Watched an episode of Vinland Saga. Looks really good, though it felt slow. Felt like nothing much really happened after the intro. I wonder if I should just switch to the manga tbh.

Regardless, now that I've injected some manly viking action, it's time to counterbalance this with some magical girl action.
I had a sudden urge to watch Yuki Yuna is a Hero Season 2 so I did. Thankfully the 1st half is a prequel, because I remember nothing from the first season beside liking it a lot, it being really pretty, having some awesome music (I mean it's Keiichi Okabe and Emi Evans) and being a despairfest.
Now I feel like rewatching season 1 before continuing 😅 Though realistically I should probably finish watching the prequel and instead of watching the recap episode watch season 1 if I still feel like it then.

Especially after I watched/listened to the opening again:

Soundtrack Sample~

Reading Vinland Saga will never be a mistake, go for it in my opinion. It really picks up after the first volume though. And Yuki Yuna is a hero is one I dropped, but was one of the few "magical girl" things I was able to enjoy after the NGE of the genre, Madoka. I need to try again but I'm knee-deep into Psycho-Pass and ... It feels like the second coming of SAC, and then some. It's amazing.

Washio Sumi Episode 2 had some good character development.
And lmao, episde 3 was hilarious.
...This means the despair can't be far away, right :face-with-cold-sweat:

Alright, done with Washio Sumi's Chapter (Yuki Yuna is a Hero Season 2 first half for those who haven't been following :p)
...
..
.

Fuck
The modified ending visuals gave me the rest. Those cruel bastards.

Now to either rewatch season 1 or the recap episode before moving onto the second half of the second season. I am dead inside :02dead:

Somehow I only noticed it now, but I've started watching Revisions which came out on Netflix at the beginning of the year :cold-sweat:
Watched the first episode and I am pretty sure I'm going to like it. It's full CG but honestly looks really impressive. Has Mechs/Exosuits as well :blob_hype:

Really digging the opening as well

Finished watching Revisions.
It was pretty entertaining, but unfortunately the last 2 episodes really didn't do it for me. A shame.
It's a pretty good showcase for (mostly) pretty good-looking CG and still good popcorn entertainment though.

Slowly making my way through Yuki Yuna S1 rewatch again.

I'm mainly back to watching Kamen Rider tough, halfway about Agito right now.

It was fantastic. End of the prologue :).

I wasn't fully convinced by that adaptation, I think it lacked something and impressive beats in the manga didn't live up to how amazing they were in the anime. Still, it was solid work and some episodes like the one where Askeladd crosses the moral event horizon, or that finale were really sublime.

"Ghost in the Shell is a testament to the fact that adaptations should never change literally anything from their source material. Despite its spectacular animation, the anime caught quite a bit of flak in the earlier episodes because of a decision to change the name of the main character. But oh, how wrong the anime community was and usually is. The anime threw everyone for a loop by revealing that her name was the one from the original manga after all, a brilliant twist which immediately silenced all critics."

Maybe i should read the manga, i have the first idk 10 or 15 volumes from a humble manga bundle.

Reading that manga will never be wrong. It's really, really a notch above the anime outside of a couple episodes and the sheer atmosphere oozing from it more than deserves a read from you :).

I basically watched barely anything this season anime-wise, but geez next season is packed. (images link to their anilist page)

Haikyuu!! Season 4

Magia Record

(Reminds me that I still haven't watched the Madoka Rebellion movies)

Plunderer

I really like the manga. It's from Minazuki Suu aka Mr.

In/Spectre

Not familiar with the source here (yet, I plan to read it), but I really like the mangaka's other works (Blast of Tempest, Record of a Fallen Vampire)

Darwin's Game

Really like the manga as well here, one of my favorite "person gets power and drawn into a survival game" stories.

Dorohedoro

Dorohedoro is the definition of fucked up, but tbh I'm not sure how much I expect from the adaption, MAPPA have a history of either rushing adaptions or production falling apart in the middle after a good start.

Infinite Dendrogram

VRMMO, and one I really like.

oh its the time of the year i should check the upcoming season :face-savouring-delicious-food:

looks like fine season ... from quick look

Pet

There are people who can get into people's minds and control their memories. This power is used to eradicate mysteries and cases or worse, to assassinate. The potential of said power is strong enough that it is able to destroy people's minds, however, it can backfire and eat up ones own heart. To counter it, chains are used to lock and protect each other's weak and dangerous hearts. From one's growing fear and disdain, they're consequently called as a "Pet."
could be interesting , love the idea

Drifting Dragons

Waifus on airship hunting dragons .... what could go wrong

Ishuzoku Reviewers

In our world, the human race constantly debates about several important issues, such as: which girl is the best girl? How good is something as fapping material? Which fetish is the sexiest?

Accompany these great warriors as they present us with different girls, different opinions, different boners, and show us that the fantasy world may not be all that different from ours.
this is gonna be quite an experience 😂

Ya, Pet and Drifting Dragons also look interesting.
For some weird reason I keep thinking that that Pet cover looks really familiar and it aired in a previous season already :02think:

Also that 3rd one... :02dead:

Just finished watching Bunny Girl Senpai. Only took me a year and some after I started it
(For the record, that doesn't mean it was bad, that just happens sometimes when I watch a series on a weekly basis - if I miss one week for whatever reason there's a chance I just don't continue at all for a long time, because it completely throws me off my rhythm or something I guess)

'twas a very good series. The last arc in particular about Kaede was chefkiss.
Mai and Sakuta are so good.

Guess I'll have to watch the movie now! Though I'm not sure I can take the drama with Shouko the preview and movie title imply :cold-sweat:
On the other hand I guess everything will be fine in the end since I guess the adult Shouko isn't "real" any way. A bunch of things allude to that

The mech episode was great yea, but the best episode was clearly the one before about amanda, because it was about amanda, the best girl

Not sure there's enough folks in here to make it worth the while but i would not be against it
Maybe they'll all come out of the wookworks for it :p

But even if we don't properly vote, just seeing everyone's favorites would be nice. I really haven't watched that much in 2019, I want to know what I missed :D

Just watched the first episode of Darwin's Game. That was hella fantastic, and it was even double length :sweaty-blob:
Great tension and fantastic soundtrack.

Opening:

Shitty F2P game player retention tactics though :02think:

And mood swings!

I watched the Bunny Girl senpai movie. That was different from what I expected, but better for it, ha.
Really satisfying conclusion to everything. The novel series is apparently still ongoing, but tbh that movie tied all open questions up and it just feels very complete now.

Also how we gonna go about that AOTY voting?
I guess I could make a thread and we post our lists, and depending on how much activity there is we can decide afterwards if and how we want to rank things, in true chaotic MC fashion :mishy:
Or we could also just do it in here ¯\(ツ)
The last question would be, top 5 or top 10?

Thougts?
