Looks like all the maps will be available for previous owners. That's a good thing, but still I'm sad that's it's egslusive

I'm actually not that nice of a person IRL as well, (literally made a product sales person, like someone who is trying to sell a product in a store who works for the product manufacturer, talk to the hand yesterday bc I didn't want to play nice)
If I'm the worst this site has to offer, I wouldn't even rate on the 'other place' Straight up someone just tried to shame anti EGS people by referencing their autism and natural resistance to change as not being a barrier to accepting EGS timed exclusives and that if they could do it than other people could too.

Lol. I was younger than. The people who still believe EGS will lower prices for consumers must be like 25 or younger.
It was a lie then and it's a lie now. But who would admit that they believed that money would surely trickle down this time.
But the thing is, they've successfully planted that pitch in everyone's mind, including journalists. We've had countless articles saying how good the 12% cut is for customers, and yet they won't publish another one that it never actually happened.
It's hard to admit you were wrong (or willfully lying).

Yeah, that's what we do. We don't, and we don't even talk about them because that would increase their relevance. If the place is an abusive craphole, then removing yourself from it about the few healthy choices you do have.
As for EGS, it is a terrible platform and exclusivity tactics are a toxic mess to the openness of the PC. In my case, this isn't a big loss, I wasn't into those games and this ensured I'll never be. Too bad for them.
I have yet to play both hitman 1 and 2, so just gives me more time!
But yeah sucks hard for the fans of the games.

Due to all the patching, definitive edition, quickly going on sales, you might as well not buy AAA games on release unless you really want it and know you will play it day 1.
I still kinda regret getting Doom Eternal day 1 despite playing through it during the week it released as it went on sale really quickly.

yeah $40 seems about right to me. that's most console prices after about two weeks anyway. pc sees that before launch 
My feelings about modern gaming is just getting worse and worse lately.
Between Oculus just sinking further, to the 'next gen' game announcements, the (probable) video card pricing rumors, EGS, the state of storefronts (iOS, etc), the state of P2W (been playing a simple puzzle game for my daughter and it irks me), rerelease bullshit like Control... That's only scraping the surface.
The old days really were better. Makes me want to just ball up and exclusively play retro games (on emulation) for a while. Or at least stick to the known quantities I enjoy, because I don't see much to look forward to in gaming.

Not sure where it's getting the inflation data from, but the text is generated by a script, afaik. It's also using inflation on the US dollar, so to be perfectly accurate for your currency you might want to look up the value of the late 1990 USD, translate that into your currency, and then fast forward the inflation.

After loving H2 and defending it hard, of course I would've picked Hitman 3 the day pre-orders started. Really bummed about it going exclusive. Maybe I'll get it in 2022 in a Humble Choice.
Had too many issues with the previous beta, and honestly have a lot on my plate atm. Eh.

I'm a super cheap bastard so even 20€ is, generally, too expensive for me. Over 90% of my purchases are under 10€ and possibly 60-70% below 5€.

There's no rush to get a game day one or even year one, when there's a fuckton of patches and content being released post-release. Getting the goty or complete edition 2 years after the initial release is the most sensible thing we consumers can do. I'm still waiting for the Civ6 complete edition...
