This whole epic apple case is some secret Fortnite arg. I wouldn't be suprised. Or Apple and Epic is actually secretly cooperating to reveal dirt on Sony and MS.

I'm as always completely puzzled by why Epic is going after Apple of all platforms. Seems Sony would have at least had a chance of being worth it.

Because Sony makes biggest money?
If Sony had removed Fortnite, they'd lose way more.

They can use this case to persuade special cut from Sony or just hoping someone else uses it to sue Sony (if they win).

they have less to lose from Apple and Playstation is the main revenue source for Fortnite, they'd be crazy to go for Sony

The worst that will come out of the Apple case is less money, at best they can open their system and eventually make a case for other closed systems

Man, with the non-existing transparency the last decades, all of the companies involved (Apple and Epic) and thrown into it (Valve, Sony, Google, Microsoft, and all the other companies that Epic has business relations with) all of them must be really pissed at the documents, revenue, emails, etc. that are now open to the public.

Nearly half of Fortnite's revenue comes from Playstation. Epic wouldn't dare bite the hand that feeds them.
Not until they set a precedent somewhere or lobby for enough law changes.

If they win against Apple or manage to lobby for some change in the law I expect all the big AAAs and Epic to go into overdrive with their own game stores on every platform. Even those who currently don't have a PC store.

I guess that makes sense. What a stupid lawsuit still. Getting kids involved in a social media campaign surrounding a corporate lawsuit... At least a Cyberpunk dystopia looked cool when I imagined it.

Was it an exclusive? It is on Uplay as well.

For me, there is an M (or Y) on top of a W, so something like Modern Warfare would work.

It is not EGS exclusive though. :face-with-open-mouth-and-cold-sweat:

Enhanced a bit.

Yeah but watch dogs is marked as an exclusive too

The funny part is Super Meat Boy goes for $50k, then The End is Nigh for $200k. I guess they could have asked for way more than that and get away with it.

At the same time, UAC for TEiN is quite high ($7.50), no?

I think Super Meat Boy was the very first EGS freebie. Also Rami is right about indie devs needing to ask for more money.

Edit: Nevermind I lack basic reading skills.

I agree. My point was that McMillen realized that he could have asked for more between the SMB freebie and the TEiN freebie.

Actually, all of the devs who sold their game, which then resulted in a UAC of less than $1 were the most scammed. For instance, RiME and World of Goo.

On a scale of Junior High Finals to Superbowl, how does this rate?
Eh it's pretty boring so far because most of Sweeney's testimony so far consists of Epic's lawyers asking really basic questions like "what's an operating system" and "what's a console". It should get a lot more fun once Apple's lawyers start grilling him but I will probably be sleeping when the cross examination starts as it is almost midnight in my timezone.:disappointed-face:

I think RiME is one of the most egregious. World of Goo is a 13-year-old game, you can make an argument that it probably wouldn't have sold that much at this point any more. RiME is relatively new, clearly has much higher production costs, and sold for even less.
