I 'll be sure to make 2.5x more posts here than I did on EraGe0force is now our latest exclusive. !
Yeah it sucks. Remedy's new game (control) being exclusive hurts me even more. I really loved Quantum Break...Man, reading that Outer Worlds is an Epic timed exclusive fucking sucks man.
Around y$+x€.How much did we pay for the exclusive?
Got to push it back until the particulars of the EGS deal are done.Xenonauts 2 Early Access was pushed back at least three months? Crap.

The fact that they specifically quoted Last Light's sales which has <20,000 owners instead of Redux, which has 2-5 million owners is why you can be almost certain the numbers are horseshit.Ya know, that "news" about Exodus selling 2.5 times as much as Last Light is good news. That number is so vague and obfuscated that it can only mean that Exodus didn't sell enough on Epic to flaunt it.
SteamSpy numbers for Last Light are corrupted. It has been over 1m, but no longer is.The fact that they specifically quoted Last Light's sales which has <20,000 owners instead of Redux, which has 2-5 million owners is why you can be almost certain the numbers are horseshit.
In the post on their forum announcing the delay a week ago they talked about sending out GOG/Steam keys for the closed beta to backers or something. After Phoenix point everything can happen but I like to imagine them being smarter.Shit. And you’re probably right
It's shitty behavior but any action by Valve would be presented as Valve being vindictive.I wish Valve would come down hard on stuff like this:
Steam :: The Sinking City :: Events
steamcommunity.com
You sign an exclusivity deal, your store page gets wiped and your community hub is deleted.
Do it anyways. They're presented as "bad" no matter what they do, they might as well stop their platform being used as free advertisement space if they're going to get vilified anyways. It's shitty behavior but any action by Valve would be presented as Valve being vindictive.
As funny as it is to joke about QD games (which are admittedly a guilty pleasure of mine), all the recent QD games do have average Meta scores above 70.
eh, i'd rather they not do that ... it could only end badly for them ... if not now then one dayDo it anyways. They're presented as "bad" no matter what they do, they might as well stop their platform being used as free advertisement space if they're going to get vilified anyways.
pretty much, yeahAssume all future games are exclusive to EGS until proven otherwise.
About that:also, you know what guys? we're all just assuming all those games will be on steam after a year, but ... hear me out ... what if they aren't?
just a thought
It's been known that devs wouldn't flinch to Epic's money so...Any developer or publisher who says "Our new game is now a timed Epic Store exclusive" equals this;
This is what I was trying to say on Era as well. I just should have chosen my words more carefullyEpic is going all out. This is the time to make our stand as customers and PC gamers.

We'll see tomorrow. (nothing - probably)So, how does Valve respond and/or counter this? Reduce their cut to 15-20%? Not sure how they can stem the tide here - it's hard to compete against this combination of shameless unscrupulousness + endless bags of cash.
Yes.Didn't Hollow Knight sell 1m+? lol
Yeah, I doubt they will do anything. We'll see tomorrow. (nothing - probably)
I don't know how other people would feel about it, but I would be fine with them just buying some development studios like Campo Santo to expand their development side again.I don't see what valve can do without compromising their not trying to control the PC space attitude what would hurt them.
well aside of hiring some ninjas or something
Clearly we need to liven up the thread by channeling our inner Ban Punchers and posting questionable anime gifs.Morning y'all.
I woke up drenched in sweat, thinking I just had a nightmare and now it's over. But no. Epic still reigns and the nightmare is far from over.
Having said that, I take comfort at the fact that there's still plenty of games to look forward to. Ace Attorney and Zanki Zero next month, I bought Super Robot Wars T yesterday as well, and then there are Pathway, World of Horror, No Truce with the Furies, N1RV Ann-A, Alliance Alive and many more.
Let's positive thinking!
In my case, I don't plan to buy Outer Worlds even in 2020 after the exclusivity deal lapsed. I won't say that I would never buy all games which took an exclusivity deal with EGS, but in this particular case, my decision is already made. I simply won't let my $60 to be a part of the metric which could determine whether people would still buy their game even after taking a moneyhat from Epic.also, you know what guys? we're all just assuming all those games will be on steam after a year, but ... hear me out ... what if they aren't?

Not only that. A significant part of pc gaming is now in control of a big company (two actually if you count Tencent as well). Several devs, publishers and even stores like Humble have thrown their principles and respect for us as consumers out of the window because of Epic's money. And Epic has only just begun...The only thing Epic's shit moves will accomplish is fragment the platform once more, take some key re-sellers off, and maybe a platform or two.
True. But that's not going to solve anything that's going on right now. Epic is bribing many major players in the pc gaming industry, and it seems to work out great for all parties involved.I don't know how other people would feel about it, but I would be fine with them just buying some development studios like Campo Santo to expand their development side again.
Same here. I'm not planning to spend a single cent on any game involved in a store exclusivity deal. I'll play Outer Worlds if I can borrow the ps4 version from a friend or colleague. If not, Inll be playing other games. In my case, I don't plan to buy Outer Worlds even in 2020 after the exclusivity deal lapsed. Besides investing in better algorithmic systems to determine user preferences, they could at least try some PR-friendly stuff.True. But that's not going to solve anything that's going on right now. i hope they won't do that .... i mean - on one hand it would be nice, for sure .... especially for smaller devsSo, how does Valve respond and/or counter this? Reduce their cut to 15-20%? they won't announce anything tomorrow ... it's a dev talk, not a pseudo-E3 press conference like epic did todayWe'll see tomorrow. (nothing - probably)
right now? not much really ....I don't see what valve can do without compromising their not trying to control the PC space attitude what would hurt them.

We'll probably die before we see the full game.
