Not gonna lie Doom Dark Ages looking more like Doom 2016 than Doom Eternal has me feeling pretty good. I appreciated Eternal, but really enjoyed 2016. Gimme that 2016 style game and we might have the best shooter of the year in May.

Mildly curious about the FRPG, it not being full price is also surprising, at least to me.
Not really a biggest fan of turn based rpg system with an active component though, so I guess we'll see how that goes.

edit: South of Midnight is also not full price, huh.

I am likely the only person on the planet that believes this, but I do think that for an Assassin's Creed game Ubisoft should have chosen some time period between 1853-1926.

It reminds me more of a (less brainless) Serious Sam than it does either 2016 or Eternal

Clair Obscur does continue to look really good.

Also, in other news, Ender Magnolia is really good.
It has been a long time since two games I'm interested in release on the same day, but I think I made the right choice. (Also, it should be much shorter, it's extremely well-paced so far)

I wonder if I should give Ninja Gaiden 2 another go. Now admittedly it was a lifetime ago before I played difficult games regularly, but contrary to Ninja Gaiden 1 whose most difficult moment was the first boss, the second one just ravaged my ass in a matter of levels. Destroyed. Rekt.

Played an hour of Tokyo Xtreme Racer on Deck and decided to see how it runs on the Ally. No Steam Cloud support. SMH. Valve really needs to start forcing this.
Imagine my pain when I started FF7 vanilla modless, only to find I can't even play it anywhere other than the Deck (without fiddling with the save).

€80 for the new Doom is absurd, especially since they removed the multiplayer.

I guess this is Microsoft trying to bully PC gamers into game pass?
Putting it under Microsoft shenanigans is optimistic, I really fear it's the new normal. Obviously, the market will decide.

All the best for 2025!
After looking at previews for AC Shadows it looks like that Ubisoft didn't gave people option to free roam and check game freely. Preview event was focused for the most part on main missions. And multiple people said that quality of writing was not that good. And as i said before many are questioning why the hell Yasuke is in the game when it is limited and boring character to play with. Add to that dumb enemy and NPC AI that is noticeable by watching gameplay it really looks like that final product won't be that different from previous releases. And add to that removal of modern day part that i care about and i guess that i should to prepare to be disappointed.
You should've prepared for disappointment at conception because it's a fucking Ubisoft game in the year of our Lord 2025

December video game content spending fell 5% when compared to a year ago, to $5.8B. A 21% drop in content spending on console combined with a 1% decline in mobile offset 13% growth in the PC, Cloud & Non-Console VR segment and an 11% increase in non-mobile subscriptions.
While the console decline is due mostly to the Switch being on the way out and Xbox throwing in the towel, the PC growth is nonetheless impressive.

Playing Scorn for the Backlog Blitz and the game is... kinda ass. I remember seeing it years ago on Kickstarter and the game is not at all what I was expecting :face-with-open-mouth-and-cold-sweat:

I got Scorn on the cheap either through a bundle or B/S/T thread. Can't remember but it couldn't have been more than a couple/few bucks.

Was always fascinated by the artwork, so I simply treated it like a Giger walking sim.

In that context I'd say it was successful. There really is some inspired visual work on display.

Gameplay was super simplistic though. Still happy to dip my toes in either way, if even for a little bit.

How the Skylanders developers used to sleep, believing their game would be the last to be mentioned in a school shooters manifesto

At the very least it should be an opt-out rather than opt-in especially given just how easy it is to set-up. There have been a couple indies recently I could not jump between PC and Deck with the devs saying that since they can played in one sitting there is no need. But they were still 2-3 hour experiences and have achievements I could still go for that I would like to be able to choose where or how to play easily without having to manually move my saves around.

The moment I read about its plot is when it really hyped me. It's basically Logan's Run, the game.
Does that mean that at some point in the game you will see images of Abraham Lincoln?

At this point, I've left 3-4 small indies installed on Deck so I don't lose my save. Yes I'm too lazy to find the save folder and backup.
Do you have Proton Tricks installed? Since that does make the whole process at least a lot more easier.

I just realized after rereading my comment that it sounds like a wanted a game that takes place during that time in general. But what I meant to say, is that if they were going to make a game take place in Japan, they should have chosen some time between those years.

I was a little confused about the Great War and then I remembered, that was the name of WW1, right?

Yes anime.

I'm not sure if lashman already shared it.

Yea, the artwork is great but if iirc the kickstarter and initial promos promised a more "action" based game and in the end what we got is mostly a short puzzle game.

The KDE Plasma phone sync setup being way more useful and more stable than what Windows has is crazy. I can share links from my phone to my desktop and it just opens instantly. I can set up a folder on my phone to transfer files to and from over my apartment's wifi.

Microsoft gonna Microsoft. I was gonna complain more, but I realized they aren't actually the publisher for NG2Black.

Will be playing Magnolia on the Deck when I'm not on my PC playing Rebirth.
Only played Ender Lillies recently and loved it. Didn't even know it had a sequel until it popped up in my library because my brother bought it.

Every now and then I check out the other forums by communities that left Resetera, like Xbox Era, Install Base and Famiboards. I would say that they are all quite decent, with the exception of one: Icon Era. That place seems to house not only some of the very worst platform zealots from Era but also awful people in general.
