Mass Effect is launching in a few days... Don't have money for it but I am still excited by the fact that it is releasing after all these years.

Best games from the PS3/360 Era, hands down. And I don't mind the ending.

Castle Flipper is not even by the developer of House Flipper, which they also published. They don't just have flipper games either, go to the publisher page and they have 40 upcoming titles, with likely more in affiliate company pages and more known but without a Steam page up yet (like the SWAT game, it seems that the tweet got deleted, I guess they'll redo that). I already said they have the occasional game that appears to have some merit but the vast majority doesn't. It's not like I'm judging x company's truck simulator or y company's train simulator or z company's farming simulator, I know there are these niches and some stand out titles in each. This particular publisher just seems suspicious is all, so many studios/games from nowhere, all their first titles, all signing up with them...
they're basically making games on the "whatever people notice" basis ... as in - they put up dozens of store pages (like AT LEAST one per week, for a few years now) ... but they always (ALWAYS!) just have pre-rendered "gameplay" trailers .... and whatever people notice and wishlist a bunch - those are the games that will most likely get made (and yes, what i'm saying is - none of those "games" are real UNTIL after people notice them)

technically not illegal ... but scummy

but on the flip side - those that do get made, are actually pretty decent

That at least makes some sense, if only one in ten of the games they put up the years before was made (but how are they all diff studios)? So I can hope that if they choose to make the SWAT thing it will not be dodgy like its trailer? Would be nice. But even some of their best stuff like UBOAT seem to be heavily flawed.

Man, I really wish I could afford Mass Effect, really in the mood for it right now.
Loved those games back in the day. Haven't touched them since finishing ME3 back when it was originally released.

because they pretty much create studios for specific games ... it's not the usual thing where studios come to them with ideas for games .... the ideas come from playway themselves, and then they create (or hire) studios to make those into games

Same. Can't believe it has been eight years. Time flies.

And nothing since has really scratched that itch (I never played Andromeda, impressions were just so bad that I decided not to waste my time with it).
I modded the living daylights out of Andromeda and made it so it was an OK experience...barely. Still got bored maybe 3/4 of the way through and just forgot to continue playing one day.

Damn, how did they screw up so bad? They just had to build upon the existing trilogy. I'm not saying that's an easy thing to do, but man, compare that to task the team that created the first ME had. They had nothing and it was an incredibly ambitious project for the time. Such a shame. I'm so glad that the franchise isn't dead. Sure seemed like it for a while.

Valve should implement a calendar or something easy to check the release date for games.
I played the demo for this and really dug it.

It's like a minimalist logistics rts.

Super-clean presentation with a neat premise.

Kinda surprised there isn't a major spiritual successor on Steam like how Sim City and Rollercoaster Tycoon got them. Maybe someday.

There is.

Supposed to be pretty damn good too.

Alot of things happened behind the scenes, between overly ambitious ideas that didn't work out at all and the frostbite engine...

I've said it before and i'll say it again... the PC release of Andromeda with a couple of light mods really scratched that it for me and i would have no problem with them continuing the Andromeda story. I'd be there.

I've got a few days to finish Nier before ME:LE turns up but that's going to be a BIIIIG download i reckon. Not that i mind as it'll give the modders a chance to update their mods so they're ready by the time i need 'em. The new old adventures of new old FemShep are nearly here.

Cool ! I take it Helltaker is good ?

Other than that, yeah, personally I would really like to play RE8 but the money went the way of the dodo. Or more accurately the way of a wet palette and some painting supplies. Yeah, I know, priorities, but how the fuck do I choose between video games and miniatures ?

I still need to finish Spark 2 :sweaty-blob:
you better hurry up then ... with how often they're releasing those sequels we'll probably get Spark 4 before the end of this year

:toucan:

I played Zombies Ate my Neighbors so much when we bought our first used PC, it came with and SNES emulator and a lot of ROMs, now I'm feeling nostalgic and old :ROFLMAO:
that's because you ARE old :p

Same, Andromeda did have its issues (writing wasn't as good, too many filler quests) but it was very enjoyable ME game overall, and I would totally buy an improved sequel. It's not like we are drowning in AAA space opera RPGs....in fact have there even been any since ME and Andromeda?

Fought gaming inertia and launched Space Hulk (2013). No keyboard rebinding.
This starts perfectly.

Jawmuncher I'm sure you'll appreciate it
So this is what happens after Chris's steroid withdrawal.
in RE8, when a room is red on the map, it means there is something to find in it right? Some rooms I just can't find anything more in!
Which room? (can mark as spoiler) sometimes after your progress it can change the room depending on what stage you're at.

Speaking of Mass Effect Andromeda, I enjoyed it a decent bit.
Definitely the best gameplay in the franchise, your character is finally fast and don't run like an old person in cities, there's lots of vertical movement and the game really makes use of it with a non insignificant amount of jumping puzzle.
Combat is very decent for a game of its kind, and it has both by far the largest amount of skills available for every class, but also the most freeform system (you can take and use whatever! But you get less passive buffs if you spread too much, makes sense) and a good amount of customization for every single skill, both actives and passives (with some interesting combo applications).

Writing wise, it's not amazing, but at least they bothered making races much more eclectic and less Ameri-Humanity fuck yeah, I actually enjoyed the banter between Cora the human heavily into Asari traditions and Peebee the Asari that really don't give a shit about it.
Plus the factions and even the villains are not as black and white as the evil Reapers.

However, it does suffer from the same repetitively that the others suffer from, even with planets having more different archetypes and the level design reflecting it (less wide open plains in particular)... and mountains of boring tasks (though the "main" quests on the planets are okay if uninspired, focusing on them is probably a good idea).

Game's fairly good?
Still got a bit bored, and the itemization is still bland +1 upgrades (though weapons are really different even in the same category, an "old" semi auto shotgun doesn't feel like a slow explosive plasma one), but eh, game really got hit for little reason. :thinking-face:
Except bugs and instability. Now that sucks, and it's still here.

made by Thea devs :) so it should be at least serviceable :)
I just saw, I didn't play the Thea games but you don't get 90% positive reviews in this genre on Steam if you don't deliver something that's at least pretty good, so I'm hopeful!
