Finished QQ S2, loved it. Not that I have watched many of them but this is my pick for best modern harem anime

After that I gave Devil is a Part Timer a go, but dropped it after 3 eps. It's a novel concept but otherwise felt very generic.

Now trying Talentless Nana, only watched 1 ep but it has potential.

Excellent news! :evilblob:

In other news I started watching Shield Hero season 2 today, and I think I'll just drop it. Extremely weak start. I watched 3 episodes and it was just boring.

Another excellent Ghost Game episode. Also next episode preview looking mighty disturbing. It feels like they've been going more into body horror lately and I can't say I dislike it!

Anteater WTF. She is really Shanks' daughter?! There is a scene where Luffy chatted with her during childhood. And Hanks crew shows up, too.

Interesting, they actually met before Luffy got the scar lol

Was she standing on a dragon?

oh is it something they're selling at the theater? Her character could be canon similar to Shiki then
Nope, they are giving it away for free to every viewer. You can see the cover at the end of the trailer. Very likely that Uta is going to be canon. Oh, and the exclusive mange is titled "4 billions". Maybe it's Shanks' wanted price?

Finally got around to starting Overlord. I had seen some random episodes over the years and just put it off.

I finished the first two seasons in like three days. Needless to say, it is pretty darn enjoyable. First season was better in some ways and worse in others. Second season was just a bit slow to start and had some goofy story beats.

Now I am excited for the 4th season and the upcoming game.

Finished Overlord S3

So far I think I have felt like S2>S1>S3

My biggest disappointment with season 3 was the build up in season 2 and hinting that there could be another player character. Shalltear had a world item used on her and there was enough possibility left open that another player character could have supplied the item.

Consequently, I felt like S3 was building into something more than what it did and it just sort of ended the same way the other seasons ended with Ainz as the super, duper powerful and no one else can compare. I know the show is ultimately a power fantasy, but I think it could have been a great plot point to reveal that Ainz is not alone, even if they do not actually reveal the other character.

Still I did enjoy it enough to look forward to S4 and the game, but I really hope this is something of more consequence in S4.

I only remember the incredibly bad CGI in last few episodes of season 3 :ROFLMAO: . Season 1 is pretty damn good though. Really like how OP Shalltear was that Ainz needed to pull his best against her.

For reasons I rewatched Knights & Magic. Still a really good mecha anime. I would love to see a season 2.

Oh yeah, the CGI is baddddddd like, why even focus on this so up close for several minutes, levels of bad haha.

Season 1 was really good and built the show on a lot of promise that was further hinted at in season 2 that just sorta flatlined in season 3. I have not read the LNs, but I am hoping season 4 has some more spice, otherwise it is going to be bland.

I only liked season 2 more than 1 since it focused on the best character Sebas. Give him his own show please 🙏

Edit: Oh yeah and it further annoyed me when the final episode was titled Player vs. Player, why tease that into nothing :negative-blob:

GHOST GAME DAY BABY and.... well, finally another evolution!!!

Jellymon's VA is the same as Princess Zelda, and she finally used her Zelda voice on Thetismon. Literally a voice of goddess. So good. :blobevening:

I remember reading that many people said story of season 3 is the peak of Overlord, and the story will just go downward from now on. Hopefully it is not true.

Finished SAC_2045 season 2. Season 2 was a significant improvement in every aspect compared to season 1. Overall, I enjoyed the show way more than I did Arise.

The most common gripe with SAC_2045 appears to be the usage of CG. I deeply hate it and hope that shit is never used to animate GiTS ever again. The characters look like goofy children's cartoons which clashes with the performances given by the actors in a show that definitely isn't targeted at children. It works with Pixar because that shit is mainly designed for children to enjoy. Also, why call the show SAC and yet not have any Stand Alone episodes? It's stupid. The story likely would have been better and tighter had it not been stretched out over 24 episodes. It needed Stand Alone episodes not only to make the story flow better, but to also give many of the old cast members screen time to shine. Most of the crew including Motoko felt like they barely did anything this season.

To date the original Ghost in the Shell manga has never been animated. I'd like for that to be fixed some day. Also with a return to traditional animation and not CGI as the last couple have been.

Also there is a rumor going around that Trigun is going to be remade... by a CGI studio, Orange. The leaker is considered very reliable.
The original Trigun is Very good, I don't see why a remake was needed or what they'll change.

Interesting. I haven't seen the Trigun anime, but I liked the manga. Although it's been ages and I remember basically nothing.

Orange has an excellent track record so I'm curious how it will end up.
Land of the Lustrous is stunningly beautiful and as far as I'm concerned the poster boy for "how to make a full CGI anime" and while I haven't watched it myself, I think Beastars was also well received.

Crunchy is being sooooo slow with the rollout of Funimation titles. I'm kinda tired of waiting for Jormungand... So I dug up the blu-rays. Man, I forgot how much I love this anime.

I'll take your word for it. I've not seen LotL, only read the manga. I'm naturally wary of CGI in anime due to many many examples of it being... subpar, let's say.

I recommend going in with an open mind and giving it a try.
It's an experience. It doesn't look like a traditional 2D anime, but at the same time you could never do some of the stuff it pulls of with a traditional 2D animation style. (Or, it would be unreasonably difficult/expensive to pull off for a weekly TV series)

Downunder.
Trigun was a lot of fun. We had a groupwatch of it in TDF Discord server a couple of years back. A timeless, epic story.

It came out the same on the season as Cowboy Bebop, but as we all know, Bebop is definitely more popular.

Badlands Rumble was alright, but not as good as the original series.
