Anxiety about messing up even though the community was super nice on previous runs and also that not even Healer Queue was helping as it was 15+ minutes queues to redo instances. I ended up doing what i enjoyed most which was wandering around doing FATES, helping people who needed some heals and doing solo quests to get mounts and other stuff like fishing and leveling my Conjuror and Summoner classes.

I am in an FC but it's only me and another person who have never spoken to each other lol. I'd like to find a bigger morse sociable FC who are prepared to help newbies out and get motivated.
That seems unusually long for a healer queue. You most certainly wouldn't have that problem right now hahaha. Even as DPS it usually only takes 5mins or so. And people are pretty understanding in general. I usually just say it's my first time through and ask if there's any mechanics I need to know about and people are happy to explain.

Unfortunately, at the moment, Healer queues are hitting the 5 minute + mark, mainly due to people trying to level the Sage class (this was last weekend, not sure how that has changed over the week). However Tank Queues are almost instantaneous.

Hopefully over the next week things will calm down.

Out of curiosity, timeline of Atlus PC releases and when the apps were created on Steam's database:
  • June 2018 - Catherine Classic app created
  • January 2019 - Catherine Classic released
  • June 2019 - Persona 4 Golden app created
  • June 2020 - Persona 4 Golden released
  • July 2020 - Persona 5 Strikers app created
  • September 2020 - Shin Megami Tensei 3 app created
  • February 2021 - Persona 5 Strikers released
  • April 2021 - Persona 4 Arena Ultimax app created
  • May 2021 - Shin Megami Tensei 3 released

Then there's SMT5 and Catherine Full Body which were in the NVidia leak... I think?

Is there any info about how long FF7R is going to be a egsclusive? 1 year?
Typical time frame for Eggsclusives is 1 year. Who knows in this instance, but if Kingdom Hearts happens to show up on Steam March 30th, or w/e you can bet this will in Dec of 2022.

wowie you guys got busy while i was dead to the world. (overslept again, whoopsie >_<)

as long as its not P4AU I'll be happy.
I can't into fighting games. Even Persona Dancing I'd be fine with.

If it is AU though happy for those that do like that sorta thing.
Imagine, no 13 sentinels and instead of Persona 5 Royal you get Persona 4 Arena Ultimate.

WOAH, ATLUS, SO GENEROUS!
Quoting these because I lol'd. When i woke I had seen the news of P4U, and immediately I wanted to have a stroke lmao.
ahhhhh, it is my own fault for getting hyped for an Atlus steam page....

d-don't you do this to me!!

I decided to finally get over myself and give Dust: An Elysian Tail an honest shot, art style and voice acting be damned. Still not feeling it, but I’m glad I at least tried. I can see why people like it. The combat feels good and snappy, but it’s overly chaotic for my tastes and both the parry and dodge implementation feel off.

What ended up souring me on ot was the level design though, surprisingly. It’s described as a game with a focus om platforming and exploration, but it lacks the kind of spatial variety and verticality I’d like in a game like this. The effect is that it plays a bit like a more elaborate side scrolling brawler, and I’m not sure I’m up for that when the other aspects of the game aren’t engaging me either.

I'm pretty proud of the ultrawide camera work (and thankful to the QA testers that helped made it happen), I don't think I've seen anything like it done for an older game with fixed camera perspective before.

It's a shame about the 60 FPS limit, but a coworker has put a ton of time into a arbitrary-FPS-support branch and it was still quite a ways off being ready when we had to decide on what to do for the release. The game was built entirely around a fixed framerate.

Yeah, I'm going to retry about 2am
Login times on the EU servers tend to be fairly decent before 10am at weekends. That's how I managed to do some stuff on the early access. As long as that still holds I will probably no life it tomorrow.

Also with S-E current pricing policy I won't be buying any of there games new for a while. I have hit a point of not paying more than £40 for fairly new(ish) games and then a sliding scale downwards depending on the age of the game.

There are one or 2 exemptions. I bought Endwalker at full price, I will be grabbing Total Warhammer III around the time of the Mortal Campaign (or whatever it is called). But they where/are fairly known quantities. Plus I am still a bit pissed at S-E over the whole Intergrade update for the PS4 (ie no Yuffie for all of us who bought it on the PS4).

I would normally post this over in the YouTube gaming thread. As someone whose hearing is starting to get a bit more iffy, the subject of accessability becomes more and more important to me. I also believe that this should hit as wide a target as possible.

For quite sometime Game Makers Toolkit (a great youtube channel in its own right) has just posted its annual review of accessability options in games.

Insomniac seem to be one of the stand out companies along with EA, MS Ubisoft and to a lesser degree Sony (they leave to much up to the individual developer vs MS actively promoting the best ways to use these options).

The really upsetting thing is Japan. They appear to be so far behind the rest of the world in accessibility options.

Good Lord, the rabbit hole of Magic The Gathering is real. I can't play that shit as I'm poor, for one. And I have a tendency to semi-rage and think my opponent is being meaner than necessary, which is absolutely stupid, I know. And more grounded in facts, I fucking can't stand the wait between turns. I already crossed path with incredibly slow players.
But when it works ? It fucking works. The diversity of approaches and combo is simply astounding.

I just played a deck with a card that could double its fucking stats every turns. Ended up at 42/42, ridiculous. And the game is so deep that I lost ! My opponent had a card that basically said he couldn't lose as long as it was on the battlefield.
That's fucking incredible.

But yeah, the rabbit hole. If we leave aside the fact that I can totally lose interest at a moment's notice, the dollarydoos must flow. There is a 5$ welcome offer, hmm why not. Then you see that the premium battlepass is full of things and cost 20$. Then you imagine that's just the beginning :neutral-face:

New Terminator DLC, rather unexpected.

And yes, The Touryst is lovely, good to see it on Steam.
I have been playing the new DLC for 2 / 3 hours now. If you liked the main game buy the DLC. They put the same amount of love in this as the main game. As a T1 and or T2 fan this is a must have. The music (few new tracks including an awesome rendition of the T1 theme) and atmosphere are super.

Ah yes hit with the olde "platinum angel" effect. If you were playing standard it's was Book of Exalted Deeds onto a land or whatever.

I definitely recommend staying away from historic format until you've been playing a long while and have a lot of cards. Stick to the current standard and things should sort themselves out eventually. It really does require you to play a decent amount to stay free to play. You build your collection slowly.

Luckily since Forspoken is on Steam, it won’t be hard to find a good deal on that game. FF7R on the other hand… thanks Tim for killing competition and keeping your prices high.
I mean, just because it is on Steam doesn't mean deals will magically occur. It's up to Square requesting & distributing keys and/or boxed copies to more stores.

So, it's more possible than on EGS which has no such functionality as far as we know, but will Square actually go ahead and do something like that any time soon?
When has that not happened with a Square game on Steam? All of their games are available on key distributors, even the FF Pixel Remasters.

Did they have egsxclusives before they finally did have them? 80 euro games before they finally did have them? If you think they're out to rip people off it's weird to expect they will for sure also give those same people an easy way out just because Steam technically allows them to, as it allows them to not ask 80 euros to begin with. If they will or won't doesn't matter to me, I'm just clarifying it's up to the same publisher that is asking you for 80 now and not Steam itself. Besides, increasing the base price is likely to increase the price during deals, games that are sold for 60 go for 30 when 50% off, games sold for 30 go for 15 when 50% off etc., even if eventually in some years when noone cares and they wanna get rid of stock they may all end up in the same bargain bin price.

League is probably on a high right now with the series Arcane being so successful, but I know nothing about it.

It's being a while, but Dota 2 was incredible fun for me, and from what I watched in the last International, it still is.

BUT... Are you sure you want to o this? Between enraging and fun matches, so much heroes choices, battle passes and very good events to watch.... these games can really take over your gaming life.

Basically, If you like playing other games from time to time, don't get in too deep with mobas :p

It's already happening, you can already get a way better price for Forspoken on places like GMG or Humble Bundle while the other one you get the price that you get.

Cool beans. Thank you Square for being kind and allowing this, I take back everything about how evil your schemes and higher prices are.

Nah, SE can go to hell but at least they distributed keys already for authorized third party shops so that's good for us, FF7R tho, no.
I guess KH and Neo will get keys once they come to Steam too, even if prices are horrible again.

Your points are valid, and I hope they don’t try to screw people over when it comes to 3rd party stores. They are still fucking up, but I was just happy that at least I can hunt for my own deal on Forspoken vs the EGSclusives.

Slightly related, do we have any info on if Alan Wake Remastered is perma exclusive? I wasn’t sure if it was actually Epic publishing or not.

There was a steam string with Epic publishing in the nvidia leak, but aside from that, no, nothing we know.

Would be very surprised, because Remedy owns the IP of that game, and I doubt Epic would be paying for permanent exclusivity of such an old title.
I could see the sequel being a "permanent" exclusive, at least in the sense that it won't hit Steam for much longer than just one year. I put permanent in quotes, since no contract would ever be truly indefinite like that. Maybe 5 or 6 years at most, which in video games terms might as well be permanent.
