Awesome. Glad to see they're getting increases in reservations, the device really has a lot of potential and I think observers are starting to take notice!

I honestly can't wait for a Deck V2 now. Simply VRR and External GPU via Thunderbolt USBC support would be game changers for the device.

Someone on another forum was saying they've been playing "Severed Steel" on Deck and it seems Era has been too so i picked it up.
It's currently the Star Deal on Fanatical...

I also picked up Lego City Undercover as i've been looking at it for years since the Wii U and it's on sale on Humble.

I played through it entirely on the Deck. Great for the most part but there are two story levels where the game crashes if you have a controller connected (this happens on windows too). I've published a SteamInput profile where i replicate the control but emulating a keyboard instead. Once you load in to the level sucessfully you can restart the game with the proper controller profile again.

I can attest, I have used my Deck to play Cult of the Lamb. Works pretty well there save for a random slowdown that seems to impact even PC at times.

___

Not that I planned to play it right away or anything, but La Pucelle does not work on the Steam Deck. It has been awhile since I have come across a game that is unplayable even with GE and that was not related to anticheat.

Apparently someone got it working with protontricks and installing d3dcompiler_47, but I will tap out for now and come back later when I am ready to play, unless I decide to play it on my PC.

I had been holding off on playing Cult of the Lamb because the stutters drove me mad, but somebody found a fix (apparently works on PC too, but I tried on Deck and it worked for me there).

Navigate to the game folder, then go to Cult of The Lamb_Data\boot.config and add the following lines:

Code:
gfx-enable-gfx-jobs=1
gfx-enable-native-gfx-jobs=1
gc-max-time-slice=1
I think these prompt Unity to make use of multi-threading. Whatever they do, the game feels so much better now.

NISA actually updated La Pucelle for the Steam Deck, which is a big shocker.

Just tried the update and it seems to work, but only tried the title screen and intro which is what I could not get pass last time

Japanese Steam Deck account is tweeting about the games that will be available to try at TGS Komodo's booth. Some titles included: Persona 4 Golden, Ace Combat 7, Spider-Man, Elden Ring, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Hatsume Miku Project DIVA, Hades and many more.

Awesome to see. Wonder if something like this will happen next year at places like Gamescom or the E3.

Looking forward for the impressions of Steam Deck from Japanese devs and players!
Expecting Valve to cover lots of medical bills due to people's broken wrists and other severe injuries to hands and arms.
Maybe they could sell the SteamDeck in Japan together with a one-year Gym membership to help people there train their upper body strength.

Yeah, every Deck user can punch through wall. Gotta give it to Gabe, he makes nerds strong again.

I really like the design of the prototype in the middle ( minus the weird analog sticks and start/select/steam/qam buttons). I'm also glad that they didn't go with the glossy finish as it would be a fingerprint magnet.

Something that strikes me as something different about the deck, is just how proud the creators seem of it, you don’t seem that so often, vary rarely do you see prototypes held in such high regard.
I kinda want them to reinvestigate the concave circle shape for the trackpads, otherwise, their current design now seems pretty much perfect.
Maybe get a decent OLED screen for the next version, and of course an next gen APU to increase efficiency per watt even further (though that goes without saying really).

I actually prefer the flat trackpads on the Deck over the concave of the Steam Controller. I don't really think the concave adds anything - it could be more comfortable letting your thumb go in farther but if they can make room for concave they could just recess the pad a bit I imagine. Also it has to be designed / coded to work around the extra touching you're doing because of the curve.

What happened with Judgement?
I thought they were stuck because that talent agency was afraid PC gamers would mod a dick on the main character's face or something. 😮
Johnny Kitawaga died is the flippant and sarcastic reason.

The reality is, money talks and in the end Takuya Kimura's likeness on porn became a distinct possibility the second they turned him into polygons, regardless of platform.

Or the whole agency thing was a load of bunk and someone (Amazon?) paid Sega to keep it off Steam for a set period.
