And the cherry on top is that Microsoft's regional pricing for the game is horrible in my country. It is the single most expensive standard edition game on Steam and there's no way I would pay the asking price. Fortunately I can play it through family sharing so I'll give it a go but I'm not at all enthusiastic about it.

Hey I can't find the name of the game that is recent, its a driving sim made by one person where you can be a taxi driver, truck driver, have a company for truck driving, etc.

Anybody know?

I really should try to play more games. I really should try to use my PS5 more often.

It looks like Resistance 1 and 3 are part of PS Now but will be taken down next month.

Thanks for the thread lashman

Here's a few more promising games releasing this month

Majesty 2 x Warcraft 3 hybrid

Elder Scrolls at home

Mark of the Ninja x Thief hybrid

Ghost Master at home

Time to continue playing all of the amazing games from March&April for me, probably the same for June, July... I might even commit heresy and finish one or two of them

i guess this also somewhat involves PC since i doubt they'll bump the game prices only on the console versions

The MS support page mentions PC games so get ready to pay $80 for the latest Call of Duty on Steam.

Me who have been warning about a rough future for consoles for a long time

toldyouso-colbert.gif
PC is less affected as the most popular games don't require a high end rig and you haven random cheap games like REPO and Schedule 1 that blow up, but it isn't like that market won't suffer either due to tariffs.

Everyone is getting screwed, but some are getting screwed harder than others.

Xbox is dead

Couldn't sell a console at the lower price as it is

Not looking forward to Sony and other big publishers copying the price increases and those prices finding their way to Steam

GaaS games will be feasting.

Console sales will further tank in Europe. (Xbox already dead, PS5 behind the PS4 3 million already)

Anyone know if there are some deals on the Leisure Suit Larry games? There was one where 1-7 were just $6 on fanatical but that one is over and the game is going to be delisted soon.

At least there's a lot of different PC parts, free online and multiple key stores that gives PC gaming options.
Well game prices are coming to PC games too. Also hardware of any kind is going to get increases, if every part gets a 10% increase it's going to add up. (the price increase that xbox got) also to be fair PC parts prices kind of set the trend of never lowering the prices and only becoming more expensive, thanks to the GPU demand during the crypto boom.
