Can't a dev check the email of all those who has its game activated on Steam? I remember getting mail of someon doing a trace on a key.
I hope not! I don't want devs to have my email-address.
The mail you're talking about, I think you get that when someone else is trying to activate a key you already did. I.e when someone gives away a key here, you redeem it and then another 1 tries to redeem it you should get that mail.

Aaah yeah that makes sense. I wanted to remember that a dev checked a range of keys for a certain game. But yeah steam giving the mail to all customers would have been brought up by the steam dissidents long time ago.

maybe its because valve dont releasse games so these places arent basically on the publishers work list

I mean, that par for the course for "gamers" so it's only fitting all the outlets are the same. Overcharging for DLC?! Late patch?! NUH UH! Composer of legendary RPG series is a war crime denyer and laughs at the deaths of young LGBTQ+? Fuck all.

The industry in general needs a rework on every single level, from the general fans of the hobby to the CEO's of the biggest companies making fuck you money while conducting layoffs. It's a wonder how any person that is even remotely a non-white male finds any pleasure in being associated with this shit.

So that's what was meant by steam fans being mad during spring, we will see a bunch of Indies after GDC doing egs deals?
Good luck getting fortnite players to be interested in buying your games.

This reminds me of thar recent vid/gif that showed the top played games on steam over the years. Dota 2 had what 9 million concurrent? How many od those buy and play games on steam when you consider total # of steam users.

Guys, don't suffer by anticipation. ;) Not even Epic can money hat every upcoming game.
Are any of you really lacking games to play, both new, or "old" ones that we all buy and forget to play?

I don't know about you, but if a developer doesn't want my money, I can easily spend it elsewhere, there's really no shortage of options.

I'm interested in Katana ZERO, and I'm planning to buy it, but if it becomes an EGS exclusive, I certainly won't be phased.
I mean, just yesterday I posted about another 2D action title, one that is currently on beta (purchases on the official website get you a Steam key immediately):

Speaking of Epic Store, that recent tweet from the Hades dev/pub just gets this remark from me:
"You're talk out of your ass"

It's crude but every remark or impression I get from reading that recent tweet or interview, rather, boils down to what I wrote above.

THIS is competition

THIS is also competition

THIS is another example of competition

THIS IS NOT COMPETITION

Now EGS is gonna start offering Epic Keys for games, that's cool, but it comes down to how online key sellers will want to make the cut for the key, so hopefully that works out well, but as is, right now?
No, Hades being ONLY on Epic Game Store, is not competition.

Everything will be fine because we'll get the first (non MMO) Digimon game on Steam this year~

Also World of Horror is supposedly coming this year too.

I really like what I played of it.
I wasn't part of the closed beta, so I'm not sure how the new beta compares.
I bought the game yesterday after I saw the developer mentioning pre-orders were open, and that they came with a Steam key for beta access.

What should I comment about and report that rape day game as?
Personally, I selected the option that the game features illegal content, and in the description I quoted part of the game's description, and mentioned that in several countries it's illegal to have a game with interactive, non-consensual sex.

Afterwards, I mentioned, as a side note, that even outside the question of legality or not, if this is really the kind of content they want to be associated with, and that they want to have on their store.

German DMC review says game has almost no real story and gets boring after first half because of that and samey, cramped enviroments. Also constantly jumping from one character to the next makes it feel like a 10hr tutorial. And my golden Steam profile is gone. This week keeps getting worse and worse.

The new hardware survey is out: Steam Hardware & Software Survey
Is there a site that offer all long term data from the survey? I was curious to compare the adoptions rates for Nvidia 2xxx vs 1xxx lines, but had to use the wayback machine to see older data.
Code:
Sep/2016
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 - - 0.42% 0.68% 0.88%
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 - - 0.47% 0.98% 1.42%
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 - - - 0.34% 0.90%

Feb/2019
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 - - 0.17% 0.33% 0.50%
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 - - 0.22% 0.31% 0.40%
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti - - - 0.15% 0.21%
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 - - 0.17% 0.33% 0.50%
So... 3.2% for 10xx line vs 1.61% for the 20xx. Even with the difference in models and release date, that's a huge difference. Let's see if the impact the 2060 has.

Speaking of Epic Store, that recent tweet from the Hades dev/pub just gets this remark from me:

These posts from the developers are very annoying. Ok... you took the deal, maybe in your place I would also, but please stop trying to justify with bullshit.

Must be part of deal. I think I'm of course joking, but you never know.

My golden Steam profile is gone. This week keeps getting worse and worse.
I wonder why Valve doesn't monetise these special profiles more.

I think "illegal" or "offensive content isn't a great reason to report that game. Not because it's not offensive content (it is), and not because the content isn't illegal in some areas (it is, but illegality in your area might just mean removal from that regional store), but because we have no idea what Valve's standards for these things are.

Since you know, they never tell us.

I don't understand why there's not a more simple "trolling" option or something for these games that are clearly subpar efforts designed to generate controversy.

You're right, but considering the available options, it's the best I could come up with.
They should consider having another option, for example with "none of the above", for situations that aren't covered by the current available options.

Yeah, I don't get why they wouldn't include something akin to "trolling" since they've actually talked about removing "troll" games in the past. It's a weird, badly designed reporting system.

Okay, so here's how to use Reshade with EDF Tizoc

Download the newest version from here: ReShade

When running the .exe, you get this:

Click on the big button and navigate to the EDF41.exe
Afterwards, select Direct 3D 10+
It will then ask you if you want to download standard shaders. Do that.
Afterwards you'll be asked to select the Shaders you want installed. First, click Uncheck All.
Then select SMAA.fx

If you want you can also choose one of the Sharpens (Adaptive or Luma) and whatever else you fancy.
(you only really need SMAA and maybe one of the Sharpens, I forgot which one works best You can toggle them in-game afterwards.)
I personally like Vibrance. It has absolutely nothing to do with AA, but depending on the game I like to just increase it a little, to make the colors more, well, vibrant ever so slightly :)
Obviously depends on your taste.

Congratulations, you have installed Reshade to EDF 4.1!

After starting the game you will now see a new overlay at the top for a few seconds telling you that Reshade was successfully loaded.
With "Home" or "Pos 1" you can now open the Reshade settings and it gives you a quick tutorial how to use it.
Basically just follow the on-screen instructions. Make a new profile by clicking on the + and then tick SMAA on the next screen. Read and click through the tutorial messages and then enable "Performance Mode" at the bottom right. That's it.
I'd leave the detailed settings on default, I have no idea what they do.
If you want you can then also select other effects and tweak them however you want.

The fact that a blog post is needed is a bit worrying. Why all the publicity?

After significant fact-finding and discussion, we think 'Rape Day' poses unknown costs and risks and therefore won't be on Steam.
This is a bit weird as well. It takes 1 minute to check the store page and understand this game is illegal. Why is there sugar-coating about this ban?

If this blog post was about Devotion, then I could understand. Too much risk to lose the whole Chinese market. But, come on, it is called "RAPE DAY".

After significant fact-finding and discussion, we think 'Devotion' poses unknown costs and risks and therefore won't be on Steam.
Edit: Actually, Devotion was not removed by Valve. I hope the game gets re-released.
