I was part of the PCEra community that had a large part of the userbase driven off the site by poor Era moderation and the original sane Politics era that had a large portion of that community driven off the site by bad moderation earlier this year. I sometimes wonder why I even bother still posting there, I think it's a habit more than anything else at this point.

There's so many other communities that were driven off the site like the sales community and Nintendo community by similar poor moderation. I was actually in the Politics discord era server for a long time before that group was driven away and saw straight up lies being told by B-Dubs about that community because I was actually in the discord and could see the things he was accusing the community of wasn't true. There were also 2 very problematic moderators involved in that that would have been banned if they were regular users based on some of the comments they made but because they're mods everything was just fine and somehow they're still moderators.

If I was the company that purchased Era I would probably be pissed that the poor moderation was driving so many users away. It's not like there's a ton of people willing to hop in and replace those users. Message boards are a dying type of social media for the most part.
As I wrote on Era too, the concept of a forum with super strict moderation and discussion policing is broken. Removing so much agency from the users and giving it to a handful of people who are flawed and have biases of their own will always fail.

People hating on Dragon Age to the degree they are is the weirdest shit I've seen, I genuinely love the game so feels like I live in a different reality.
Game is super fun. I like how it plays. Sure, it's just a nice action game, but I have more than enough "food" when it comes to deep, complex RPGs. Modern BioWare couldn't make those work financially anyway. I like Veilguard for understanding its own strengths, focusing on story and presenting an interesting world, and keeping up the pace and an action throughout. I really hope it manages to hold that up until the ending. I know some reviewers, like the PC Gamer one, felt that the start of the game is weak in terms of character writing, but I am having fun with them already. Harding is a great character, and Bellara an absolute highlight. If it gets better from here on out, then this might be the most enjoyable Dragon Age since Origins.

I know someone here was baffled at the turret "minigames", but those are just dumb fun so far. You get an overpowered, magic cannon and just blast walls and enemies to bits. Gotta be a joyless old husk to find problems with that.

Yeah, it's just habit for me now. It's good for keeping up with news.

Probably a skip for me. I have Persona already and the only other game I'd care about here is Cassette Beasts and that on its own is probably just gonna be cheaper in a random seal eventually.

Here's a random question to mull over on this otherwise completely inconsequential day...

If you were given an offer where all the money you have ever spent on video games in your entire life would be returned to you as a lumpsum payment but the catch was that you can never play another video game for the rest of your life, would you take it?

That's a really easy no. I haven't spent nearly enough on games to make this even remotely worth it xD

Can I play a game I made myself? In that case I would, use that money to live and dedicate all my time to making games.

Not worth it.

Whatever money you get back you will burn through it on other forms of entertainment in no time.

And how many books can one read before getting burned out. You will soon want some interactive entertainment and be shit out of luck.

And Movies/TV are trash for the most part these days. So yea gaming is too valuable imo.

On second though, yeah, I don't think it would be enough money to be set for the rest of the year, let alone the rest of my life.

Deleted my last post because I should have worded it better.

I can't imagine my life without videogames. They helped me live through all the blunders in the past. So, no.

Looks like Trump will be president again. I can only hope that he doesn't make things worse.
This is nowhere near guaranteed yet. But also even if it does come to pass you can be 100% sure it will get much worse

Who knew running the person who got destroyed in the Dem primary in 2020 was a bad idea.
The entire thing was a clusterfuck. Biden should have put his ego aside after the 2022 midterms and say he wouldn't seek reelection so there could have been a proper primary. Even then I don't know if that would have been enough because of inflation (enjoy those tariffs and mass deportations jacking up prices even more BTW, lord knows I'm going to. I also probably need to get that new PC before January).

Anyway, in actual video game discussion:

Warcraft 2 is getting a remaster. I wonder if they'll put it on Steam as it seems Blizzard has kind of dropped the platform after Overwatch and Diablo 4 and focused more on Game Pass.

From an outsider's point of view, just by looking at these images posted on Discord, it seems utterly insane that some electorates are neck to neck.

One candidate has the qualifications and perhaps integrity.

Another is practically a convicted criminal that has no business running a country even once.

How is it even a choice, lol. :flare_lmao: :flare_lmao: :flare_lmao: :flare_lmao:
