What was this show adapted from a cult manga, I have a blank my mind only comes up with the obviously wrong Geroro the Horrible.
And was the adaptation any good ? I always wanted to read the original material but the fan translation was horrible and it’s super hard to find in France.

edit. Gegege no Kitaro.

Slowly getting caught up with Kaguya S3.

It's a nice feeling to see your favourite moments in the manga gets animated without betraying expectations. :flare_bath:

My picks for this season. There's plenty to watch, and I need new HDDs.

Uta anime will probably be a trainwreck like Itsuwari no Kamen was, but I'm too deeply invested in Uta already, so I might as well watch it.

And ExistentialThought may appreciate this since you like rabucome:

I will definitely have to check this out!

Also Kaguya S3 was just amazing. :blobmorning2: This past season of shows has had some really strong shows. It has been nice to watch some anime again since I had been watching almost nothing but vtubers over the past several years.

I'm interested in watching The Night is Short, Walk On Girl and reading Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer, right now.
But I'm nothing if consistent these days, so it might change in half a day. And yeah, finding those legally in French is meh.

The three songs for the upcoming One Piece film are getting crazy traction on YouTube. They are pretty good, too. I wonder how they will play these songs in the film.

Have really enjoyed Call of the Night, completely flew under my radar beforehand despite being from the same author as Dagashi Kashi

Feel like I need to rewatch a bit of Made in Abyss to get back into it for the new season.

I have still been going back and watching shows I missed and one that completely caught me by surprise was Birdie Wing, For starters, I dislike golf and I am not a big fan of sports, but something about this show is so goofy that it swings back into fun to watch territory. Excited that it is, somehow, getting a second season this fall.

I also started watching Birdie Wing a couple days ago, since I've been hearing good things about it and it sure hasn't disappointed so far.
It's delightful over-the-top nonsense played completely straight and I'm here for it.

Just finished Birdie Wing episode 8.

Brilliant. I certainly have no idea how we can go up from here, but I'm eager to find out.
Like Eve, this show has not missed a shot.
This is why I watch anime.

Holy moly, I know right?

Like I love when an anime comes along like this and turns such a simple premise into something equal parts absurd and entertaining. It just amazes me when a show can take a subject matter like this and somehow make me so invested (e.g. like another sports anime, Ping Pong).

Finished I'm Quitting Heroing. Another show that flew under my radar, and wow, really good show. I think I would have liked to see a few small story bits that were not shown, but otherwise, I enjoyed this show. Relatively early thematic spoilers it felt like it was going to be one thing and then became something else very early on and I appreciated the show did not save this theme switch for too late as it made it more enjoyable rather than dragging it out

After reading\watching Naruto\Boruto for like 20 years im dropping this garbage..
Not only has the manga been so slow due to monthly releases.. but they skipped July release..
and the anime been so painful to watch. the fillers are beyond abysmal.

It's been awhile since we have a rakugo-centric series. Not since Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu at least.

Been watching a bunch of animu lately.

Birdie Wing

Peak anime. Episodes 9-12 didn't reach the heights the previous arc did, but to be fair the current arc is not over yet since the next season will just continue right away. Highly recommended.

I’m Quitting Heroing

Alright-ish start. Goes into an unexpected direction close to halfway through and gets a lot better for it. Overall pretty decent watch.

Estab-Life: Great Escape

I'm usually a fan of original Goro Taniguchi works, but this one failed to grab me in any way after the first episode. Dropped.

And now onto currently airing stuff:

Fuuto PI

Anime adaption of a sequel manga to Kamen Rider W. My first Kamen Rider show and still one of my faves, so I'm hella excited for just seeing more of these characters. The first episode was weirdly horny though at points.

Overlord IV

More overlord. I think I've already been enjoying this more than the last season so far.

Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer

I watched the first episode, then went on to re-read the manga and haven't watched anything since. The writing is strong, but the "animation" is non-existant so you might as well just read the manga instead. :disappointed-face:

Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun

Made in Abyss is back and it's more disgusting than ever. Very clearly intentionally so, but it also feels like some fetishes of the author are leaking through stronger than before and the disgusting/messed up scale is tipping more towards straight disgusting.

Parallel World Pharmacy

A good Isekai! It's one of the "isekai-ed into another world with an OP skillset for practicing a specific job" isekais, with the job being pharmacist this time. Nothing groundbreaking in terms of premise but the writing is pretty strong, especially the character writing. Has been exceptionally entertaining so far.

Lycoris Recoil

Definitely a highlight of the season. Checking it out is highly recommended.

That is my thought as well. There is something missing in the anime adaptation that I can't quite narrow down. The action scenes somehow feel more dynamic in the manga.

Definitely a highlight of the season. Checking it out is highly recommended.
I love LycoReco. Chisato and Takina have such a great dynamic. :flare_bath:

Anteater I just walked out from the cinema after watching One Piece Film Red.

DON'T read spoilers. Avoid them as much as possible. Also I can see this movie will be controversial, but I love it.

Too late lol, already read the spoilers, but yeah people don't seem to like it, especially the musical parts (but what were they expecting lol), but it sounds like a blast especially with the stuff about Shanks/Uta.

Also I think Ado got harassed on social media too because of that, people suck.

I think the opinion is pretty polarized because of bad pacing in the first half and the story doesn't feel like a One Piece movie in some places. But all the fight scenes are beautifully executed. Also the ending is perfect.

Sucks to hear that some fans got mad towards Ado. Some lyrics are pretty weird but the songs are cool to listen to so I am totally fine with them.

Personally I really enjoyed my time. Wouldn't call it masterpiece but it is pretty darn good and I am sure it will become a classic to some fans while a trash movie to some others.
