It's sort of mixed. eShop is way faster to access then PSN, PSN is slow!!! It will take time just for things to load, it feels as slow as Steam does during a big sale (and that's on a regular basis).
The issue with eShop is that it's just way too bare bones (especially when stuff like the 3DS eShop has more features than the N/S eShop).
PSN is just way to "curated", hey do you love JRPGs? Well here is FIFA,COD, and the typical AAA western stuff (we keep all them weeb games in the back)
The eShop, unless the game is on sale, or a top seller you likely will not even know that the game exist on the eShop, and I doubt that many games get features by Nintendo in that one section that they have. Nintendo does have that community thing that you sign up, for each individual game (which I guess is not technically part of the eShop?) And while it's a nice thought I have not really used it that much to see how good it is. It seems to function sort of the same way as the what's new thing in Steam.
