I have bought like 500 indiegames day1 throughout the last years, but seeing the constant toxicity and entitlement by developers recently just makes me wanna use the ytorrent launcher going forward.

I think you guys shouldn't extrapolate and generalize those behaviours to the whole indie devs and kickstarter dev community. Sure, many of them sold out and have behaved like complete bellends but you also do know how many of them are still doing right by consumers.
I just fucking hate that Epic is having this much of a chilling effect on the indie/ks ecosystem. I can't wait for them to just go fuck off back to just being good engineers without delusions of grandeur in the PC space.

Between Ron Jeremy's House of [In]Sane Twats and this travesty I might as well stop supporting indies. Why should I give my hard earned money to someone who hates me and lacks any empathy to people who supported them since day one? These fucks were able to move to the city they wanted to live in thanks to their patrons money and now they don't have a common decency to reply to these people with respect they deserve? EGS doesn't support multiple vendors, so the EGS titles available to buy on places like CDKeys are the physical copies that didn't sell at physical retailers, reshipped to a reseller, gutted of all the physical materials that came with those boxed copies, then resold digitally as just the enclosed key.
Now, I'm not a professor of ecology or anything, but it seems to me that printing and manufacturing a game box copy, shipping it to a retailer, reshipping it back to a warehouse, reshipping it again to cdkeys, taking all of that packaging that is unwanted and irrelevant for a digital sale, and then throwing it away to get at the thing someone wants to buy - the cdkey - isn't exactly beneficial to the environment.
Certainly not when the steamworks alternative would be to just sell cdkeys a huge fucking block of keys in the first place for customers who like cdkeys, no shipping, manufacturing or logistical costs (finanical or ecological) involved.
Honestly all of these pro EGS arguments make about as much sense as when Devs were demanding a cut from used sales cos-fuck-it-I-don't-know

Best case scenario is the people who were buying the game no matter what shrug their shoulders and the people on the fence start bailing. This is really putting me off supporting indie devs altogether.
