Not me, that said I had been using them less and less myself since they were no longer good old games and stopped bringing as many cool classics.
There are so many more great franchises they could bring us, I've been waiting for the MechWarrior games forever
Maybe their galaxy investment was a bit misguided as well. I do use it since it exists but can't say it was really something they needed or that improves the experience and they seem to have to maintain two different installation methods, one through galaxy and one outside that, with much of the latter not yet getting updated for galaxy to properly recognize the game is installed in your system if you don't do it through galaxy etc. It seems messy.

Probably indrectly. They don't really compete. GoG has it's specialty.
BUT They're just forcing GoG to cut costs. GoG doesn't have size that allows them not to respond to EGS 12% cut. (unlike Steam).
If GoGs almost at red with 30%, that can't be good.
This seems so obvious in hind sight. GoG has way higher costs than regular CD key sites.
But I would've guessed cd key sites first tho.

Key sites will probably be affected later, once there are too many games that go for EGS or WS and have no keys to sell elsewhere, for now there are tons still.

Considering the revenue split they are proposing, there's no way places like Humble, Green Man Gaming, 2Game, Voidu, Fanatical, Gamesplanet, and more, can continue to operate. There's simply not enough money to be made for these retailers, with such a tight margin.
It's pretty clear what Epic is trying to do: force out as many competitors as they can, by selling with barely any profit, or at a loss, so that when they are properly established, and many of these stores close, they can increase their portion of the revenue split.
I have no doubts what EGS is doing isn't going to affect Steam as much as some expect to (or even Uplay and Origin, for example), but for smaller services and retailers, it's a disaster.
And, this would be bad for consumers as well. Steam is my platform of choice, no doubt. But, the truth is outside of sales, and games that are only sold on Steam, pretty much all my games are bought elsewhere, be it Voidu, GMG, Humble, and others, or even directly from developers.

Epic could have done this so well, by selling the same games available elsewhere cheaper while giving the same money per copy to the developers given the lower cut. Give incentives like game themed Fortnite gear the way Valve did with TF2 hats in its heyday. And actually aim to provide features and options down the line, rather than take it all away and not give a shit on principle by demanding exclusivity and not having key generation for other retailers and pretty much boasting about how they'll never have any better community or customer interaction features like user reviews. I can understand fickle game "journalists" failing at it but you'd think companies/studios/devs would know better. Same for some gamers who just appear happy Steam is getting fucked over exclusives.

The thought of GOG closing scares me for a variety of reasons. Out of all the stores/platforms out there, they really are the only one that felt human to me. They seem to genuinely care about their customers and their work to preserve old games/make them run on modern systems is something I'll truly miss if anything happens to them.
And this isn't even touching on the fact that IF this is the end of GOG, I'll still have backups of every game I own from there. Won't be able to say that for Origin/Uplay/Steam/etc. The future of PC gaming does not excite me like it used to.

They do have restrictions, they're exclusive to Epic Store as far as I can tell. I've not seen Epic exclusives sold elsewhere except for Metro Exodus which had done the deals before the switch and they had to honor them. Same for boxed copies. Can't find anywhere else to buy Ashen, Close to the Sun, Hades...
Division 2 is available elsewhere and that's likely because, like Flower, it's not actually an exclusive as Ubisoft had the upper hand given it would use their platform for the backend and everything regardless of the storefront and the key generation is probably for UPlay rather than Epic Store. Plus Division 2 is probably more popular as a game than Epic Store as a store so for now it benefits Epic much more. I guess Ubisoft wanted to test ditching Steam and got the added bonus of getting paid for it by Epic, lol. They already said the biggest increase in preorders was on their own store, some ludicrous %.
But yeah Epic Store doesn't have enough weight to affect key sites all that much just yet, plenty Steam and UPlay etc, keys to go around and sell, for now...

Tsk seems Frogwares named ALL the .exe of their Sherlock Holmes games as 'game.exe' I managed to set up nvidia inspecto onto Sherlock vs. Jack the Ripper but I'm concrned the settings are affecting the other games. As such I'm just gonna finish it up first then move onto the next game and so on.

It may seem exaggerated, but that's basically it.
Epic are in such healthy financial position, they can afford to essentially crush the smaller competition, in order to obtain a certain market share. This is done everywhere, in other business sectors.
It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to see them actually approach some of these smaller platforms, like GOG, to buy them.
Epic currently has the same attitude as 90s Microsoft, which is honestly hilarious since Sweeney kept talking about how Microsoft was 100% absolutely for sure going to try and kill Steam. (Which is funny for a variety of reasons, but that's likely a discussion for another day)

Great analysis on the Epic repercussions (no pun intended ) of their strategies, it would be really sad if the external stores selling Steam keys are forced to close. That can push forward a monopoly situation where us as consumers can get really screwed.

Thanks for the heads-up.
I never knew of this "trick". I'm from Europe, and whenever I use the website I'm always taken to "eu.alienwarearena.com", and in there there were no keys available. But the one you linked to ("fr.alienwarearena.com") still had keys.
And, strangely, if I go to "eu.alienwarearena.com" again, the key I received from the "fr" website shows up.
Either way, free game!

No, it will likely make things more expensive because it kills the resellers that give discounts by cutting into their own cut.

I haven't played the game since the first or second early access version, so I can't wait to check the full game.
I really enjoyed Pharaoh Rebirth+, so I have high hopes for this one.

Anyway, I've put an hour into Luna Nights and really, really like it. Currently at the 2nd boss.
There is no need to say anything about the basics like movement, controls and combat, everything feels great.
It's unique mechanics, the gracing and time slowdown/time stop are also nice. Gracing is basically the bullet hell thing where you get something when you stay close to enemies or projectiles, in this case Health, Mana or Time.
Bosses are good too so far.
Only let down is the story, it's basically just an excuse to have a Metroidvania-style Touhou game and neither particularly present, interesting or deep.
Kind of a shame, everything else is excellent.
I'm pretty sure it doesn't, or if it does my 18 year old self was unable to find them
That's crap, the voice sound level is maxed but still can't hear much. So I guess I just play for the gameplay not the story.

This one may be of interest to fans of "janky" RPGs. Eternity: The Last Unicorn, a Brazilian action RPG inspired by Norse mythology, will be released next week.
A number of stores have the game up to pre-order at a decent price, with the bonus of a free Digital Artbook and Soundtrack.
Green Man Gaming currently appears to be the cheapest at 11,99€. The full retail price of the game is 19,99€.

When adding a game's executable to a nvidia inspector profile, when selecting the executable, there's an option to use the full path instead of just the executable name, so it's possible to differentiate between games that have the same exe name.

I played it at release. The destruction tech is nice, and the way the game works is interesting. I had frequent framerate drops and other tech issues, sadly. Still, for that price it's a good deal.
