Oh, I wasn't trying to downplay. I just don't play BR's so I was genuinely curious. o_O
Oh I know you were just asking a question :cuteblob:

I was just speaking to how it seems like people aren't willing to give Apex its due in terms of how good its ping system is for a shooter. People keep saying things like "Well X action game or Y strategy game had a ping system 10 years ago!" And that's fine, but those are different types of games and this ping system is easily better than anything I've used in an online shooter before.

And I should note, I hate the game and stopped playing it after one night. But I'm still willing to give it its due and say that the ping system is amazing.
Also Respawn did a lot of playtesting to make sure their pinging system would be solid enough to work as the only mode of communication in the game. Other games treat it as a tool to help with communication.
And this is impressive too: that they forced the people testing it to not use mics so that they could figure out how much could actually be conveyed through pings.

The answer is a hell of a lot more than any other online game's ping system.

I decided to play it after all. Anyone know how to get these 2D textures or whatever smoothed out when using NVidia Inspector?

I'm talking about the patches on their shoulders.

Welp, looks like I'm already in the final chapter of Kiwami, lol. (Did pretty much most of the side stuff too, except the stuff I don't want to bother with).
I guess I'll end it today. :coffee-blob:

don't think you can :(

oh, and while you're playing it - go into the ini and disable enemy AI ... it makes the game a billion times better (and true to devs' vision ... they didn't want to put any enemies in there but squeenix told them to do it ... hence why "the fix" is a simple ini edit)

Finished Metro Exodus today (don't worry, Steam version, Epic can fuck off into a fire).

An enjoyable title for sure but the ambition of a more open playstyle fell a bit flat as it only really affects 2-3 areas across the whole game with the remainder being linear. As such given it's longer length to the previous Metro games, tbh by the end it felt like it was overstaying it's welcome a bit.
Nevertheless don't get me wrong, was still an enjoyable game (y)

And next on the play list is Devotion

Already did. Dunno if it disables them outright, but it lowers it to near non existent~

Chinese officials: Either you remove the game from the store, or we remove Steam from China.
Valve: ...

Or it is a decision of the devs themselves, which would explain why the game was removed from every region.
From what I gathered it's the publisher's decision.

Aaaaand that was Yakuza Kiwami.
Not as good as 0, but still very good. Majima Everywhere and the ridiculous boss health bars are annoying after a while though, so I put the game on easy somewhere during chapter 8 and bulldozed my way through the rest of it.

Back to reading chinese webnovels~

Yeesh, ya know the next time you're going to release a game where your biggest audience is gonna be from your neighbouring country, regarldess of how you feel about them politically don't make it so fucking blatantly obvious.

Probably Red Candle did themselves.
By the way, is there a bot that tracks Steam releases?
1- It's rude to call people bots
2- lashman ain't sharing no secrets

no, it doesn't .... but they can't see you, so unless you run into them - they're completely harmless :)

I'm glad I got wired worried about Devotion after I saw the publisher statement. Wasn't gonna buy it right away but thought it could get pulled if they had a dispute with their publisher so I went ahead and bought it.

Really hope they're able to put it back up for sale.

Seriously. Was just about to buy it. Added the money to Steam wallet and everything. o_O

Hope it comes back soon and the devs stay safe.
I was going to buy it very soon, but after what happened during the weekend, and knowing how the Chinese government likes to force the removal of content they don't agree with, I ended up buying the game yesterday, fearing the game might be removed.
And also, to support the developer, after this terrible period.

Hopefully the game will return soon.
This whole situation is ridiculous. If it was a developer from China making comments about Taiwan, nothing would happen.
I really can't believe all of this is because of a joke regarding a politician.

Due to technical issues that cause unexpected crashes and among other reasons, we are pulling <Devotion> off from steam store to have another complete QA check. At the same time we'd like to take this opportunity to ease the heightened pressure in our community resulted from our previous Art Material Incident, our team would also review our game material once again making sure no other unintended materials was inserted in. Hopefully this would help all audience to focus on the game itself again upon its return.

https://kotaku.com/facing-financial-pressures-gog-quietly-lays-off-at-lea-1832879826

One person who was laid off from GOG last week offered a different perspective, saying that laid-off staff were told that this was a move made by a company in dire straits. That person estimated that the layoffs had hit 10% of GOG’s staff.

“We were told it’s a financial decision,” that person told me in an online message. “GOG’s revenue couldn’t keep up with growth, the fact that we’re dangerously close to being in the red has come up in the past few months, and the market’s move towards higher [developer] revenue shares has, or will, affect the bottom line as well. I mean, it’s just an odd situation, like things got really desperate really fast. I know that February was a really bad month, but January on the other hand was excellent. We were in the middle of a general restructuring, moving some teams around, not unprecedented. But layoffs that big have never happened before.”

I hope this rumour mill isn't true. I find it a little curious that there was only a single source on this and no corroborating statement from other staffers who were laid off.

I have plenty of games in my GOG account and I would hate it to see it go away.

Well, in their defence it was quite a crash, and it was quite unexpected. :p

Really, it's insane how, in just a few days, the game went from an unexpected success story, to something that may terminally damage the developer.
I hope all ends up working for the developers when this insanity dies down.
Post automatically merged:

Last chance to get Touhou Luna Nights at the current price.
Tomorrow, the game leaves early access, and it will significantly increase in price.

A reminder that the developer of the awesome Pharaoh Rebirth+ is working on this game.
Fans of metroidvania games need to watch the above trailer, the game looks very good in motion.

A bit of a heads-up for those in the market for a new 60% mechanical keyboard. Flashquark is one of the official distributors for Anne Pro/Anne Pro 2. Comes in a variety of switches. Order fulfillment would be on the 3rd week of March. The keyboard is popular and has sold out pretty quickly in the past. Shipping internationally.

I've wanted to get a mechanical keyboard for a long time.

But what's the difference between those switches?

But what's the difference between those switches?

Are you referring to the colour of the switches, or the manufacturers?

If it's the former, it differentiates the feedback it gives when pressed. For example, I prefer the Blue MX (Cherry) switches which makes a distinct "click" sound with a little "bump" feel midway through. Others, like Brown MX, feels almost exactly the same way, except without the "click" sound.

If it's the latter, at some point in the past, Cherry Corp. the original creator of these mechanical switches has expired their patent. Since then a number of manufacturers has come up with their own Cherry switch clones, resulting in a number of different switch names, but they keep the same colour designation for the most part.

Since I just finished Detention I ended up picking up Devotion around the time it got removed from sale in China only. I'm so glad I did and I plan on playing it by the end of this weekend. Hopefully everything ends up working out for the developer, the whole situation is just unfortunate.

Mechanical keyboards rule! You don't know what you're missing out on until you've used one! Definitely try out several colors (perhaps in a local electronics store or your place of work if possible) to figure out which ones you like.

I have a Black switch keyboard from Monoprice that was on massive sale and I love it. Black switches are not as popular I have gathered because you really gotta push hard on the keys, but my giant hands don't find that to be much of a problem. You will probably feel differently! But that's part of the fun, like building your own PC and customizing everything!

I guess I kind of meant both actually. I've tried looking up switch info in the past and I always end up overwhelmed lol.

I checked out the article, and I've read in the past that Kailh were kind of crummy in the past, but are better now? Have you owned any of those switches, or are the Cherry absolutely worth the price difference?

Do you use the Blue MX for typing and gaming? I know it's primarily meant for typing, but I wonder how it'd feel in something like a MOBA.

I don't have any experience with Cherry clones, so I can only share my experience with the Cherry MXes. I own two boards (Anne Pro 2 and Das Ultimate) and both of them are Cherry Blues. I have tried Red, Brown and Clear though. Red and Brown would be the most common ones for gaming, also a good middle ground between typing usage and gaming. Clear is a "heavier" version of Brown (as in requiring more force to press).

Apart from typing, I prefer Blues since I love the clicky sound and they feel good for the games I play with a keyboard and mouse, although I very rarely play games with a first-person perspective. I mostly play RPGs and I don't play MOBA so I'm not sure how the Blues would feel.

What I can suggest is to get a switch tester, something like this, so you can play around with it to see which switch you prefer.

Does anyone know if Stump's old posts or threads on Microsoft's history with PC gaming are archived or available still?

i'm sure they are ... they didn't delete anything on gaf ... so you'd have to just search for it

Ugh, any time someone posts something about a game I assume it's about EGS.XD

Also has anyone else noticed, I swear this is true, that when opening a booster pack it's more often that you get duplicates than when getting the cards the old fashioned way?
