Capcom Arcade Stadium now has the option to buy each game individually, as DLC:

Also, the full compilation, all the packs, and some of the individual games, are now on sale:

---

One of the main complaints I kept reading about this release, which caused it to have negative reviews on Steam, was the fact that the games were only available as packs. Considering the cost of each 10 game pack (less than one retro game frequently costs, especially, say, on Nintendo's Virtual Console services), I personally found the complaints a bit harsh, but now those who only wish to buy a couple of games can do so.

I only recently started properly playing this release, since I upgraded my OS recently, and this one didn't work with my previous OS, but from my experience the emulation is great (it's based on MAME emulation), the CRT filter is quite awesome (I never use it on these compilations, and I do so with this one), there's all sorts of tweaks and gameplay options for the games (you can even rewind the action, speed up or slow down game speed, with the press of a button), you have Japanese and English roms for most games, and a great looking arcade environment, that seeks to emulate the noise and feel of an arcade location. Plus, weekly events, online rankings, unlockables, save states, (...).

For fans of arcade games, this release is a great way to experience these games.

Particularly for shmup fans, you can now buy several classics for less than 2€, which is an awesome, affordable price.
For example:

VARTH, which I linked above, has 30 stages!

Looks like the biggest complaint on Steam reviews are about buying the collection as a complete package. Too bad that Capcom didn't sell individual games from the beginning. It will take forever if ever that the reviews goes from Mostly negative to positive or even mixed

It will be next to impossible to change back the reviews to positive.
Many of the negative reviews will remain, since people won't update them.

They made the mistake of offering a title for free with the software download, essentially making this a free to play title, and allowing everyone to review it.
If you read the reviews, and their game time, many of them are by people who didn't even bother trying the games. Some complain about the price, or the fact that the games are not sold individually, so you had to buy packs with games you didn't want (fair enough), but plenty of them just say something like "you can play them for free on MAME", and stuff like that.

Now, each game is selling for 1,99€, and I've already seen people saying it's too expensive. o_O

People always want to complain something, even it's for free and when you get money out from it...

Some choice quotes from reviews in my front page:

«First you say it's free (only ONE game comes free). Then if I want to buy I have to buy the whole bundle (why?) It's this some kind of a Scam?» :dizzy-face:

«this isn't free to play you have to buy every game in this emulator and price is very high» :face-with-open-mouth:

«Free?
Only one game is playable.» :loudly-crying-face:

«not the best game to get» (what does this one even mean?!) :thinking-face:

And, of course, there's the usual "it's stupid to pay for older games" brigade:

«This is a shameless bait and switch by Capcom capitalizing on your nostalgia by unethically charging AAA prices for outdated/unpatched roms that are easily emulatable by many other means. » (AAA prices = around 1€ for game, in that full bundle, or around 1,5€ for each 10 game pack; and now, you have the option of buying individual games for 1,99€) :surrenderblob:

«I dislike being nickled and dimed for 20 or 30 year old games. » :anguished-face::anguished-face::anguished-face:

Here's a couple of games currently on kickstarter, that may be of interest to some people.

First of all, a campaign for a very cool looking point and click adventure game, one that has a demo on its Steam page (check the Steam page below):

---

And secondly, one for those who enjoy playing Russian roulette ( ): a crowdfunding campaign that offers an upcoming Steam digital release of a beat'em up game (love the genre!), one that is apparently quite awesome, but whose developer is a bit bonkers, and has yet to supply some of the people who ordered the game years ago with a copy.
Just watch the campaign video (16 minutes ?! :dizzy-face:), and get an idea of both how cool the game looks, and how much "drama" is there surrounding this developer. Surely, it's the first crowdfunding campaign video that spends a big portion of its time showing the developer defending itself from scam accusations, right? :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I did have a longer bit I wrote about Capcom arriving far too late to a party that was already in full swing and trying to charge people to get in, but meh. Piracy is bad, ignoring a market for years is within their rights and capitalism is great.

For example:

At only $2 for Progear, you're basically robbing Capcom. Game's amazing. Anyone with even a passing interest in shmups should jump in at that price.

Honestly, I don't blame them for trying to sell it all as a single pack. The collection is neat, but how many of these games are going to really draw anybody in in this day and age? Most of the belt scrollers were already released in the Capcom Beat 'em Up bundle. Without online, all the various SF2 revisions are kind of pointless compared to just using Fightcade. And that mostly leaves shmups, a genre that has struggled to gain traction on Steam (sadly).

It is most likely a bug. Two games left to claim, but nothing to select
This particular instance in your screenshot is a bug, but it's also a 2019 bundle (and I think the last 'non-choice' bundle). Keys are available for 2020 bundles.

Unless Humble have said anything about unlocking remaining games for previous bundles I will assume that this is a bug. Plus this particular month is a 10 games bundle.

Not cheap, but if you have good internet (and don't mind the other constraints of streaming) it's clearly still financially preferable to the alternatives.
The price is not mentioned in the blog post.

After a few clicks, I see the subscription costs 100€ per semester, so ~ 17€/month.

At first, classic subscribers could pick every game, as they had 10 choices out of 10 possible games.
Then there was a time window during which classic subscribers could not redeem every game: you had to choose 10 games out of 12.
After a few months and since then, Humble has let people pick 12 games out of 12.

The bug seems to be that subscribers get to pick 12 games retroactively. You can only take advantage of that offer for the time window mentioned above.

This week has been rather crazy, in terms of new launches, hasn't it?
Yesterday was crazy, today is equally insane, and tomorrow promises yet another big number of new launches.

Here's a sample of the games launching tomorrow:

And a free DLC:

How can one keep up with such numbers?! o_O

Damn, this game's pretty good. Not absolutely incredible, but pretty good.
Blasphemy!
𝅘𝅥𝅮 Haaaaalo sucks, it really really sucks~ 𝅘𝅥𝅮

...But seriously, it just feels so much more hollow than most-any other shooter I've played. All of it's mechanics and design decisions combine to make everything feel so static. There's so little escalation or variety in gameplay to match the presentation, which to me seems to be a product of none of the weapons, enemies or vehicles having any dynamism. Any given thing only has one or two functions and no combination of other things makes it feel significantly different. Every warthog segment feels very similar, any two given encounters with groups of elites and grunts feel very similar, and so on.

This is for meeeeeeeeeee. I still have GFN Founder status, my main PC is still a Alienware Alpha R1, I don't use Shadow for streaming anymore since the price went up from like $12 to $30(!), I have a Shield TV Pro (2019), and my new LG C1 48" arrived two days ago. I wonder when this new plan will go into effect..

Dinjoralo Yeah, Everhood is pretty good. Not for me as i'm garbage at rhythm games and the combat would annoy the hell out of me but i watched Calli play it and enjoyed the story and presentation. It's pretty meta and very odd but people will know if it's their kind of thing within a minute or two of watching a video.

Is it time to rip and tear some more.

I enjoyed the mod version but the small arenas get so filled with enemies that you get stuck on so much that it kinda ruined it for me.

Hopefully the offical version works around this somehow, while keeping it challenging.
