So I thought we could have a discussion on both trying to understand and trying to figure what can even be done about the right become so extreme.

One thing that I have been so confused about for so long is just how everyone seems so concerned about the opinions and feelings of right wing people. One can see this happen everytime there is talk about the right being bad, it pops up the "but but the left said mean things" while completely ignoring the vile things that are said from the right. I guess its easier to shit on the victim than the bully.

Personally it happened when I called Marie le pen for a nazi and got the "but maybe not call them a nazi, the word looses all its meaning if she's not technically a nazi"

I do not even believe it is as simple as ideology ("right" or "left").

We are in the digital age where when people have a question, they have search engines that can provide answers. There was a time when folks believed that truth would prevail in the marketplace of ideas over lies, but if it is possible to create a virtual community where a lie can prevail over the truth because enough people believe in the lie, well, now you can shape reality where what was believed to be a fact is now fiction.

That's where we are now with the rise of extremism.
